I LOVE people having different opinions if they articulate it, but Mikey you are just flaming pure and simple. WHY is it a shame monster hunter isnt on the PS3/360, that would be interesting to know, and maybe if I havent seen you do this before (hero it isn't the second poster Ive unleashed a tirade of abuse at, its one poster twice) then it wouldnt have annoyed me but I havent seen one intelligent post from you, you come on a Wii bored and slag it off with the inteligence of a Nuts reader!

Tell me why HD grpahics will further the series more than a completely ne way to control the game? And I hear the online worries, it is a worry because its the one area Nintendo really need to sort; you never know, it could be sorted with, or veen before, this game.

Mikey: Why do you come here if you hate the Wii so much? Thats what I dont understand? And if you persist on coming here and slagging all thinsg Wii can you PLEASE get an informed opinion

The way it worked onlin on the PS2 was that you picked a Land which was either Green or Red. You then picked a server in that land and then you could enter a town ( max 8 people ) or create a room youself.

In the town you could go buy weapons or make them yourself and also go to the tavern and have a few pints. It was great getting drunk and seeing your character stumble around the place.

You then go to the desk and post a mission up that you want to do. The other hunters could then walk to the bulletin board in the tavern and look to see what mission it is and decide whether to join up or not. After you have the amount of people you want ( max 4 ) you set off on your quest to fight some massive Wyvern.

Man I loved that game.

EDIT: Dazzy you kicked off on either Ashmat or iPaul ( both ? ) in the sales topic as they said they didnt think the Wii had a good first 12 months or something.

That sounds really cool actually. Now that's the kind of online features I want in a game. Posting missions, going out to socialise with people and having your own room. It makes it more unique and fun experience.

But thing that can be odd is that the 2 online games the Cube had (albeit it was 3rd party) had key board support where as online games just now has no communication what so ever. They've taken a step back which is annoying. I mean you would have plenty of time in Endless Ocean, you could do it in BWii aswell but the potential just gets wasted. But with a big game like Monster Hunter 3, it will be done carefully so I have hope for a good online system with voice communication and I hope other 3rd partys like Square, would step up and follow Capcom with a similar service and boycott the friend codes.

That way everyones happy and Nintendo learn from having that horrid system.

Yeah I still havent a clue why they stuck to that system for the Wii. You are right in saying that Monster Hunter is a great social experience. I made loads of internet buddies when playing that and sometimes we would just hang around in the Tavern and sit and chat. You also got a great sense of belonging when playing with the people you made friends with and having random people come into a village and ask for help made it easy to make new friends aswell. This for me is what online gaming is all about, meet new people and become mates.

Yea that's what it's like for me. In Phantasy Star Online for the DreamCast and Cube where amazing due to me making good friends on them. I mean I would spend hours during the night just taking to a group of friends in a lobby and it was always fun. Then we would occasionaly do a mission or so in teams and see who got the most skills and who could do it the fastest. It was a load of fun.

My fisrt character which I racked 500 hours on, I made really good friends and we would meet up every day or two and for some I got their e-mail addresses and it was really fun because we always had something to do or talk about. But on a horrid day my file got corrupted and all my friends guild cards (what you use to contact in the game) got whiped and I was heart broken and spent hours trying to re-find them again and I never did so after the friends I lost it was never the same again and there hasn't been a game with good communication for me to start up again.

This is why I have hope for this because it can surpass PSO(might not be great but I loved it) and this has real potential which is exciting me a lot. If it's done right I can see this being played as much as Brawl with the online system alone and why i'm so hopefull for this.

People can call it geeky or sad or whatever but it's the feeling of companionship and socialisation that can really make an online game what it is and is a core element which Nintendo is removing which is really annoying me.

Never said the game will suck, I said due to hardware limitations, that it probably won't be as good as if it was released on the PS3. The Wii just can't do things which the PS3 can do. Graphics, AI, physics, scope, etc.. I don't care about brands, I just want the best games to come out and be the best they can be, and if that means them coming out on the PS3 or 360 over the Wii, then I'm all for it. This game being canceled on the PS3, and coming out on the Wii is a step back in quality.

Hmmm, yeah that was ipaul :) very similar to Mikey.

Nothing annoys me more than obnoxious people. I like discussion and debate and these people just shit all over it.

As for monster Hunter, sounds awesome, due to the fact the game aint out for a long time, I'm confident that the online and headset situation will be sorted.

Would Mario Galaxy be better on the 360 or PS3? Metroid? Zelda?

With your argument wouldn't most games be better on the 360 or PS3? With such a limited viewpoint why do you feel the need to come on the wii board and remind everyone that the games we're looking forward to and love playing would be better if it was on the 360 or PS3?

Do you see me going onto the 360 board saying orange box, halo and every single FPS (which are the only good games on the 360 ;) ) would be better on the Wii because the Wii remote makes FPS's iniftely better? No. I do believe that but what good would that do on a 360 board? All I'm going to do is piss people off.

The only people who could get pissed at my posts are fanboys. I don't like throwing accusations around, but in this case it's clear. You'd think I insulted your mother by your reaction for god sake.

In its current state the online section of the Wii isnt ideal. Sure it may get better but given Nintendos stance with online play and the whole friend code system I dont have my hopes high.

What im saying is that anyone who has played on Live and who also has a Wii can easily agree that any online game that comes out on the Wii NOW would be better played online via a 360. It has a great friend system, a headset and you dont end up with error codes.

Im not having a stab at the Wii and I dont think Shadow or khilafah was either. I think we just know that online gaming has so much more potential than what Nintendo are doing with it and yes the Wii has only been out 1 year but all of this kind of thing should have been ready at launch. They were last when it came to online gaming on the Cube and they said it would be addressed for the Wii yet it still hasnt and in this time that we live in it really should be.

Oh I know live is infinitely better and would love wfc to be as good or close; though I actually dont think it would take much. A headset and pretty much all games online would be enough for me, friendcodes are annoying but I aint that bothered.

Thing is, I'm not an online fan, I play DS online with my girlfriend; I play a little Wii with some friends (guitar hero, fifa and strikers) and I have phases on live (gears and Ghost Recon) but I just dont enjoy playing against strangers, only friends. And I'd rather them be in the room with me every single time - its not a deal breaker for me, hence why I love the Wii and rarely play 360.

I really don't like the way you're provoking reactions and then to go "fanboy! fanboy!" like you're doing now. I respect your opinion, but you knew that a post like that is going to have people started - posting a post like that anyway is flaming. I'm not defending the people who attacked you here, but if you're going to start on that topic, be more subtle and elaborate about it. It's not the first time you've done this, either, you're getting on people's nerves (and I hope you're not enjoying that).

I can see where you are coming from and im very much like you. I prefer a single player game than an online one. What makes the difference with this and PSO was that it required you to be a team and not just go around shooting each other. When working together friendships were made and good times were had.

Sure a headset would be nice but aslong as the servers are stable and you can at least use a keyboard I will be a happy man. At least if there is no headset you wont have to listen to screaming kids :)

One thing I hope Capcom do again is keep the Euro servers seperate from the US and Japan as it was a much better atmosphere when playing.

EDIT: Mikey mate we get you dont like that its on the Wii so lets all try and play nice and not provoke people, ok?

I'm not provoking anything, not deliberately anyway. This is a forum for opinions, and it's clear the only people who could possibly be pissed off at me are fanboys. I can't see any other way any one could be pissed off at what I'm saying other than fanboyism.

Unless it's against the rules to post anything negative about anything to do with Nintendo on this forum, I'm going to keep doing it when I feel like it.

If you read carefully you see that they didn't attack your opinion per se, but your behaviour. Your behaviour tied with your opinion, but you don't have to give up your opinion to be more careful than you are being now, on this subject.

Oh, come on! Get off your high horse, you don't have a right to be on this forum, it is a privilege (that is in the rules). You're really breaking the atmosphere on the boards with the stuff you (maybe unwillingly) provoke. Don't be an arse and take a step back if it's necessary. Personally I value people like you and Caris as it adds some fire to the discussions, but at least bear in mind that not everybody takes it well.

I never said that I had the right to be on this forum, I said unless it's against the rules to post something negative about Nintendo, then I am going to keep on doing it when I feel it is justified. I didn't create any arguments in this thread, people's reactions did. If people can't take opinions well, then they probably shouldn't be on forums which allow for free speech.

I don't even think the Wii totally sucks ass anyway. I actually think the controller is great, I just think it is pathetically under powered and over priced.

Online cop-op does sound amazing actually, although I never got into everquest it always interested me the idea of getting a team and hunting monsters, this game is definitely up there for me.

And Mikey you can slag off Nintendo all you like, and you do, but coming onto a game discussion and saying the game could have been good but it'll be shit cos it's on the Wii. How is that JUST giving your opinion? It's flamebait pure and simple. It's like an Arsenal fan going on to a tottenham forum and saying you guys are pretty shit arent you, you're not as good as us. Yes it's their opinion and they're entitles to it, but what is the point in it?

Like I said before you dont see other people doing it on the OTHER boards because it serves no purpose.

And I'm not a fanboy....well maybe I am, but I have had every single console bar the PS3 ever, but I do prefer Nintendo yes.

...Christ.

In my eyes Mikey has said nothing so offensive as to get a response like this. Infact what he initially stated may be fact; visuals aside MH3 on Wii may have many other limitations that may have not have been the case if it were released on PS3 or 360. And I can understand he's overal viewpoint; this is why games like MGS4 and FF13 are being released on the 'low-selling' PS3 and not the 'really successful' Wii where they most probably could have reached their profit margins far quicker.

If certain people feel provoked to go ape shit by certain posts then it is they who should consider taking a time-out or better still make their own forum where they can agree to their own posts and not allow other opinions to interfere. Just a thought.

Mikey: For me, what struck me about your comment was the way you said it could potentially be a great game on the PS3. Why can't it potentially be a great game on the Wii?

We've got potentially great games on the system, and from the likes of Mario Galaxy and Corruption, you can get a lot out of the system if you try, and this is a big franchise...not something the developers are going to take lightly.

But isn't this game supposed to be highly online? That is where I see the limitations of the Wii. Those great Wii games you've mentioned are highly offline. To my knowledge the PS3 has had about 3 updates that has improved its online network, but it seems nothing is being done with the Wii's network where it has come to a point where the developers of a highly anticipated game (Brawl) has to somewhat declare to expect flaws. Never really heard that from developers such as EA with online games like C&C.

Nobody's really gone ahead and done anything drastic with the Wii in terms of online. It's about time somebody took the plunge.

Apparently, Dragonball Z 3's online service on the Wii is what brought that game down.

I'm not familiar with that game, aren't the DBZ games usually fighters? Or have I got that wrong?
