darksnowman
NSMB is back and now you can adventure with Mario as your Mii!
Magnus
I hate Miis and wish they would go away. Stop acting like this is some big revolution, Nintendo. Throwing Miis into the game couldn't have taken more than a couple of hours. New Super Mario Bros. Wii was pretty awesome, though, so this should be too. daftada
You might hate Miis but other people like them, so why not include them? It didn't look like you had to play as them, but had the option to, if you want.
Magnus
I'm not saying they shouldn't include them (though I still wish they'd go away forever), but it's a bit sad when they expect us to get excited about another New Super Mario Bros. game because they've added Mii support. Agreed, I'm also not very keen on the 'New' SMB art style, a bit too fluffy for lack of a better word. Much prefered the styles of Mario 3 and World. I'm not excited about that, I just love Mario Bros so a new game is great! Although it wasn't a massive selling point for me, the more I see and think about it, playing it on the screen is such an amazing idea!
mcj metroid
Are they going at least FIX that trainwreck of a multiplayer!? By the way this looks embarassingly similiar to New super mario bros wii... The music still has that fucking "wah" noise thrown everywhere.. In fact it's a song taking from another game..

mcj metroid
Pretty sure this was just another tech demo. I certainly hope so. I know mario's graphics HAVE to be simple but they could at least look as good as ps1 2d games.
Retro_Link
After the fantastic levels and graphics of DKCR... I'd certainly like the next NSMB to step it up a notch, instead of the levels looking pretty empty, and I don't like the foreground to background visuals. In fact some movement between forground & background would also be nice.
philcollins
i loved super mario bros wii so i would buy a new installment as soon as it came out. that being said i dont think having miis in it adds anything at all, it looks kind of lame. i think they need to revamp the whole mii thing for wii U. it was fun to piss around on for like half an hour but after that it had no use. they need to boost it up so it looks better graphicly, and then they need to add more content in the future so you can keep adding to your mii. oh and they need to have the full clothes to. as for this game tho, im pretty sure its just a tech demo. nintento normally do a good job of implementing new features to their mario games, if a new one does come out im sure it will have some good new gameplay features to make it worthwhile. Hamishmash
I found NSMB Wii well made and fun but the look of it is a bit soulless. It's not very Mario... it doesn't have the richness of Mario Galaxy or even Mario Kart. I hope they do make this game seem a bit more Mario-y. I mean, I remember being so excited about the original NSMB because of how long it had been since a 2D-Mario game. They perhaps need to bring a little bit more of that excitement back. And as has been said, DKCReturns is the one to beat.

It's pure platforming.. Still though why can't it be a least like.. Now THAT was a gorgeous 2D title. Compared to Just not all that pretty. It's simple, it's vibrant but you could never call it a Pretty game and frankly I think the older mario title look better.
david.dakota
Are they going at least FIX that trainwreck of a multiplayer!? You mean by adding online? I doubt it, the coins are now in HD - the CPU won't handle 1080p coins and online.
Kurtle Squad
Part of NSMBWii's problem was that the 4P seemed sort of tacked on; it also worked best with 2-3 players, not 4.

No I mean( and you may disagree) I stil think being able to Bounce off your opponent is a mistake. I think games like Donkey kong country do this a lot better. Even the new Kirby looks like it's handling this a big better. This is something I complained about before the Wii game was even released, it's a bad idea. You should be able to interact with each other YES. A button press standing over someone should suffice. But not be able to touch off each other otherwise. david.dakota
No I mean( and you may disagree) I stil think being able to Bounce off your opponent is a mistake. I was being facetious. I recall Miyamoto providing some lame excuse aboutthe game not being online due to too much happening on screen. Personally, I'd agree with you, but think the biggest problem was the lack of online. Hamishmash
I agree with everything put in the post, but we won't get any of it. NSMB 1 and 2 have sold amazingly, and that's enough for Nintendo to think they're not doing anything wrong. And we will all probably buy it anyway. Hand-drawn Mario would look beautiful. If a game could look like the box-art for the NES and SNES games, it'd be fulfilling an amazing childhood dream.
