Paj! Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 oh my god La Roux's album is fucking brilliant, forum. Top grade pop. Seriously, this is exactly how it should be done- crafted, razor sharp slices of perfection from proper artists. Best pop album since Overpowered. Words to be marked. I knew you'd love it. It is pretty awesome. I need to listen to the second half more, as it's more sedate, but it's all gooooood. ---- I also am liking Regina Spektor's new album, Far. It's more Begin To Hope in terms of style than her earlier stuff, but there're some great melodies dotted around the place.
Platty Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Hasn't the Highbury Garage been there ages, they've just rebranded it The Relentless Garage? Going to see New Found Glory there in August. Yeah but it was shut for ages while they re-done it. Pretty good job too.
Coolness Bears Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I LOVE THE TING TINGS forget the haters! Anyway I've been listening to Regina Spektors new album and it is intense. I love it. Brilliance to my ears. I tried out La Roux's album this morning! I was a bit disappointed. It was good but I was expecting more. There were a few cheeky tracks, I'mma give it a another listen at some point. In other news (I definately in the minority) I love Little Boots album. Also Bat For Lashes Two Suns continues to amaze me.
Roostophe Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I LOVE THE TING TINGS forget the haters! Oi! *Posts YouTube vid of a certain song.*
Ashley Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 In other news (I definately in the minority) I love Little Boots album. I love the album too. I know its not a brilliant album but its still good. And damn addictive, I just keep listening to it. While on the talk of new albums, listened to Paolo Nutini's new one (he's okay in a harmless background noise kind of way and figured for a flight...). Its okay. Some weird influences noticable though like...rastafarian.
Coolness Bears Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 This one, of course: Audio I'm still confused. :p (sorry) but I like the song! I love the album too. I know its not a brilliant album but its still good. And damn addictive, I just keep listening to it. I agree with you there, completely. On a side note I like your Sig/Avatar! I just saw Little Boots performing at Glastonbury on the TV. Good stuff.
Roostophe Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I'm still confused. :p (sorry) but I like the song! Well, you said "Forget the haters", as in people who hate The Ting-Tings. I am one of those people, hence...
Ashley Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I also hate the Ting Tings. By the way did nobody get this (its about some lame girl group song)? If so shame on you all! It's a grower. Did I forget to mention that? Yeah something's got you growing. I can't understand that comment, really, Ashbash...
Coolness Bears Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Oh right! I'm slow tonight! I'm on the same page as you now! : peace: Don't worry I'll never forget you! Or Ashley or anyone really it's just a phrase! (not meant literally)
Roostophe Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 By the way did nobody get this (its about some lame girl group song)? If so shame on you all! Obviously. So, then, tell us, what was there to "get"? Although, I have just now had an idea...but it can't be that...no.
Ashley Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Its a grower, not a shower ('show-er'). That phrase may help. If not, lets move on. Haha listening to Cut Copy's album and thinking "this is going on for aaaages" and just noticed, iTunes has duplicated each song. That would be why.
Platty Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Watching Bloc Party at Glasto even though I went to see them last night........ Same set too ha. Must have been the glasto warm gig I was at. Damn I love these guys so much. I'm so obsessed.
Paj! Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Ting Tings were surprisingly good live, when I saw them last year. Not so much a fan of the studio versions of any of their songs. --- In the battle of the Electronic Ladybots; La Roux> Little Boots> Ladyhawke

We all know Cameron would beat them all in a fight :p
stuwii Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Get a life. Just because she isn't a member of the Saturdays dressed in nothing but a paper towel doesn't make her bad. They've got to no.1 with a front woman who looks a bit like a lesbian, who isn't typically hot. Deal with it. Go watch transformers and jerk off to Megan Fox. I was actually gonna say people must be liking her in an odd way as she is useless but there we go
Paj! Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 ...what? Seriously. What did you just say in that post? Is it as inane as some of your other posts? ---- In other news, I'm going to recommend Music For Men by Gossip heartily. I prefer it a lot more than Standing In The Way Of Control. Beth Ditto admits that she used her voice too much to just overpower the songs on the last album as the lyrics weren't that strong. But this album is much more of a developed and well-crafted album. Really good.
■タイトル:『Absolute POLYSICS』 ■リリース:09/16(水) ■価格/品番: <初回盤(CD+DVD)> 3,360yen(税込) KSCL-1456~1457 <通常版(CD)> 3,059yen(税込) KSCL-1458 Which is moonspeak for: new Polysics album coming September 16th! I'm importing that bitch so hard.
Jon Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Been watching Springsteen's set on Glastonbuy. WOW. The guy is no spring chicken, has more money than he'll ever need but still puts on an awesome show. You can see it in his face how much he just loves performing. I've been to Glastobury and watched it year after year and can't remember the place being as alive as that. Awesome. Wish I'd have been there.
Guest Captain Falcon Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 For some reason, I've been listening to this song a lot recently. The Panic Division - Polysix Audio I know it's incredibly awesome, but it's like I've only just heard it and I can't get enough. Can anyone recommend me some bands that sound like this?
Razz Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Florence + The Machine's live lounge cover of Halo by Beyoncé. So much better.
