AshMat Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 One more thing, does this new trailer confirm that you can use helicopters in the game? Yeah, but that was known before, it's just that there are no planes.
KKOB Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 The question is: What is the song from the trailer?!?!
AshMat Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 I think it's more because with NY, there's nowhere to land. Also some people are being so damn close minded i'm getting pissed off. 1. There is a story line, its not jsut "mindless killing" 2. If you'd been following it properly, you'd know rockstar are putting A LOT of effort into this game, probably more than any other GTA so far.
Tellyn Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I love the gameplay of GTA games, find it very involving. When you look at San Andreas, the dialouge and acting of the characters made it such a unique experience and just the overall freedom you got, made it feel like you were roaming about in a real world. Only game ive ever felt the need to complete 100% tbh with you. I found the mission structure very rewarding in that game, because you could always have fun inbetween for an hour or so. The customisation also made you really feel a bond with the character, something seen in less and less games nowadays. San Andreas to me is one of the best games ever made. Games like GTA dont just get some of the best reviews in the history of games by fluke. They are loved gameplay wise by the majority. A majority which Includes myself. "Yo bitch, give me yo ride before I pop a cap in yo ass!" *You take the car and 'pop a cap in their "ass"' anyway.*

Well lets see what they can do. I've owned and played all the GTAs and nothings really changed beyond the size of the game world and the theme. I really do hope that they aren't afraid to change GTA into a better game. Putting more effort into the narrative is something they kinda improved a tiny bit for SA but it doesn't grab you the way it should. hopefully facial animation will add more of a hook and make me actually want to bother with it. We'll see.
Daft Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 THIS is the most over-hyped game series on earth-not Halo. Halo is easily more over rated. The single player is so diabolically bad in Halo 2 it might aswell be a home made mod.
KKOB Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Halo is easily more over rated. The single player is so diabolically bad in Halo 2 it might aswell be a home made mod. Totally disagree, the story side of it finishes off badly because it doesn't finish, but the actual gameplay is solid and the difficult and ai in the game is truely great. It may be because i played through both Halos in co-op that i had more fun than you, but the core of the game is solid. Back to GTA, any ideas on that damn song? sounds Kasabian-esque.
McMad Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Yeah, but that was known before, it's just that there are no planes. Awesome, I'll probably pick this up eventually then.
Moohawk! Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Back to GTA, any ideas on that damn song? sounds Kasabian-esque. Wikipedia says: The song played in the second trailer is "Arm In Arm (Shy Child Remix)" by a New York-based band, The Boggs. Wooo! Might have to give them a lookie, I quite like the song.
AshMat Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 Their myspace is irritating but this is them: http://www.myspace.com/theboggs
KKOB Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Wooooo! just bought it off iTunes, i now only have 40 free songs left lol
Caris Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 The characters look like such a minor jump from the PS2 games.
KKOB Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It is a minor jump, compared to say the models in Gears or even Crackdown. i'm not saying it's not an improvement, just not as significant and it should've been.
AshMat Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 You arne't taking into account the size though, you try fitting gears onto a map that massive.

A whole city looking like that will be pushing both consoles near it's limits, remember this gen were going into HD resolutions which take up alot of power to.

I don't care about that shizz, i'm just saying that the main character models should be better looking than they are, but graphics aren't a massive thing for any game imo. I'm still waiting to be impressed by GTA IV. I don't know if i'll like it, or think it's just like all the other 3D gta games that haven't really held my attention. Like i said before, if this is more story focussed, and more involving for the player then i'll like it, if its like all the other 3D GTAs, just with nicer graphics and a couple of little extras-like finally sorting out the combat!- then i won't like it. And i have to say, though it is still early days in regards to GTA info, i'm kinda thinking it'll be the later.

KKOB Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Then how come you keep going on about it? Because it may be indicative of my feelings for the game. "not enough change"
Calza Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 My opinion is pretty much the same as Takeo's. To me GTA gets boring after about an hour, I thinks it's the most over hyped series and it deserves hardly any of the praise it recieves. I don't think my opinion will change when this comes out and the new trailer made it seem pretty much the same game just better graphics. They have not shown anything new and R* now that they can pretty much produce anything with GTA writen on it and it will sell.
Shino Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It still looks too... GTA3. Not the improvement I expected after watching the 1st trailer.
CoolFunkMan Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I kinda agree with Takeo that GTA titles are an over-rated. Though tbh, that's mainly down to personal preference. I don't know why, it's just that nothing in GTA's really grabbed my attention as being stunning or amazing. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the games, I think they're decent enough. But I really don't think that they're all the hype. Although I'm definitely going to give GTA IV more of a chance.
Guest Stefkov Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I'm looking forward to it, but having not played any other to death, I don't see how you can play a game like this to death. Playing it counltess hours non stop, of course it woujl get repetitive, but I can't wait for it. It looks fantastic. The bridge at the start of the new video looekd amazing and the toll booth just adding that in seems awesome to me. I love little kinks like that.
Hellfire Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 WOW you must be the first person on the planet to slate the GTA IV graphics Takeo. I think they look incredible, cant think of any better graphics ive ever seen incredible. I'm not saying the graphics are bad, but way that's exagerated. Best graphics ever? Jesus. Also, I hate his model, it's too mapped and stuff.

GTA cant crackdown is much more open so you can spen like 50 hours looking for agility orbs well as on gta it has nothing like that (except hidden packages.) so it gets dry pretty quickly.
Ramar Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 I've been playing GTA since the original and I've enjoyed them all, the thing I like most is being free to roam and do what you want and then attempt missions at your own pace. I really hope the story lives up in this one (seems promising from what I've seen), I really didn't like San Andreas' story, I think Vice City was a better. Then again it was 80s and had Iron Maiden, thats just made of win.
