Why does SVER always win? :( And why does it never feel like there's more than 20 people playing? :( I liked the idea behind this, but I wasn't happy tonight.

 

I think there was a Gamestop pre-order bonus in America for SVER armour.

Just had an epic 256 player Domination match. Raven just got totally shut out, they were just running around thinking they were playing CoD.

 

This game is awesome when you've got a decent team and leader. There's nothing quite like it, I get a fantastic sense of pride when I can see all my team working together to achieve a common goal. The community all seem to be pretty mature so far as well, you get the odd squad leader getting a bit frustrated sometimes, but thats all part of the fun!

Gotta be honest, I borrowed it from my cousin (he's on vacation), and I don't think I'm gonna buy it. I really don't think it's worth it. One other thing, am I the only one who finds it stupid that you can't switch factions at will? *shrug*

The way the game plays out would mean that swapping factions would cause a mess up in some of the games. It basically takes the queue people are in and then when there's enough players on that side, it throws them into battale.

 

You can make another character down the line I think, once you've done enough for the first team you selected.

 

Lv 10 now.. god 256 maps are so damn fun.

Even so... they could've found a way around that.

 

I have to be honest, the whole 256 thing isn't as exciting as I'd hoped it'd be... It never feels like there's more than 20 people playing. =/

Have you played a Domination match? There's people running around everywhere, especially if you're defending (AB-CD-EF-GH). To the point where its sometimes utter chaos.

On behalf of everyone here at Zipper Interactive, I’m pleased to announce that beginning March 25, our first official MAG downloadable add-on will be made available to players worldwide absolutely free of charge!

Valor rocks the new stuff.

 

Dubbed the “Trooper Gear Pack,†our first DLC addition to the MAG universe will offer a number of cool goodies for veterans and first timers alike. Out of everything in the pack, the most popular will likely be the oft-requested “Flashbang Grenade†that can be used to confuse, disorient or distract your enemies in a single throw.

 

Of course, there’s more to the Trooper Gear Pack than Flashbangs. We’ll also be including new special edition Light Machine Guns for each PMC. Raven’s APEX 100SE, SVER’s RTK-74 Vla, and Valor’s Mk 46 Mod 1 weapons will provide both a new look for your favorite LMGs and a number of performance adjustments as well.

 

The last element of the pack will be two additional uniforms – “Trooper Dark†and “Trooper Light.†Available to all three PMCs, these uniforms are specifically designed for urban and interior combat situations and give you two more aesthetic options to diversify your character with.

 

The best part of the Trooper Gear Pack? It’s just the beginning of our ongoing commitment to MAG. In the coming months, you can expect to see plenty of other add-ons and goodies that we can’t quite tell you about yet (but know you’ll enjoy).

 

But that’s not all. To commemorate the release of our DLC, we want to throw in a little extra. And so, as a thank you to all of our fans, we’re offering Double XP to any and all MAG players starting March 25. Simply log in at 12am Pacific/ 3am Eastern/ 8am GMT and play MAG as you normally would. Every time you complete a game your experience doubles, and yes, this bonus stacks for Veterans who already have an XP bonus to begin with! Just make sure you actually complete the games you play – if you quit early, your bonus won’t apply.

 

Expect the Double XP promotion to run until 11:59pm Pacific time on Sunday, March 28. Be sure to take advantage of it as much as you possibly can until then.

Not exactly looking forward to the flashbangs. Didn't like them in MW2. I'd rather stick with just smoke grenades. They do a good job of blinding the enemy, but still allow people to see certain things. Being totally blind is just shit.

This is a big one.

 

Our latest MAG update is undoubtedly the most comprehensive yet. As we mentioned last week, MAG v1.06 is packed with updates and upgrades that our dedicated community has been waiting for. Expanded Medical Kit functionality, better “team kill†prevention, improved vehicle physics, weapon updates and credit adjustments, altered medal and ribbon requirements, and additional gun ports for our APCs are just a few of the several new additions that players can expect alongside a number of needed bug fixes. But reading about it isn’t enough — you’ll just have to download it to see how much it has improved the game for yourself.

 

MAG v.1.06 will be available starting Tuesday, June 8 at 1am Pacific/ 4am Eastern/ 8am GMT. You can check the list below for the total catalog of items included with the patch. Gameplay

•Player knife attacks no longer deal damage to members of own PMC

•Headshot damage bonuses no longer apply to friendly fire

•Changed rewards for the resuscitation of an incapacitated ally to 5XP for partial health revive, and 10XP for full heath revive

•Added functionality to Medical Kit so that players can now heal themselves with L1 in addition to using R1 to heal or revive a teammate

•Added three gun ports to APCs of all factions

•All vehicle handling has been improved and been given more realistic physics

•Slowed down the rate of fire for the APC’s primary gun, but increased bullet damage

•Primary APC gun can now damage enemy APCs

•Shadow War contract turnover rate shortened by 75%

 

Weapons

•Adjusted damage for the AM50, Rollins LRRS, and AGVK sniper rifles vs. vehicles and emplaced turrets

•Credit cost for Pistols has been changed from 100c to 0c

•Credit cost for SMGs has been changed from 400c to 300c

Interface

•Lowered requirements for most Medal Awards

•Added progress bars to all Medal Awards

•Added messaging to main menu and all sub-menu screens that notify users of the following unlocked items: Apparel, Skill Points, Weapons/ Gear, Medals, Ribbons, new Leadership levels and new Ranks

•Added new comparison text to Stats menu for every category that allows users to compare their own stat to all other MAG players instantly

•Clan list functionality now works properly and displays online friends alphabetically first, followed by offline friends also listed alphabetically

•Clan and in-game Friends lists now leave highlighted selection on a player’s name if they change status as they move between “online†and “offlineâ€

•Changed vehicle icon visibility on the map to reflect its current status of visibility instead of its previous map state of “always seenâ€

•Repaired display problem in the “Community†tab’s “Player Search†screen that improperly presented names that contained multiple non-alphabet characters

•Statistics for “Enemy Vehicles Destroyed Assists†and “Enemy Turrets Destroyed Assists†are now correctly listed in proper category “Objectivesâ€

•Group panel now display icons to illustrate who is currently speaking

•Fixed infrequent bug that would incorrectly change sidebar and queue panel status indicator to 1 when the queue size exceeded its maximum

•Patched display problem in post-game stats screen that would incorrectly sort the “Assists†statistic

•Eliminated problem that allowed FRAGO’d objectives to continue flashing red and blue after they are destroyed in Acquisition for defenders

 

Graphics

•Fixed display problem with player’s left hand placement when using foregrip and bipod on the Raven Apex 100 light machine gun

•Fixed issue that prevented repaired roadblocks from “shining†to indicate that they can be interacted with

•Lowered instances “Death Twitch†jitter that sometimes occurred in dead characters that were close to/ or interacting with geometry

•Repaired problem that allowed flashbang effects to penetrate through solid objects and geometry

•Fixed occasional problem with second and third tier Sniper rifles that would sometimes result in the reticule not appear correctly when scoped

 

Technical

•Previously-released downloadable content (Fast Attack Gear Pack, Trooper Gear Pack, Raven’s Spyder Body Apparel, SVER’s Hazard Body Apparel, and Valor’s Bulldog Body Apparel) is now accessible to all users without PlayStation Store access

•Drastically lowered instances by which players could be resuscitated inside objectives, walls, and other geometry.

•Patched problem that prevented users from saving a loadout with DLC weapons following a “Respec†action

•Repaired issue that caused renamed PSN IDs to be incorrectly identified as its previous name when logging in

•Fixed bug that prevented Valor players from selecting all unlocked uniforms when wearing “Augmented Fiber Mesh†light armor

•Fixed rare bug that would result in thrown grenades bouncing off of dead bodies

•Repaired an occasional “undefined†message that sometimes occurred when a vehicle was FRAGO’d

•Fixed issue that sometimes prevented leaders from setting FRAGOs when riding in vehicles

•Patched occasional glitch that prevented the progress bar from appearing when activating an objective out of a sprint

New MAG gametype and maps coming in 'Interdiction' DLC on June 22

As hinted at by a Sony survey distributed last month (and then a rash of recent unintentional Trophy unlocks), the world of MAG will soon expand rather drastically with the June 22 release of the Interdiction DLC pack. The bundle, which will cost $9.99, includes the titular Interdiction gametype, where two factions storm one of three brand new, completely neutral maps, vying to control three command posts. Each post your team holds adds to your score while depleting your enemy's, which could lead to some lengthy tug-of-war encounters.

 

In addition to the new gametype and maps, the pack includes a "Heavy Improved" armor set for each faction, which promises to turn an ordinary soldier into a "walking tank." (Hardly sounds fair, does it?) Players will also be able to unlock a selection of new medals and Trophies -- if they haven't done so already. Click past the jump to see the full list of available accolades.

Jump Start – Capture 2 Command Posts in a round of Interdiction

Mowing the Grass – Get 10 kills with a vehicle turret in one round

Dashed Hopes – Destroy 2 mines with gunfire in one round

Cannonball Rally – Become an MVP (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in a round of Interdiction

 

Medals

Roadside Assistance – Capture 10 Interdiction control points over your career

Landscape Architect – Get 50 kills with a vehicle turret over your career

Sabotage Goes Faction-Neutral Starting… Now!

It’s been almost six months since our massive online shooter, MAG, was released to stores all over the world, and the team here at Zipper Interactive is celebrating by giving something back to fans who continue to support our game and its community.

 

That “something†we’re passing along is also something that many of you have been asking us for with great enthusiasm for months. And so, it is with great pleasure, that I announce that starting today — right this moment in fact — that all maps in our “Sabotage†game mode are going “Faction Neutral!†If you ever wanted to play against the Valor PMC as a member of the competing Raven Industries on a map that belonged to the third faction, SVER, that option is now yours! We’d like to think of it as a way to experience existing content in an all-new way, and we hope you feel the same.

 

The best part? You don’t have to download a thing to do it. We’ve already set everything up so that all you have to do is log on to the game, select the Sabotage game mode with whatever your PMC of choice may be, and have fun. It’s just that simple.

 

We hope you enjoy this gift to you as much as we enjoy giving it, and once again, want to thank each and every one of you who have supported MAG in its first half-year. Hopefully, you’ll like what we have in store for the second-half just as much.

MAG v1.07 Available Early August

 

If you consider yourself the type of person who likes getting new video game features for free, then our next MAG patch – version 1.07, due in early August – is definitely something for you.

 

Yes friends, in just over a week from now, players will be treated to a number of features that you’ve been asking us for all summer in addition to a few surprises. Like what, you ask? Like these:

 

A new “Happy Hour†Double XP bonus that’s applied to the first hour of any player’s gameplay session in a 24-hour period.

Suppression will join Sabotage as a “Faction Neutral†gameplay mode, allowing any PMC to battle each other on any Suppression map.

Faster download and patching code that allows us to update MAG with more content and bigger file sizes in a speedier way.

Redesigned versions of the Flores Basin (Raven) and Alyeska Terminus (Valor) Domination maps that include new obstacles and repaired exploits.

New lighting effects for more attractive and realistic environments.

Various fixes to address bugs or glitches to improve MAG’s overall performance.

Of course, there are a number of other additions and fixes coming with MAG v1.07, but the points listed above should whet your appetites while you wait for the full list of changes closer to the update.

I brought it. Playing SVER right now. Its like crack. :weep: I cant stop dreaming about kills in my sleep. If anyone wants to add me, do so.

 

The gameplay is just so good. Its probably the most organised shooter in existence. Especially in randoms. I cant believe I passed this game at launch, its really refreshing. Also the final game feels like a technical marvel, they added lots of improvements over the beta and its hard to not be amazed at the variety of level design with a level. I also feel spoiled by lack of targets in other games now :p
