Choze Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I am going to pass on the game. Wait till its cheaper. tHe arcade version is the same old Street Fighter, not seeing the 'revolutionary' side at all.
Mike Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I had another go at this today after giving up the other day. Practised super and ultra moves, and after about two hours, finally managed to beat arcade mode on easy with Crimson Viper (not that I even managed to pull off any super or ultra moves in any of the fights). It was a total fluke, but it felt great to finally do it. :p Still think they made easy mode far too hard, though.
Shorty Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Easy mode has always been tricky at first, but when you master medium or hard, going back to easy will be a waltz.
Guest Jordan Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 The thing about SF is, I've never really tried to complex shit. But, SF4 seems suuuuuper complicated in places. Focus attacks in particular, cancelling, 2 super meters... Although I know some of this is due to the crappy for beat 'em ups XBOX controllers i've used.
Deathjam Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 ...Did almost no one here play SF3III? Mastering parrys seems much hader than what I have seen of anything in SF4. If so, I am looking forward to dominating some fellows here
Dan_Dare Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Parries were way beyond me- although I dare say the x box pad has something of a role in that debacle. I'm looking forward to starting over on my fightpad.
Dyson Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Unfortunately I've left it too late and can't get a fightpad anywhere and as a result now hate myself.
Mike Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Easy mode has always been tricky at first, but when you master medium or hard, going back to easy will be a waltz. I doubt very much I'll have the patience to master medium or hard.

If so, I am looking forward to dominating some fellows here I could parry projectiles without any problems at all, but normal attacks in proper combat? God no, that was just stupidly hard
Dan_Dare Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Unfortunately I've left it too late and can't get a fightpad anywhere and as a result now hate myself. lolanoob they'll be right back in stock dude. No worries.
Domstercool Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Looking forward to mastering this sweet boy! Bring on Constant online fights. Got so many on SF3 3rd strike
Babooo Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 can't wait for this....and the fight pad i ordered!
Dyson Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Question; can you play Xbox Originals over Xbox Live? If so, I feel the SF3 beatdowns coming on for a week. Except I never once learnt how to parry. :p
Dan_Dare Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 yeah I used to play halo 2 like that. Sometimes you need to use a SD tv though
Dan_Dare Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 big who cares? Ign is fail. EDGE gave it 9/10 months ago anyway.
Dyson Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Hmm, this doesn't say much for someone's fighting ability, Mike! :P http://kotaku.com/5152944/just-how-easy-is-street-fighter-iv-on-easiest When you can win round after round simply by pressing the hard kick button, you're either playing against me or playing Street Fighter IV on the ridiculously simply easiest difficulty.
Dyson Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Don't get it from play.com if you care about getting it for release.
Deathjam Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 i am scared at this video. Lmao WTF?! That, was simply awesome I think? Anyways, I'll just leave these here. Man do I love chun li...
Mike Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Okay, I feel stupid. Just realised that the 'Easy' difficulty level that I was constantly getting beaten by Seth on... wasn't actually the easiest level. In fact there are two levels easier than it. Much more suited to beat-em-up n00bs like me. :p Just unlocked Gen, Sakura and Rose in the space of about 45 minutes - that's more like it.
Dyson Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Yaaaay :p Congrats! Now how about sending a copy my way... :P
