Happenstance Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Gwen Stacy may have been cloned and raped as a character but shes stayed dead
DomJcg Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Depends, if we are talking about supporting characters then alot of them do die, (harold allnut in batman hush eg) but main ones hardly ever, i dunno if caps gonna even stay dead tbh.
ReZourceman Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Caps definitely dead. I know it doesn't mean much but Marvel have said loads that they're not brining him back, and I don't think they will.
Shorty Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Cap will come back, they always do. If not now, then in years and years when the people running marvel have all retired and a completely new generation is making the decisions.
ReZourceman Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Nah I seriously don't think he will. Marvel are actually doing pretty awesomely at the moment. They seem to be realising that characters have to age, and develop so they are brining in a lot of younger characters, new characters and developing them. Anyone else read Secret Warriors? Seriously that shit was badass.

Except for Spider-Man, who they pretty much reset....and raped
ReZourceman Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Just read the latest issue of Deadpool. Soooo funny. That was probably the funniest comic I've ever read actually, two bits made me piss myself, one literally hilarious. And the storys awesome. God I love Paco Medinas artwork. Thunderbolts are on the last page and they look....so so so badass. Deadpool sends Norman a hilarious fax.
Shorty Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I've never read anything with Deadpool, but I just started playing as him on Marvel Ultimate Alliance and he's awesome
Happenstance Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I think ive got a few issues of Cable and Deadpool and I did like those, unfortunately I started getting those just as I had one of my way too frequent drops in comic interest so I never carried on with them.
Happenstance Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Anyone use forbiddenplanet.co.uk before? Never bothered before but their hard cover prices are quite good so thought I might get some. Any idea on how long delivery takes?
not_so_tiny Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Anyone use forbiddenplanet.co.uk before? Never bothered before but their hard cover prices are quite good so thought I might get some. Any idea on how long delivery takes? From my experience Forbidden Planet have been great, pretty fast delivery, about 3-4 days, and as you said, they're prices are really good.
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Thats good then thanks. I'll probably wait until tomorrow afternoon now when im back from town. Just incase I can find the Hardcovers for near the price Forbidden Planet have them, its doubtful but worth a look I think.
Shorty Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I have heard nothing but bad things about forbiddenplanet.co.uk - I personally have bought something and it never arrived, about 4 months later I got an email saying it was out of stock. Friends of mine have had similar experiences. http://forbiddenplanet.com/ on the other hand is much better, they are actually 2 totally different companies. the .co.uk is the Forbidden Planet International (ironically) and personally I think they're shite. On a completely unrelated note, Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon has silly lyrics in its opening song: "Looking up with no surprise, arriving in the speed of time". Speed of time? Wtf is that??
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Gonna go into my comic shop tomorrow and try and fill the holes in issues that I need with Spider-Man and Uncanny X-Men, along with any others I notice. Might try and jump onto a few others, possibly Green Lantern and Superman. Anyone know which relatively new issues would be the best jump on points for those two? Also any other suggestions on what might be worth jumping onto at the moment would be great.
ReZourceman Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 If you can locate the one off special Final Crisis : Rage of the Red Lanterns that would be perfect. Green Lantern wise if you "Secret Origin" its good, but only available in tiny DC hardback which I think are a bit overpriced, if not then, good jumping on is #36 (I recommend Sinestro Corps aswell though, as somewhat essential) This website is amazing btw. Shows comics including all variant front covers. http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/LiveData/Search.aspx
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Thanks a lot, i'll take a look tomorrow. I still do plan to get Sinestro Wars, its just one of those I havent gotten around to as for HCs im still planning on getting Walking Dead 1 and Invincible 2 first.
ReZourceman Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Can't argue with that, all of them being in the top 4 comics IMO.
DomJcg Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Course he has i get chills watching the trailer now =D
ReZourceman Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 ReZ, have you read Watchmen? Course he has i get chills watching the trailer now =D Yeah I have, and yeah Dom me too! I didn't even LOVE the graphic novel that much, I thought it was great but felt it was slightly dated, but still excellent, but yeah that trailer just looks ridiculously good, how its so perfect to the novel, and Rorshhaarrrkkskchhhs lines being bought to life.... God just awesome.
Mundi Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 As cool as Rawshark is in the movie I don´t really like his voice. In the comic it´s described as being emotionless so I always imagined him having a monotone voice not sounding like Batman.....
Happenstance Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Just got back from town, managed to pick up some comics, I got: Green Lantern: #36 Civil War #5 Ultimate Spider-Man #128, 129, 130 Amazing Spider-Man #583, 585 Ultimatum #2 Wolf-Man #9 Deadpool #7 Uncanny X-Men #505 Gonna go onto Reed Comics now and order some more to fill in the gaps I think
Dan_Dare Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 isn't Jean Grey finally dead? last I saw of her Magneto gave her a brain hemmorage. I know she's died about twenty times before but it felt like they really did kill her, what with cyclops getting his rocks off with Emma Frost n all.

That being that she will probs appear sporadically for a variety of reasons, like in the Phoenix Endsong and Warsong series.
