Jimz Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 This seems to have become more the Bjork thread than the music thread. :p Which is exactly why movies, TV, books and music need there own section.
Oxigen_Waste Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 It's Oh So Quiet isn't exactly truely representative of Bjork, that's why I think it was left out of the Greatest hits. Tou fucking ché. : peace: This seems to have become more the Bjork thread than the music thread. :p You make it sound like it's a bad thing. Which is exactly why movies, TV, books and music need there own section. No... it doesn't. I hate 2 page threads.
Calza Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Is there any good music blogs or websites akin to Pitchfork? I can't wait for the Wanderlust music video, it is definately out this month...
Oxigen_Waste Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Hmmm, there are some ok ones, like Drowned In Sound, but none hits as hard as Pitchfork. They're the masters of online critique.
Dan_Dare Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 radiohead's 'later' set. for those with, say, ears.
Paj! Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Is there any good music blogs or websites akin to Pitchfork? I can't wait for the Wanderlust music video, it is definately out this month... I hope so. It's fast become my favourite on the album. I was dissapointed with the Declare Independance video, it lacks energy. I need to listen to Volta again now.
Dan_Dare Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I would, but as it's sum 41...well, I have ethics and everything.
Calza Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I hope so. It's fast become my favourite on the album. I was dissapointed with the Declare Independance video, it lacks energy. I need to listen to Volta again now. Yeah I really like Wanderlust, I think I may prefer DFOD though, but I just think the lyrics are just sublime and Antony's voice goes so well with Bjork's. That sum 41 image does not even come up for me.
Dan_Dare Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 yeah me too. thought i'd be sarcastic about it anyway.
Calza Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I managed to find Sweet Freedom today in my dads collection, Dan is right he is so smooooth. The funny thing is I have a friend who looks so much like him, its the hair, he is only missing the beard and tache.
gaggle64 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Let's say I wanted to purchase a Halo soundtrack, a converted ten dollar bill each. Which one would you recommend? 1, 2 or 3?
Dan_Dare Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 the one without incubus and that horrible joe satriani theme tune remix / third trimester abortion of a track.
gaggle64 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Gragh. Good point. They should put a biohazard cordon around that one.
Dan_Dare Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 they really should. then publicly kneecap those responsible on national tv.
The Bard Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 That wasn't Joe Satriani, I think it was Steve Vai. Isn't it on the start up screen on Halo 3? More than slightly cheesy. Annoying wailing ftl.
gaggle64 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Nah, it's on the Halo 2 soundtrack I think. They stuck to the classical variants on Halo 3, thank god. Except for that awful "bonus" track by Princeton, but I like to pretend that doesn't exist. Helps me live with my humanity.
chairdriver Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I finally got round to listening to Klaxons. They sound pretty good/cool. Also, I'm borrowing Sia's album off Paj. I love. I can tell it will be a favourite of mine, even after 1 listening.
Aimless Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 There's actually two volumes of the Halo 2 soundtrack, the second being the good one that features all the music from the cinematics and none of the horrible 'guest' tracks. The Halo 3 OST looks pretty good, though, so long as you forget to play that awful last track.
ipaul Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I have decided I love The Chemical Brothers, every song I have listend to by them so far I have enjoyed immensely
The Bard Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I like the Chemical Brothers. I really don't know why, but they're addictive as fuck.
Dan_Dare Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 they're a quality act. Not that complex but they certainly know how to make a good track.
Hem Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 The Chemical Brothers are my favourite electronica (hate using that term) band. And are also special as fuck live.
Dan_Dare Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I have..several preferences to them, really. Daft Punk's better output, and generally more house orientated electro is more my cup. I think I like them for similar reasons to LCD Soundsystem though- they're very good at long, slow burning tracks that really carry you along. I've not listened to them on strong drugs, but I reckon it'd be really, really good
Oxigen_Waste Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Getting re-acquainted with µ-Ziq. I love the guy.
