Daft
They really just ripped the soul out of this game. It was made for the then next-gen systems for a reason. Frank is meant to be a photographer, what the hell is the point of him now. It was so cool setting up and taking weird pictures.
Dante
CAPCOM® ANNOUNCES DEAD RISINGTM: CHOP TIL YOU DROP Wii Gamers Prepare For a Zombie Invasion Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Dead Rising™: Chop Till You Drop is in development for the Wii™ home video game system. Based on the critically acclaimed Dead Rising™, which has sold in excess of one million units since its release in 2006, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is scheduled to hit store shelves this Winter. Taking advantage of the same proven technology that brought Resident Evil® 4 so successfully to Wii, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop delivers a more immersive, intuitive and interactive experience as players use the Wii Remote to shoot, slash and bludgeon their way through a zombie infested shopping mall, fighting for survival. Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance journalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to the small suburban town of Willamette only to find that it has become overrun by zombies. Frank escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety but it turns out to be anything but. It will be a true struggle to survive the endless stream of enemies, but players will have full reign of a realistic shopping centre and its varied stores offering an endless supply of real and makeshift weapons to fight off the flesh-hungry mob. If Frank is running low on health he can pay a visit to one of the many restaurants or cafes for a meal in order to restore his energy and continue the fight. The game is split into a series of individual cases, all of which Frank must complete in order to gain vital information that will allow him to piece together the truth behind the horrendous epidemic. In addition to the cases, players will be faced with the dilemma of deciding the rescue priority of the residents of Wilamette who also sought sanctuary in the mall. Depending on the player’s skill, some may not be so fortunate as each rescue needs to be undertaken in a set time period, therefore players may need to delay completion of a case in order to save a fellow human. Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop’s infectious humor delivers some welcome relief from the incessant tide of zombies with players able to dress Frank up in a variety of comedic costumes and take on the undead hordes with a selection of improvised and sometimes highly ineffective weapons such as a toy sword or a football. Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop includes the following features: • Utilizes the same engine as Resident Evil 4 Wii edition. • New level of interaction – aim and fire guns, swing and throw weapons and shake off zombie attacks with added Wii Remote functionality • Huge environment – expansive indoor and outdoor areas of the mall provide a variety of different locations to explore • Improved save functionality allows for more seamless gameplay • Hoards of enemies on screen at once resulting in non-stop, pulse-pounding action • Anything in the mall is at Frank’s disposal • Grab environmental objects like umbrellas and benches to use as improvised weapons • Snatch items from different stores to use as weapons including golf clubs, lawnmowers, frying pans and more • Consume food and drink to revive health

I admit though the camera was cool, would still take a better control method and the ironing out of all the many flaws in the game....
Hero-of-Time
This quote which I nicked from GoNintendo is very encouraging. “If you like RE4 Wii’s control scheme, you’re going to love this. I think it’s important to note: this isn’t a port. This is recreated from the ground up for the Wii. So while it borrows things like story and location, there are many changes from the 360 beyond the obvious graphical ones.†- Christian Svensson, Capcom’s Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

I can't believe i was raging 1 week ago, now i look at the list of games i need to buy, and i pass out X_X Still, is this kinda like an Arcade game? When i die, will it show the time i survived? Or it has save function?
Dante
The Xbox360 verison had set events at different times on the three days your at the mall and the only way to save was at the right time that you need to save or lose time key events by saving. Although I agree the aiming was horrendous on the original and it sounds like they'll sort it out which can only be good.

I know, I'm just messing about after out little debate and then egg on my face after Nintendos conference I like Dead Rising 360, intrigued by this but not overly excited, it will have to do some good things for me to buy it day 1! jayseven
I really, really wanted SO HARD to love the 360 version, but the save function really got to me. If it wasn't the psycho in teh food court, or the psycho clown by some weird monorail then it was the three psychos in a JEEP with some massive GUN that always killed me before I could save it. So with the Wii version we get some sort of better save function, but at the cost of a) the photo challenges, b) the time pressure, c) the massive numbers of zombies, d) the graphics and e) the achievements! Certainly a rent-first, if you ask me. But then, if you don't own an xbox360 then I guess you, too, should try your damndest to love the game

LegoMan1031
*chuckles at the graphics* Never even played the 360 version but just seeing this coming to wii is actually making me want the 360 version. Don't think i will be buying this but its good that something like this is comin to the wii, anythin that is different from the normal mini-game fest of games is good imo! I'm also a bit confused because it sounds like they have kind of made this have levels and I'm sorry but the graphics are not good. Is the memory so poor on the Wii that everyone has such trouble getting an even vaguely decent texture out of it? Most of the bits in that screenshot look flat shaded practically! Considering that the RE4 engine had some nice lighting and stuff, shouldn't dropping the content into it and coming out with something good looking actually be relatively easy? D_prOdigy
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop includes the following features: • Utilizes the same engine as Resident Evil 4 Wii edition. This. This is not just common sense. This is extra matured, finely-crafted common sense handed down through generations of Japanese heritage. This is not just a Wii port. This is a Capcom Wii port. In all seriousness, though, this is going to be a very different game from its 360 counterpart. All respect to the original, but Capcom have made it very clear that this one is made with fun in mind, and if people find that a good enough excuse to bitch and moan about the game, then all freedom to them. Since when do Capcom announce games that aren't intended to be fun? :p I think this shows a fair bit of promise but it's going to have to be better or extremely different (unlikely) from the 360 version to attract me. Foxfear
Never heard of Project Nyumber 03 before Also the title "Chop 'till you drop" is really lame imo It's like "only objective: chop 'till you drop" ==> end of game: objective complete = really lame :S
