Mines a I7 quad 12GB DDR3 RAM Dual graphics cards etc and im still having to tone down the graphics. Although that could be something to do with 3000 people in 1 zone trying to kill the same monsters >.<
Deathjam Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Played the beta. Personally I felt that it blew chunks. Felt like I was playing an mmo from 5 years back, which would make sense as I read that the director for this game does not play/try the competition. Even went through hell getting my ps3 pad to work with my pc which made the experience a hell of a lot better, but not enough to keep me interested. Looks beautiful though.

If you want a new, different mmo experience, i would hold out for Guild Wars 2.

Choze Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) I was in the beta. It needed alot of work. The optimisation is approaching Crysis levels of joke. Except it looks alot worse. Barely uses a dual core processor let alone the quads. GPU is horribly used. The story aspect of the game is really annoying in a MMO. Exploration is insanely bland and weak. Oddly enough the game has copy and paste towns, literally... No joke. Beta or not i dont know how are they supposed to explain the constant copying and pasting? Maybe to fit it in 4.7gb? Even when I got the bloody quests it took me about an hr to figure out how to get to the specific area to complete. Then you complete the lot in no time at all, and find you have no other quests to level to the next set. Which leaves grinding, and my god, it put's korean mmos to shame with the amount required. Got bored before I reached lv 9 of 50.

Even when I got the bloody quests it took me about an hr to figure out how to get to the specific area to complete. Then you complete the lot in no time at all, and find you have no other quests to level to the next set. Which leaves grinding, and my god, it put's korean mmos to shame with the amount required. Around the horizon is cataclysm for WoW, Guild Wars 2 (what I am personally waiting for), Tera, Knights Of the Old Republic and many many more which most if not all are trying to do something different from your typical MMO.

I expected them to be critical but they go as far as saying the game is only 'half done and shouldn't have been made commercially available.' I think the only thing that Gametrailers said positively about it was the graphics. But being the completionist that I am for the Final Fantasy Series, i'll probably pick this up on ps3 and never play it much. Heck even playing 5 minutes of it would be nice, FF11 on the 360 wouldn't let me as the code was 'invalid.' It was a new, sealed game!

After playing the beta, I can wholeheartedly tell you it's not worth. You are literally throwing money away if you buy this knowing that it is heavily flawed.

Nobuo Uematsu did the music and that alone made me happy the game came out just to hear the music. After nearly throwing up from the shittiness of the music that came out of XIII. But yeah shame about the game, obviously square wanted to rush it out so people would buy it before all the big guns of the other MMORPG came out I guess...and now it's back firing on them.
