Your most visited websites being displayed in thumbnail form looks kind of cool.

I dunno, though. I'm not sure if I want to surrender my entire web-browsing experience to Google.

Opera's been doing things like that forever, safari too. Even ie7 comes with a built in thumbnail view.

Wow, I like it. Seems spacious and fresh. And although I hate the way Google are taking over the entire web, seems like a good kick up the arse to other developers.

I've been using Opera for years now and dabbled with FF and IE but this is the fastest browser I've ever used (doesn't seem to use up much CPU usage neither, although more than Opera).

Should only get better. Speed is everything to me tbh.

Downloaded it kinda boring

Its a browser.

Answer: No

Its basically Safari (And I'm referring to the technology used) With a few new javascript features and a new interface.

I'm fine just using safari and not bothering with this.

Safari is a pile of crap and if you are seriously using it you need to stop.

I've herd the windows version isn't that good. The Mac version is lovely though. I've tried other browsers (Firefox, Opera) but neither worked as well for me.

Hm, I'm not sure about that. It's a lot faster than safari, for me. And the way it's working like multiple apps for multiple tabs seems to work very well.

A lack of various middle click functionalities means it could never replace FF for me at this stage. What's strange is that it works on bookmarks but not links or for scrolling. However, I might use it on my girlfriend's laptop (since there's no middle-click/scroll wheel anyway). Since I'm always using ie7 on that (she has FF, with all her cookies etc, it's just easier that way), maybe Chrome would provide a suitable alternative. Don't like the name though... "Chrome".

It uses all the same core technologies. Which was predictable seeing as how close Apple and Google are.

But the market is already saturated with options, were it not google's browser nobody would talk about it.

I think its fast and really like its clean aspect, but I'm too used to FF's functionalities and its extensions to change.

It was saturated before Firefox came along and look at it now, one of the most popular browsers around and it came from a company very few people had heard of beforehand.

First page, the chatroom. Also an Avatar reference I believe, not sure about the other.

Well spotted - I think "Trg" might be Trogdor, referencing the obvious, but I suppose it's right. Dr Horrible and Homestar Runner were born on the internet, it's amazing how it's evolved etc.

Safari in my experience, seems to be a lot less sluggish (less of a system resource hog) than FF and loads pages faster also.

My iBook is 3 years old :shakehead

Mm yes. That it has.

The Speed Dial in Opera is mighty handy, at first I thought it was bad but it's a great feature.

This Chrome is quite nice actually. The tabs at the top and the header up there is fresh and clean.

It has the option of opening the last tabs you looked at on startup. The pages loaded quite quickly. I guess that's just cos I have about 6 open all the time in Opera. So it takes its time.

One thing I wondered, why when typing, say n-europe, in the address bar does it search using Live Search and not Google?

The application shortcut sounds like a good idea, how long will it take to just start taking up space on your desktop and for a person to realise that it's only a matter of opening Chrome itself and clicking a few times. It's good for the lazy person.

If you imported your settings from IE that'll probably be why. I didn't import any settings and Google is the default search engine. You can change it in the options menu.

The browser has some great features and appears to be TOTALLY uncrashable, seeing as the browser doesn't even crash when you have a tab that crashes.

But it eats ram like a bitch :-/

Do you really know that many Mac users? I know Firefox has a few more features, but a few that I use in Safari, just aren't there, or are harder to get at in Firefox. So, while its a great browser for alot of people. It doesn't really fit my work-flow.

Which features do you use in Safari which aren't available in Firefox?

Considering I never use IE this is annoying. Nice to know it can change.

It seems alright actually. If they release new skins and some extentions and whatnot like FF it might be a contender. Too bad click scrolling didn't seem to want to work for me.

You can also set up as many search engines as you want to that if you type in the name (or keyword) for the search engine then the search term it searches that (so once you've set it up you can type "Wiki Something" to search wikipedia).
