Ok PS3 people, I want to become an engrossed PS3'er. I want a headset, a nice T.V and a good network connection that will reduce lag (wired box?)

What has everyone here got? When does the official headset arrive? What do you recommend for the best PS experience?

Enlighten me!

Just got my PS3 on Saturday 80GB model. I'm on Virgin Broadband 10mbit and use a buffalo wireless router. I play on a 32" Samsung with HDMI.

As for a headest I should get this in the post tomorrow Jabra BT5010 Multipoint Bluetooth Headset Was £49.99 now £9.99 and the customer feedback is very good and most folk have bought them for their PS3!

I got Burnout through the post today I bought it from EBAY along with Resistance and GTA4 all for £43 including postage!!!

Cookyman, Choze, Mike, awesome games. Not had more fun online with burnout than that. Twas awesome to see people crashing out, marked man was sooo much fun when a bunch of us were chasing one guy. Choze you bum, I swear the clock was on 0:00 but you managed to somehow find me and take me out. Ah and the time when I took out mike to win it in our earlier session was so.....orgasmic :heh: And the mid air takedown had me in fits of laughter too Choze. Cooky, had an awesome time hunting you down when I was in the cop car. Must do eet again!

Yeah was great fun and I did alright considering I'd only been playing for 30 minutes before going online (just got it today - thanks EBAY).

We should all get headsets - be even more fun!

I downloaded the harry potter demo from the store :)

Did the trick.

Now thats magic!

:heh:

I've always have wireless and it has never failed or slowed down on me, both on my 360 and PS3. Free yourself from wires.

Yer same here, had wireless with both, had no problems.

erm... I have just noticed that im getting graphic glitches on SSDHD on the screen that shows you how to control it. There is like a random block of grey goin across the screen.

Also i am now currently playing on burnout and its doin it all the time on this! i cant see where i'm goin sometimes!

HELP!

Anyone got any ideas? Or i'm i going to have to get sony to look at it?

EDIT: Oh and my setup is ps3 connected via HDMI to 32LG3000 (32" if that was not clear) running 720p in games, 1080p on the ps3 menu screen (mmmm lovely detailed themes :D) and wireless net that barely ever lets me down. Also have a headset but too lazy to use ¬_¬ next burnout session its going into use.

Yer it was fun! Although with me suffering from my graphic problems i kept steering off when in fact i didn't need to (walls kept randomly appearing in front of me or bars) Like models in the game appearing out of place kinda thing.

Try unplugging everything and giving all cables a good clean out (and your TV input). If that doesn't work call Sony. I googled it and it doesn't seem to be a consistent problem so perhaps could be a dodgy cable/TV connection and not the PS3 itself. Best of luck though!

Also used wireless have very few problems with it when playing online, although owing to it being virgin can be slow to download off PSN at night.

Sounds like I missed out on some good Burnout dammit!

Was just staring at the PS3 XMB for a little bit while a demo downloads so I can play Ratchet and Clank and I noticed that "Folding@home" thing and I thought to myself... Does anyone actually use it? personally I don't as my PS3 isn't on that often anyway.

So do you use it? was just curious.

Ah cheers for the responses, may have to get that headset Cooky.

As for my wireless connection, it is fine with Resistance, it's just on Unreal and Fifa it can be very annoying.

So will plugging in ethernet help the problem? I hope it does!

No Quest for Booty disc for UK

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=234548

Sony has decided not to release a Blu-ray version of Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty in the UK after all.

The rest of Europe will still get the disc, but according to a spokesperson, Sony decided - when the time came - that the existing PSN download would be enough for us.

Bad news for those living in caves or trees or underwater, then. Or, simply, those not keen on sitting through a 3.2GB download for a slightly unremarkable add-on.

Quest for Booty, in case you didn't know, has Ratchet (but not Clank, who is missing) chasing treasure, drinking rum, exploring caves and bopping robot pirate baddies.

I think it'd be a good decision for Sony. QfB really is a PSN game.

But I don't think it is true to be honest.

Ethernet will always be faster @ Dwarf.

I've never used Folding at home... :o

Oh and if anyone wants some GTA4 online action tonight...I'll be online from 8pm - 9pm.

Ok, i'll give that a try, i would of thought though if it was a cable problem i was having wouldn't it do it on the menu screen as well?

Also i dont actually turn my ps3 'off' i will turn it off but not by the switch on the back, just on the button at the front... Could that cause any problems???

Wouldn't have thought so...

I saw some GFX issues with some PS3's on Youtube, have a look at some of them. However, none of the comments said anything about fixes. If it keeps on happening call Sony ;) Or if it's within a year old, video it on your phone and show them in the store you got it from, they should exchange it for you. (Gamestation changed mine srtaight away).

Shin Sangoku Musou Multi Raid (Monster Hunter Warriors) has been announced for the PSP. This new Dynasty Warriors title is based on Chinese mythology and features multiplayer co-op play where players band together to fight hordes of monsters and presumably bosses.

Okay, I went onto the UK store and I couldn't seem to see any playable demos of note. Also VERY difficult to find them, why there isn't a demo tab I have no idea. Decided to check out the US one and low and behold theres a demo tab and lots of good demos...... Am I missing something here?

Also, though the fifa demo was supposed to be out soon!

Ah, so it is just a case of it being crap? What is it with European branches of gaming companies :)

And fifa tomorrow, good good. Just waiting on Forced Unleashed demo now; definitely getting it on the Wii, lets see if I'm going to get the PS3 version as well; I've heard they're pretty different games.

Yeah, the store is pretty poor like.

I wasn't too keen on the force unleashed demo. It screamed "Wii" to me though! :heh:

Just been playing the NHL 09 demo. Aint played an NHL game since about 1994 so I never had a clue what to expect. I saw the great IGN review so thought I'd try it. OMG OMG OMG It's AWESOME!! And it even has NHL '94 control options in there *faints*

I urge all you sporting fans to try it : peace:

I was really holding off downloading Quest for Booty and waiting for the disc but I cracked this week and not a moment too soon because I would of exploded knowing I've waited this long for nothing. Bring on WipeOut HD!

Call Sony, they should replace it by the end of the week if it is less than a year old.

Ok, i will ring them tomoz then (i got mine end of jan from GAME). Thanks!

Considering the 360 is ment to be the most unreliable console it is the only one that hasn't broke on me yet, lol.

Just thought Daft, when u sent urs off did u have to do anythin to transfer trophies etc or do sony do that?

I have already put all my save data onto a USB flash drive.

I didn't send mine off. They arranged a time to come to my house and swap it so I was only really without disk games for four days.

Trophies are tied to your PSN ID so don't worry about those.

You only need to back-up your saves which you've already done.

If you have any questions just ask Sony on the phone. They are really helpful. Best customer service I've come across.

So what do you guys think of HD? Do you think there's much difference in quality on PS3 when you have the HDMI plugged in?

If you have an HD TV I think it is pretty important. I'm playing on a SDTV at the moment until we get the big TV out of storage and games still look fantastic.
