"Welcome to what will be the talest structure in the UK outside of London.

VTP200, or Vertiplex 200. Its the British stratoshphre tower, oh and my god its ten times better.

vtp200.png

It will be home to some of the worlds most extreme activites, from a see saw ride over the top, to a the UK's Highest Bungey jump. All in one city, Birmingham. The British city of entertainment.

So what will it include-

Tower Rides:

The Giant Drop - an 8 person free-falling lift that drops 95 metres into the base of the building. This will be the tallest free falling lift in Europe;

The See-Saw - an 8 person vehicle which plummets over the edge of the tower at 125 metres;

20 Flight Trainers - interactive joystick-controlled capsules which spin around the building at a height of 110 metres.

Extreme activites:

The Walk of Fear - allows you to walk around the outside of the building at 115 metres,

The Climb to the Top - allows you to climb to the top of the tower and have your photograph taken against the city skyline;

The Sky Jump - a 100 metre high speed descent, controlled by a super fast winch, which gives the jumper the experience of free falling;

The Bungee Jump - the UK's highest controlled Bungee jump.

The base of the tower will include restaurants, retail units, educational facilities, a 250-bedroom hotel, a rock climbing wall, the lift boarding platform and ticketing booths.

This just once again confirms my view that Birmingham does indeed rock more than most people think.

too true! when i came here i had heard so much crap about the city being crap, but i love it. lived here for 4 years now, and just like it more and more. The eastside development looks good, and its so close to town too.

The council would have to be complete fools to not give this planning permission. It would slam into peoples minds that Birmingham=awesome and would become a distinctive architectural landmark which at the moment Birmingham lacks a bit (at the moment I can only think of the Bullring).

Birmingham need to bring back the Formula One, or at least F3000.

Oh and it's good to see Birmingham getting a Stratosphere. I've been to the one in Vegas, you'll like it (as long as your not afraid of heights).
