should be reverse numerical order!

force the better drivers to drive past the pack! :D

I remember the time, must've been about 10 years ago because it was during Hakkinen's prime, when Schumacher got sent to the back of the grid during this Grand Prix and had to force his way through the field because he needed a result to win the World Championship.

Raikkonen '05... best Suzuka ever!

I'll pass on Quali unless I can stay up, I slept badly last night and woke up early by my Radio alarm, so right now my head is killing me, though I should make it for the race though.

Yeah I don't know what to do. I'll watch the race live... I think qually aswell may be a bit much!

EDIT: Just scanned forward through the tv listing, I thought coverage was at 5 with race at 6, but the menu shows coverage starting at 6?

I might be able to manage that, waking up around 6.30 for the grid walk!

My plan is too watch qualy, get a few hours on the sofa, and wake up at 6:30.

Suzuka is my 2nd favourite track behind Spa. I know the track like the back of my hand, thanks to GT5:P :heh:

Mclaren are just steadily losing ground as the Red bulls and Alonso begin to dominate the podium. They are outsiders for the championships now, to think a few races ago that title was Alonso's.

Kobayashi impressed today, so many overtakes and a good 7th place on home soil. Hamilton's luck has turned and to think he may be docked another 5 places next race.

Good race. Feel gutted for Hamilton, he did everything right but lady luck wasn't with him. Would've been a great fight between him and Alonso near the end. The McLaren's definitly improved but it's going to be a big ask for anyone to take it from either Red Bull.

Best line of commentary ever from James Allen on Kobayashi's overtaking of Heidfeld:

"He's shouted 'Leeroy Jenkins' and off he goes!"

EDIT: It was David Croft. Silly me.

Woke up at 1.55 and 6.30 to enjoy both Qually and the Race... Hardcore!

Thought Qually was really good!... Kubica!! :)

But the race, first 3 laps aside I thought it was one of the most boring races I've seen at Suzuka!... Kubica!! :(

It was pretty much as you were for the entire race.

The start was crazy, with all those cars retiring. Massa's in for a rollicking from LDM and another great showing from Petrov off the line. Oh and Di Grassi even before the start!

Legard was possibly the worst I've ever heard him! I could do a better job than him!

The amount of crap that he was coming out with and you can tell at times Martin is just like WTF!!

Legard: "Woof... Kobayashi cookies, flags, masks, Ohh the Japanese love their merchandise!!... how many cars have you been asked to sign this weekend"

Martin: :blank: *does this guy realise there's a race on* "..... yeah so Hamilton..."

Retro you're impression of Legard is actually hilarious. Totally true. Annoyed me how everytime we got onboard footage of someone he would just go 'ok, round turn 1, up the hill into 2 and 3'. STOP SAYING UP THE HILL YOU BELLEND!

Not an incredible race but i really enjoyed it. On a track where Red Bull were supposed to walk a 1-2 in the park they only won by a small margin over Alonso. Ferrari have definately improved a lot over the last few races and they'll be very quick at at least Brazil I reckon, and probably Abu Dhabi as well.

Kobayashi was incredible. Jesus he is like a new Montoya, just not a prick outside of the car. Schumacher also had a fantastic race. Gutted he was stuck behind the slower rosberg because he might've had a shot at Lewis.

3 man title race now. Jenson is out of it in my mind unless there's mixed conditions in Brazil, Lewis is simply the faster of the two.

Retirements aside, I think Red Bull have pretty much got these titles in the bag now.

I would say the WDC is Webbers, however if Vettel finishes 1st with Mark 2nd at each of the remaining 3 GP's he'll take the title... something that is very possible!

Same with Alonso of course, but I think Red Bull will be able to just about hold on to their advantage.

It's looking quite unlikely for Lewis, being over a race win behind now and yeah Button's pretty much got no chance because I always see Lewis as being the stronger of the two overall.

Red Bull have done one of those CGI-demonstration jobs for the upcoming Korean GP: "Kind of a city circuit, if all the architects' plans are realised in the future."

That videos awesome!

Oh joy! 2 whole possibilities for overtaking! And yet another harbour!

It'll be what, 4-5 years before the circuit looks like they envision... by which time I hope we'll have moved on!

Hockenheim is pretty terrible now really. Which is a shame because the old layout off into the forest was fantastic. Hope Webber wins the title and tells Horner where to go after the way he was treated at points of the season.

Yeah I don't like new Hockenheim at all!

How could we forgot Canada aswell!!

Anyways yeah there's been a rumour this year that Webber may retire if he wins the title, and also the rumour that he could go to Ferrari... but knowone's gonna want to be Alonso's lap dog, and they continue to tell us Massa will be there next year, but Ferrari have told us many things before!

The New Silverstone Pit Lane is gonna be some 3 or so meters below track level, with steps up to the pit wall!

Russia set to announce race from 2014

Russia is set to announce a five-year deal to host a Formula 1 grand prix from 2014, according to a government source in the country.

Formula 1 commercial chief Bernie Ecclestone is meeting prime minister Vladimir Putin in the city of Sochi, reports the Reuters news agency.

Putin was quoted as saying: "We have reached an agreement with the principal owner of Formula 1 that Sochi would host the Russian Grand Prix from 2014 to 2020."

Sochi is on the south west Black Sea coast of Russia, near the Georgian border, and will also host the Winter Olympics in 2014.

See, Russia's a place I'm supportive of having a GP. It makes sense to have one there. There are plenty of Russian viewers, sponsors and at least one Russian competitor. The South Korea GP is just another ill-conceived government vanity project.

Anyone going to wake up at 1.55 or 5.55 during the cold night tonight to check out first footage of Korea in Practice 1 & 2?

Think I may check out a bit of P2 and then go back to sleep!

EDIT: Actually it should be on iPlayer anyways I guess.
