Ash Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 How cheap is cheap, Most 1GB cards now days are below £10 if you look on the online stores, Play have a sale on at the moments with cheap SD Cards.
Aisutora Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 If I were you I'd go for the2GB SanDisk Wii SD card. It's made for the Wii console It can be found here: blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=119532
blender Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 If I were you I'd go for the2GB SanDisk Wii SD card. It's made for the Wii console i really woundnt as you are paying extra for the nintendo branding for no reason. mind you thats a good price link you added
christophicus Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Yeah I'd check out play.com . THey are the best for memory stick pro duo's at least.
Gizmo Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-Technology-1GB-Digital-SD/dp/B00070QI1I/ref=pd_bbs_2/026-1200222-0897234?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1176248953&sr=8-2 Enjoy.
gekko Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 ONM are offering a free 1gb SD card with new subscriptions. May be worth thinking about if you don't already subscribe. SSX Blur is lots of fun - I'd definitely recommend it.
Gizmo Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Stuwii, I have the 2gb version and it works perfectly. Transfer times are slower than others, but if you can get over that, it's brilliant value.
Charlie Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 eBay also have stupidly cheap (and new) SD cards.
blender Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 eBay also have stupidly cheap (and new) SD cards. they are often fakes so beware

Solidus Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Any brand/type of sd card I should avoid? Which is the best regardless of price?
ThePigMarcher Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Have just picked up a Wii branded Sandisk 1GB card from play. Probably a bit more than some other brands but at £8.99 its the cheapest I have seen that one going for.
Excelle Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I would recommend Sandisks. I've had a couple in my digital camera for over 3 years without a hiccup. Plus they're not unreasonably priced either.
Gizmo Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Have just picked up a Wii branded Sandisk 1GB card from play. Probably a bit more than some other brands but at £8.99 its the cheapest I have seen that one going for. I really, really don't get this. You could get a 2gb for that price, without the Nintendo logo on it. All SD Cards (up to 2gb in size) will work with the Wii and anything else! Really, you're only kidding yourself...
ThePigMarcher Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I can see where you are coming from Gizmo. I just prefer to stick to Sandisk cards (have used them in my mobile without any problems) and on hunting around this seemed to be comparable in price to their regular 1GB cards.
Solidus Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Just bought a 2gb Sandisk card off eBay for total of £8.60p. Fricking £3.99 of it is for postage. But hey, under a tenner so I'm happy.
Darkspine S Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 does anyone know any cheap 1 gb sd cards anywhere. im also planning on getting spiderman 3 and ssx blur for my birthday-any good? That brings up a good point. Hardly anything of S-M 3 wii is really known. Surely someones done a review by now?
flameboy Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I'm guessing it's going to be like a lot of movie licenses miss the magazine deadlines and not send it to gaming sites till later, for fear of people not getting it, if it gets less than great reviews, much rather them go see the movie then pick this up straight after...
Saminthehat Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 ONM are offering a free 1gb SD card with new subscriptions. May be worth thinking about if you don't already subscribe. SSX Blur is lots of fun - I'd definitely recommend it. I dunno, the magazine's pretty awful.
Flaight Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I tend to try amazon traders first, then just do a google search to compare prices. Best prices seem to vary from what I see. Highstreet prices bewilders me. Not SD cards, but I was looking at some microSD cards the other day, they cost like 20 quid for 1GB online. And highstreet stores sell 512MB one for 80... Taking the piss surely. The difference is astronomical.
