There is actually less information about this RE game than there is about Sadness.

At least we know Capcom is capable of making a game.

Yeah..and we have seen some footage..even if it was only that small amount on the wii's initial games showcase.

All I saw was a CG movie of around 4 seconds. Maybe there's a video I don't know about? That's like saying we've seen footage of Halo 3. Which we haven't, that was just a teaser that can be made in a day.

Anyway, I know we know that Capcom can make games, I was just saying. All we have on RE Umbrella Chronicles is a title. I wish we had more.

I'm not sure whether this is actually official...

You might get that actually. Well for Europe that is.

I want capcom to do for Wii what they have done for 360. Bring out some new fresh IPs and make them good ala dead rising and lost planet.

How much can we trust a blog post though?

I'd actually prefer a 2008 release for this one, honestly.

Chris Kholer is a reporter, the blog is for wired, he is VERY trustworthy.

Chris Kohler is extremely dependable, so there is no need to worry about it.

But the blog post is about Capcom having contacted him due to factual inaccuracies in his writeup of Treasure Island Z. And he linked to a blatant fan video, not official footage. I'm not saying he's a lier or a chronically bad journalist, I just think it's pretty funny that you called him 'dependable' given the situation.

Anyway, I see no reason why we won't see this game by the year's end. Presumably it'll be using a modified RE4 engine, and it isn't as if they don't have the assets for the original mansion lying around. I realise there's a lot more to it than that, but Capcom might have had a team working on this game for well over a year for all we know.

I think that's the important thing: at the moment we don't really know anything. Until we do, I see no reason to doubt Capcom's forecast of a 2007 release.

Alrighty, then let's keep our fingers crossed. Still, this game seems to be needing more development time.

How do you know? They can be witholding info just because they want to, that doesn't mean the game need more dev time. I mean, there are 9 months left to the year, they could have been working on the game for a year or so, the engine is mainly built, so I don't really see a problem.

Perhaps they are using the "Wait....wait....wait....BANG!" Tactic..

Instead of the RE4 tactic of

"Look! The game!...Wait...wait...look! This is now the game!...Wait...wait...look! This really is the game!...Wait...No, that wasn't the game...wait...wait..wait...wait...wait...Look!!!!! This really is the game!!!...Look! More of the game!...Wait...BANG! It's in the shops!"

Man, that was annoying...:shakehead

Usually when there is no hype, it ends up being a crappy game. Red steel is an exception i guess. All the non mainstream RE were a bit crappy. I'm hoping for a house of the dead clone
