Deathjam Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Even you Bard have to admit, Soul Calibur can be played with a regular controller. I mean, it being a 3D beat 'em up means an analouge works quite well, in comparison to say Street Fighter IV which will play ... not so well. Can't remember, but I think I still played SC with the Dpad.
The Bard Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Even you Bard have to admit, Soul Calibur can be played with a regular controller. I mean, it being a 3D beat 'em up means an analouge works quite well, in comparison to say Street Fighter IV which will play ... not so well. Yeah, totally, I mean, SC2 is still one of the only fighters I've ever played that works quite well with an analogue stick of all things. A regular controller shouldn't handicap you like it does in VF or SF, but I still prefer the added utility of an arcade stick, so that's how I'll be playing.
flameboy Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Yeah I am going to pick up a stick for SF4 anyway so fingered may pick it up for this. watched last weeks 1up Show... only had 4 playable characters but still makes me look forward to it so much.
Daft Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 From best to worst imo: 1. PAL PS3 2. JAP PS3 3. JAP 360 4. PAL 360
Roostophe Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Fuck off, I don't want fucking Yoda on my SCIV cover! Fuck, I don't even want Yoda in SCIV any-bloody-way!
flameboy Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Boxarts From best to worst imo: 1. PAL PS3 2. JAP PS3 3. JAP 360 4. PAL 360 I'd say JAP PS3 is the best...I hate box arts where nothing is happening and its just a series of other pictures stuck together...I want a fight scene or some great art work...not just 3 character pictures, a sword and a logo slapped on a cover... The 360 covers just look plain odd...
Daft Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I'd agree but there is a bit too much Vader in the Japanese one, but you're right, action looks better than floating heads. ...Are their swords absurdly huge?? Looks a bit weird imo.
flameboy Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Yeah I did think Vader's lightsaber looked stupidly long...
Daft Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Now there's another Star Wars character? Bit late to the table my friend! New stupidly out of place character revealed.http://www.jeuxvideo.fr/apprenti-dark-vador-soulcalibur-actu-142860.html Darth Vader apprentice from "The Force Unleashed"... :shakehead
Babooo Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Those box arts are poor. Really poor. All of them. Poor.
flameboy Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Hopefully someone will make a great custom one to put on instead!
That Guy Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 That's embarrassing. Proof at last that Star Wars is evil. I'm not buying this.
Daft Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 That's embarrassing. Proof at last that Star Wars is evil. I'm not buying this. You're not buying this because of box art you'll not really look at and 3 Star Wars characters you don't have to play as?
Dan_Dare Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 boxart is truly shite. Oh well, I'll just ignore it once I have a copy.
Deathjam Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 boxart is truly shite. Oh well, I'll just ignore it once I have a copy. If it's as good as the first or second games, then you wont see much of the box and it wont leave your machine for quite awhile. The 3rd lacked something despite all they put into it.
Solo Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 boxart is truly shite. Oh well, I'll just ignore it once I have a copy. Yeah, I'm all for the Star Wars characters and everything but sticking them on the front just looks crapolicious, and it may confuse some poor sod into thinking it's Star Wars in the 18th Century.
Dan_Dare Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Yeah, I'm all for the Star Wars characters and everything but sticking them on the front just looks crapolicious, and it may confuse some poor sod into thinking it's Star Wars in the 18th Century. you know...you may have just stumbled across the next great idea in cinema.
Guest Jordan Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 FYI: Soul Calibur is set in the 1600's... so its the 17th century
