ReZourceman Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Oh yeah, I thought he looked a little dodgy in places but I quite liked it actually.
Dan_Dare Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 yeah Cyclops looked weird (though I get the idea- he's supposed to be 'slim') otherwise the issue was amazing. Schism is shaping up way better than Fear Itself, to be honest.
Happenstance Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I still think its rediculous. He may have been slim when he was a teenager and got the nickname but its been years and the amount of teams he's led and training he has got he would never look like he did in Schism #2. Plus its such a big contrast to how he looks in every other book, you cant just make a jump that big.
Dan_Dare Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Yeah it was a bit silly. That said, artists should be able to have their own take on characters, I just think they went a bit far.
Paj! Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Just cause Greg Land traces a porn actor for Cyclops (and everyone else for that matter) shouldn't mean that's what the character 'looks like'. And yeah, it's interpretations. I liked it in that respect. I don't have the interior art to hand, but he looks fine there. The wavy-haired Abercrombie model with stubble really isn't in line with the character right now, who has been portrayed increasingly as a military-style leader, forced to make tough decisions and stuff. He's about control. It's a look that fits, for me. [/my view] Edited August 9, 2011 by Paj!
Paj! Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Surge and Moonstar are comparing fists, X-23 is bent over, Magick looks coy, old perve Magneto watching from the shadows...filth.
Dan_Dare Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 It properly looks like she's squeezing out a dump.
Murr Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 n00b question time Is the 'Three' Storyline about the Fantastic 4 available in TPB yet? I've had a good look online but can only assume i'm not looking correctly. reason I ask is that I've just seen (yeah I know, really late to the party) the new Fantastic 4 lineup with Spiderman and the new outfits and I'm kinda interested in it. But I'd like to read how they go from 4 to three and to how Spiderman is included.
Happenstance Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I dont follow the Fantastic Four but as far as I can tell this is the hard cover with the Three storyline in it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fantastic-Jonathan-Hickman-Marvel-Hardcover/dp/0785148914/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312901846&sr=1-1 After that you'll have to wait for the first FF trade to come out with Spidey etc in it.
Daft Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Question. So I've been away for two weeks and totally lost track of when I got what and stuff. Is Batman: Knight of Vengeance #3 out yet? (Also, Flashpoint #4) Also, anyone read Tank Girl?
Daft Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I have no money.... Edit: lol, now wait, turns out I do. One last question, what issue is Batman Inc on? Because I swear I was up to date with #7 but apparently #10 is about to come out/is out. Also, heads up DisposableHeroes now has a website instead of eBay. ( http://www.disposableheroes.co.uk ) I like them. They do free delivery and are always fast and shit and they seem well priced. Probably. Maybe. Edited August 9, 2011 by Daft
Paj! Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 ^Yeah that's good prices. £2.05 = $2.99 and £2.50 = $3.99 is a decent conversion in comic pricing terms. Free delivery...I'm seriously tempted. This might be my new comic shop...(sorry poor local comic shop business trying to survive)
ReZourceman Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 INSIDE INFORMATION ; DC Might be putting £ pricing on their covers. :P ----------- Daft; I was going to say last night (wasn't sure if I should have) that Tank Girl (didn't seem like my thing) and the types of people who I (specifically) know of of liking it are the types of nerds who collect samurai swords and have shed loads of pornography. Not that those two hobbies are bad, but the types of people who's SOUL interests are those things. :p No offense. But hey, I've never read it.
gmac Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) todays X-Men teaser, this time Wolverine's team Edited August 9, 2011 by gmac
Dan_Dare Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 There's a preview for New Avengers Annual #1 out. It's about Wonder Man. Specifically, his long gestating aversion to The Avengers. He's assembled his own team of Revengers (mmm...OK!) who look a bit like the Masters of Not That Evil. Expect fisticuffs.
Daft Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Daft; I was going to say last night (wasn't sure if I should have) that Tank Girl (didn't seem like my thing) and the types of people who I (specifically) know of of liking it are the types of nerds who collect samurai swords and have shed loads of pornography. He was talking about some of the Tank Girl fans he met at ComiCon in San Diego and they were all kinds of wrong.
Dante Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU One last question, what issue is Batman Inc on? Because I swear I was up to date with #7 but apparently #10 is about to come out/is out. It is upto #8 and is out in 24th August. Inc #9 and #10 have merged into over-sized one-shot titled "Batman Incorporated: Leviathon Strikes which is going to be release between September - October.
Dan_Dare Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Yeah man, it's going to be absolutely sick. Aaron is easily the best x-writer going at the moment I reckon. Kieron Gillen is also pretty good but I think he's struggling with the Utopia setting left by Fraction. I'm hoping he picks up his own game a bit more after Schism ends.
Paj! Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 todays X-Men teaser, this time Wolverine's team Seems like Hope is the obvious on the top left, and that Shadowcat is emerging from the ground on the right. People are guessing Anole as the kind lumpy guy...but would he really be in the promo art for this team? I guess if turns out Danger is on Emma's team, anything is possible...
Happenstance Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Quite sad reading some of the DC comics this month with a lot of them ending. Just finished Red Robin and Batgirl, the end of both of those runs and two which ive really enjoyed.
