Aimless Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 is it worth it then? have ordered it from the konami store. Also got Portable Ops now ready for when I get my PSP in a few weeks. If it peaked your interest in the first place then I'm sure you'll get your money's worth. As I said, it's a curio; I wasn't being disparaging, that's just what it is.

I can get what you mean about it from what I understand, you mean it would be better Phonex Wright style perhaps? btw; Do I have you on PSN? If not add me! Don't recognise the tag Ferine.

I was just musing, really. The interaction required could have been much more smoothly integrated via a touchscreen, but it isn't 'broken' or anything. Sure thing, although I'm afraid I don't have a headset at present; I'm waiting on the official one. Incidentally I'm Ferine on MGO, too.

Domo Kun Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Digital Graphic Novel isn't great at all. It's a bit dull really.
Guest Jordan Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 What the fuck are Konami doing charging £21 for a t shirt on their store?
S.C.G Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 What the fuck are Konami doing charging £21 for a t shirt on their store? Ripping people off... because they can... the shaaaaaame of it all.
Caris Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 What the fuck are Konami doing charging £21 for a t shirt on their store? I think the bigger question is why would anyone want a game based clothing.
flameboy Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Digital Graphic Novel isn't great at all. It's a bit dull really. Well I've got it now, cost £10.49. Not getting my PSP till next week tho.
Domstercool Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I think the bigger question is why would anyone want a game based clothing. Because some of them are damn good, well the ones I have *Strokes Killer 7 shirt*
flameboy Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Because some of them are damn good, well the ones I have *Strokes Killer 7 shirt* yeah I have some pretty cool ones as well... I quite like the one with just naked snakes face on it but I'm not paying £21 for it.
dwarf Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 is there any way of telling mid-act whether you've killed someone? i just did a long section and just after i manned a turret on drebins truck and im not sure if i killed someone or not. pisses me off my forgetful mind... also, in this section gekkos and mini tanks don't count as kills right
flameboy Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 What about when you are on top of drebins tank and when you are on the bike? Must be really hard not to kill anyone then?
dwarf Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Yeah I just did the Drebin section and I just didn't shoot anything just incase, apart from the gekkos. I could get away with this on Liquid Easy mode. I got caught out once where I was shooting a Gekko and almost without realising I killed a soldier who was trying to climb up the front of Dreb's truck. I don't think I even hit him, but i know it was me. Anyway, finished Act 2 now with no alerts no kills. All is good! And Flameboy, I think there is a shotgun that you can change shells to V-Ring ammo, which is non lethal - can't remember if you can use it on bike section though. ( might be too heavy )
dwarf Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Yeah, I completed the game with no kills, no alerts and no recovery items. Will test the bandana and Stealth Camo out another time.
dwarf Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Cheers. I'm not gonna even attempt Big Boss, the main thing putting me off being time limit and no recovery items. That is insane. May be a stupid question but you can't use Stealth Camo or Bandana for that emblem can you? Are there some emblems that you can use these with? Anyway, the stealth camo is really cool, just fun to be able to piss around and search everywhere with little worry. The no kill/no alert run begins to grate if you forget to save. Choze, do you have any ideas of cool things to do when you have s.camo, e.g funny claymore deaths etc?
flameboy Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Well I just completed MGS;Portable Ops clocking in at 14 hours...bit slow from what I know about other peoples times.... Anyway why do I mention this? I am totally Metal Gear'd out...the last 3 games I have completed have been MG games...but one day I am gonna go back to MGS4 and do the no kills at least...anything more than that is above my level of play I think.
dwarf Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I reckon most people could do the no kills/ no alert thing. The first time through the game when you watch all the cut scenes it makes everything seem so epic, and it is, but there's actually only about 8 hours of gameplay if you go at a casual pace. You can do it flameboy, and believe me, the benefits you get are very cool.

tapedeck Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 May get this one day...Seems "alright" I guess. Never really liked them as they stressed the hell out of me. All that sneaking about made me too tense and I couldn't work out what the hell was going on half the time. (only played Twin Snakes and MGS2). Strange that I adored the GBC version then...
dwarf Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I think this is more accessible to play than the others because of the way it is easier to control the camera-angle, so it's better for beginners. And you can also shoot your way out of situations.
Zelda_Rulez Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Finished the game yesterday and the last moments were amazing. I'll probably go through this game again for some other emblems. Seeing Snake go through the microwaves was really painful to watch with his suit blowing up every few steps. And the scenes with Liquid were awesome, fighting each other at first and then Snake breaking his finger and kicking him away following with screaming LIQUID!! and him answering with SNAAAAAKE got me goosebumps. :p Then injecting eachother with the syringes was really cool as well. The fight itself was really well done, going through each game and Liquid's moves changing each time as well as the health bars and the names under them. I loved that Ocelot did the hand gesture when the Snake Eater part started, he did it again just before dying. The last part with the Old Snake music playing they were both worn out and were just throwing out punches, I just hit him four times in a row. :p Snake seemingly killing himself afterwards had me choked up a bit but when the credits rolled and I saw Big Boss at the end had me surprised. The following scene was really good as well and explained some last things. I just knew Big Boss would salute at the grave and he did it accompanied by the flashbacks to the MGS3 ending. All in all an amazing ending and final boss fight. The emblem I got was Hawk (together with Jaguar, Inchworm and Frog)
Domo Kun Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I just bought this- http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-7g-49-en-15-gako-70-2sq0.html Ga-ko alarm clock. Awesome. I hope it moves when the alarm goes off.
