Serebii Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Looking at my copy, I just realised...this is the first European DS game to come in a black case
dazzybee Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I loved typing of the dead and love the concept, so could be tempted, but i reckon bargain bin for me. Is it actually chllenging if you're a good typer or more for kids?!
FireMeowth Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Apparently, no stores in Norway are going to stock this game, so I had to order it online... which means I probably won't get to play it before... well, next week, most likely. I guess I'll survive, though. It's not like I haven't got a couple of dozen games to complete or anything.

Murr Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Is this going to be a game that becomes as rare as rocking horse shit in a few years? Where'd you pick up your copy @Serebii?

Murr Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Nice, I'll have to pick this up sooner rather than later, Don't wanna make the mistake of putting off buying it, then finding it becomes an expensive game to track (Hello Fire Emblem & Golden Sun Still not got these yet)

RRP seems to be £45 so it'd be the best place to get it
Dcubed Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Hey, probably getting this soon; Just a quick Q. Do you get funny sentences and stupid stuff to type like in Typing of the Dead, or is it just Pokemon names and nothing else?

Dcubed Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Pokémon names, the occassional key Bummer. Oh well, still looks fun anyhow (and that Keyboard alone looks to be worth the price of entry!)
FireMeowth Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Pokémon names, the occassional key Let's not forget typing letters to stop attacks and lighting candles or whatever. Also
canand Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I just had a phone call from Shopto and they said they got 1 there but it's damaged and they are geting new ones tomorrow so I might not get it to Monday
Serebii Posted September 20, 2012 Author Posted September 20, 2012 Guess I was lucky to get mine, I only ordered on Tuesday morning on a whim
canand Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Guess I was lucky to get mine, I only ordered on Tuesday morning on a whim It will get shipped tomorrow I wonder if I ask TNT to deliver it on Saturday they might deliver it
RedShell Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 So I decided to pick this up (mainly for the keyboard ), here's my stats after 31 mins: It's surprisingly fun. Things start out very simple, then it gradually increases the amount of letters and the speed you need to type at. I've always been pretty slow at typing, so I'm actually hoping this will help me improve a bit. I'd be doing better at this game if it only had the original 150 Pokémon though, I don't know many of the newer types, which means I have to wait for the name to appear on screen before I can start typing. So it's really exciting when a Pokémon that I recognise suddenly appears! :p Loving the sound effects when you get a combo going, but the voice work in this game is seriously bad. "New RanKING!" As for the Nintendo wireless keyboard, it's a thing of beauty. So small and cute. Great that it can be used with other devices too. I might even use it as my main PC keyboard.
ReZourceman Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed. Do you need to know the names of Pokemon?
Serebii Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed. Do you need to know the names of Pokemon? No, but you need to before I slap you upside the head :p
ReZourceman Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Oh no I do! Just a few of the black and whites are a bit....bluomapy. I ordered from Shopto on a spur yesterday, so with their problem I am not anticipating to receive it for a while.
RedShell Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 The title screen on this is great fun. Going mental on the keyboard and seeing/hearing the results on the DS is incredibly entertaining. Also, I just realised that the keyboard doesn't communicate with the DS system, but the game card itself. It would be awesome if Nintendo included that Bluetooth functionality in future titles, Animal Crossing on 3DS is obviously a no-brainer for it.
canand Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Mine got shipped today and I am tracking it with TNT
RedShell Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 To anyone that stops playing a game once the credits have rolled, you probably shouldn't get this. Only 1:29 on my playtime and I've already hit the credits. Replayed quite a few stages too, so I reckon it's possible to "complete" in under an hour. By the way, I tip my hat to anyone that can correctly type the entire staff roll. That be insanely challenging with all of those Japanese names! I only managed about 300 letters. :p Obviously there are still a lot of new stages left to unlock (as the world map is the entire keyboard layout) and medals to earn. I just tried a new stage in which you had to recognise Pokémon crys (knew there would be one like that ), did surprisingly well at it though, as it's multiple choice (you also get pics of the Pokémon) and the ones I got were usually a newer type with an older one, so if I didn't recall a sound I just assumed it was the newer Pokémon.
welsh_gamer Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Reduced to £29.86 at ShopTo.Net Tempting...
-Dem0- Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Was thinking about waiting this out for a while. Thought the previous price was good. But now I'm sold, don't want to risk the price going back up.
