Rummy Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Wetterix! That's what I always thought the dude was saying. Anyhow, through a bit of IRC chattery a conversation flowed from one thing to another until I got onto the subject of this game and it brought up so many old school memories and so I felt the need to discuss it in order to curb my hankering for it. Does anyone remember this gem of a game? I had it on N64, though twas apparently on Dreamcast and PC as well. A puzzle game at heart really, I found it quite addictive once I got used to everything it had to offer(which was hard, cos my memory card was shit). But yeah, basically, anyone remember this? I understand it had a sequel released on PS2 called Aqua Aqua, I'm just wondering if anyone played either and what they thought of it? Here's some pics; Dunno why it looks so rough in the PC version pics...
Chris the great Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 i loved it! it was so hectic, trying to hold enough water, prevent earth quakes and have a place for bombs to fall! the duckys multiplying your score, the horror of seeing a bombing wave incoming. it was a great game. id like to see an update actualy, diealy on the wii or ps3, use the motion controles to detect the angle, so youd need to avoid tipping it over.
Ashley Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I remember this And oddly, I remember going to buy it from Currys (its odd because my memory is balls). Great game and a bloody difficult challenge.
ClassicGamer Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Good fun when I owned it on N64! My N64 console, including 22 games got stolen and I downloaded Wetrix for the PC. Somehow it feels different and sluggish this way... Magical Tetris Challenge! I liked that even better, much fun for two players.
Wesley Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 !!!!!! This is, along with Devil Dice, my favourite puzzle game of all time. Amazing on the N64 and average on the PC. Do you want me to send you the PC version? It's still fun. Oh.... SUCH FUCKING GOOD MEMORIES. I have always wanted to get a PS2 for the sequels to this and DD.
ClassicGamer Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Yeah, those were fun. And bust-a-move / puzzle bubble too! I tried playing Wetrix on my PC, but something with the controls wasn't correct somehow. I believe my joystick keeps steering to the right plus the R2 button is broken. I guess I need a new one before I can play again. Wetrix = Paranoia game! play it!
mcj metroid Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 looks so familiar.. god Not sure whether I played it or just saw it in a magazine or what.
Happenstance Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I had Wetrix, no idea why though as I really dont remember ever buying it
Wesley Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I just bought Aqua Aqua for 3.50. Damn you Rummy for making me spend £3.50. Now I just need to buy a PS2 to play it...
flameboy Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I have wetrix and don't remember it being good at all....
Roostophe Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I'm sure I played Wetrix back in the day; I borrowed it from somebody. I'm sure I did. I'm certain of it. I just can't remember it at all... Fuck.
Wesley Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Wetrix was amazingly addictive. My second favourite puzzle game to Devil Dice.
