  1. ESRB has ratings for Aerofighters Assault, Beetle Adventure and Lylat Wars, so it must be one of these.
  2. Souped up Xbox, that was what most were thinking.
  3. I asked about "running all Virtual Console games" thingy, and it just means system doesn't crash when you try to play certain VC games (other modchips have that problem). It also looks like they aren't simply trying circumevent checks, they are aiming to completely re-write firmware using same code that WiiConnect24 uses to patch it. This is possible, as group of german security specialists actually had Wii's backdoor's password already. Nintendo changed the password, but specialists say it is extremely easy to find if you know where to look at it.
  4. I don't think that it will be interesting at all, as all consoles are always sold in the launch.
  5. Depending what you are going to download. N64 games actually work better with Gamecube controller, and NES / Turbographx are quite playable with wiimote. If you are going to get SNES games, then yes, classic controller is rudimentary.
  6. I think that original press release said four players. Meaning basically four armies.
  7. It is for few users who use projectors.
  8. Yup, I have pimped it few times, because I think it is currently only really good VC site.
  9. Actually no, even though I was the guy behind idea that VC-reviews.com should have Wii optimized pages. If you didn't know, VC-reviews website will automatically change its layout to Wii optimized version if you use Wii's Opera.
  10. Splatterhouse was pretty bad game, and Turbographx port had some odd changes, like Rick has now red mask instead of white one. But I must give Splatterhouse credit about how it is only game where wooden stick has more balls than meat cleaver.
  11. Yes, pretty much.
  12. As Sony has clearly stated to Reuters and Gamasutra, backwards compatibility is more limited because they are cutting the costs, and removing PS2 dedicated chips from European PS3's*. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, as Sony did many times state hardware based backwards compatibility wouldn't be permanent solution, and later models would use emulation to guarantee backwards compatibility. Furthermore, it is fairly obvious that later US and JPN models will have same revision on their hardware. So if you didn't buy your PS3 amongst the first, you are pretty much screwed. * By their own words, this saves 26 $ per unit
  13. It's probably Sega Master System.
  14. Japanese VC: March titles Famicom The Adventures of Valkyrie Donkey Kong Jr. Math Excitebike Lode Runner Yoshi Super Famicom Actraiser Hercules no Eikou 3 Legend of the Mystical Ninja Mega Drive Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle Alien Storm Bonanza Bros. Dino Bros. Sonic Spinball Virtua Fighter 2 (Genesis version) Wonder Boy in Monster World PC Engine Double Dungeons Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag Galaga '88 Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman MSX Aleste Eggy Only few interesting titles there; Actraiser, Adventures of Valkyrie, Virtua Fighter and Wonder Boy.
  15. Super Paper Mario was on the original japanese list, but GoNintendo removed those titles that had release date already. That's also why Pokemon Battle Revolution and Eyeshield 21 are missing.
  16. Oops...
  17. Maybe because Brain Academy's "puzzles" require lots of space from the screen?
  18. Q2 is current plan, as it should be first online title.
  19. New "old" screenshot. It was already on japanese brochure about six months ago, but the scan was so fucking small that couldn't see anything.
  20. Arika has made few diving games for PS2, and from what I have heard, they were pretty boring. But could be good title for more casual players.
  21. Woopedi dedibidoo.... I translated this same list last year's november, and it was featured on GoNintendo, N-Sider and here at Revo-Europe forums. Really proves how short memory most people have.
  22. Heh. TheSonicRetard is indeed Sonic fan, but he hasn't liked any of the other 3D-Sonics, so I think that he can give quite fair opinion.
  23. TheSonicRetard is A) professional freelancer journalist and B) has had his review copy for a week. And knowing current trend of Wii reviews, many reviewers have rather cheap excuses for dumbing score (case: ExciteTruck*, for example). * No reviewer seems to like it, but at Revo-Europe, NTSC-UK and Penny-Arcade forums most people have been quite happy with their purchase.
  24. Did you see what SonicRetard commented on control issues?
  25. According to PA-Forums users, IGN edited the review during the night and removed some parts without adjusting the score. I still can't understand current trend of editing reviews after you have published them. It's fucking lame. Yeah, but like EGM, 1UP was Ziff-Davis publishing group magazine, meaning that most of its reviewers are either from Official Playstation Magazine or Official Xbox Magazine. Collision of interest? No sirree...
