Ooh Grammatics and Dananananakaroyd.

Now I just need to see if I can be arsed to listen to that playlist which I probably won't get round to doing.

I miss 120 minutes on MTV2.

Out June 23.

I'm anxious for this, it's been ages since I heard anything from her. She was one of the the first "quirky" female voices I got into.

Was looking on Last yesterday for some similar artists to a few people I like and despite their definition of similar seems to be at odds with my own, I stumbled across this track and I can't stop listening to it.

Broadcast Yourself

It's Icarus by Trash80.

heres hoping it sounds better than her last album

I think Begin To Hope had some excellent songs, but the production was too tight...the songs couldn't breathe.

I'd never heard Jai Ho! by A. Rahman and Pussycat Dolls until last night. I quite liked it so I bought it. They make some quite catchy stuff, and I love eastern stuff that has amazing percussion.

Rumour is they've split...or at least, Nicole's left the band which would basically equate to the same thing. The album sold pretty damn poorly, compared to the last.

I prefer the studio version, if I'm honest. A better video for her would be..

(skip to 2.40 onwards) Such a great opener.

Just finished watching Johnny Cash: The Last Great American on BBC 2 and I'm totally in the mood to crack out the Cash cds. Really, he's such a legend. One of the greatest musicians we've ever seen. I thought it was remarkable that in the run up to his death, over a 5 month period, he wrote and recorded 60 new songs. Incredible really when you realise how ill the man was. I can't honestly think of any musician from today's lot that'll still be able to pull out the songs like he did, Bob Dylan aside.

I remember AAAAAAAAAAges ago Dan Dare told me that The Sensual World by Kate Bush was amazing. I didn't believe him, finding it strange and...just nothing.

In he last month I finally broke into it, and fully agree with him. :)

Love the gravelly bits her voice does in this.

Yes! sweet victory!

In other news: I'm on another Interpol kick. Definitely one of my favourite bands. Their music is just so articulate; it's so fine and delicate that it demands utmost attention as soon as they strike a note. For a band with such a cool image, they're strangely emotional too. They capture a certain essence with their lyrics and I find them immensely moving.

I'm not really in to their second album. There's a few tracks i love (Slow Hands says hi) but overall I found it a bit flat. Our Love To Admire was much more a return to form.
