Yeah, that is fair response, as nobody can like every possible game on the market. But I still think that it is good that Konami tries and brings some original titles to Wii.
-
After DDR SuperNOVA's home release Konami hasn't used background movies anymore. I don't know reason for this, but it really sucks.

:p First of all, have you ever played any of the 3D Castlevanias that Konami put out for PS2? They are plain horrible games, made with extremely limited budget. They have repetitive gameplay. Corridor after corridor, all looking same. Only monsters change. Both were commercial failures, and Wii version wouldn't fare better, especially considering that Konami's team can't even do tolerable 3D Castlevania. They have proved it four times. Contra..... Once again I'm suspecting that you haven't played any Contra titles since SNES / Genesis. After SNES days, Konami has made only only three Contra games, one for PSOne / Saturn, two for PS2. All three were quite bad games, and mostly sold due classic name. Fortunately, using classic name didn't keep series infinetily aflot, and after commercial disaster called Neo Contra, Contra as series was put into indefinite hold. And that's a good thing. Metal Gear Solid? Little unrealistic to except, as Sony has paid big sum for exclusivity. When you are it, you could basically bitch that why PS3 doesn't get Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3. Or why Wii doesn't get Halo. So... instead of trying to get into Wii market with two series that are on the verge of death, Konami decided to do DDR game. DDR is one of their most popular titles on the west, easily moving at least 300 000 copies each time new mix is released. It was smart move and will surely help with Wii's mainstream appeal. And complaining about Lewy's is also quite pointless, especially because you haven't played it. You don't know how good it is, or how much effort team has put to it. No fear about that. ISS as a series is dead. Konami finally noticed that there wasn't really any logical reason to have two different football titles to compete for same market segment.

As it is clearly stated on that list, this chip only boots seperate NTSC region games. Japanese Wii can boot US games and vice versa. It doesn't allow you to boot NTSC games with PAL Wii or vice versa.
-
Yeah I know. I just stated I hate all shiny crap that was first in XP, now in Vista. I don't really know how I could manage if I couldn't turn all that stuff off.

Help .MDF .MDS .MD0 .MD1 alcohol 120% etc
Teppo Holmqvist replied to Slaggis's topic in General Chit Chat
I'm not sure about mounting, but when burned, Alcohol immediately continues to sequent files (md0, md1, and so on). Daemon Tools probably does same when you mount MDS. -
Para Para Paradise was commercial failure, and Konami doesn't own rights for most songs anymore.

I just meant that there is two seperate installs. When you install DX10, it doesn't replace DX9. It seems like DX9 is already installed on Vista's retail version. But if (for some reason) your DX9 would break up, you would be forced to install it again. I heard this happened few times during betatest.
-
Except that Vista features nearly completely re-written core, and has biggest changes in core since Windows 3.11. DX10 was programmed to take full advantage of new core, and theoretically it should give about 30 percent boost because certain bottlenecks were removed. In fact, DX10 is so different from DX9, that you actually need install DX9 seperately to Vista. DX10 doesn't have backwards compatibility with older versions at all.
-
Actually Vista works pretty much so well as XP if you turn Aero off. That it wouldn't run in anything else than latest supercomputers is mostly Linux / OSX fanatic propaganda that we see always when Microsoft releases something new (and vice versa). But I personally hate OSX / Vista stylish interface shit. I want cold, gray interface.

That might be true for MSX and other home computer ports, but I know that NES version is called Gradius, because I bought one when I was little kid and I still have it on my collection. -

No idea. There is ESRB ratings for OoT, Aeroassault 64 and Beetle Racing, so you can except them relatively soon. -
If we believe Famitsu, Konami has plans for following Wii titles: - Soccer Title (Winning Eleven, because Seabass said he was already experimenting on wiimote) - Baseball Title (Power Pro Yakkou 14, me thinks) - Action Title* - RPG Title* - Music Title (Probably another DDR Mario, Drummania would be other obvious choice) * Was rumoured to be cancelled in last month's Famitsu, but Konami has given official statement where they say that they haven't cancelled any titles. EDIT: News from MTV via GoNintendo Last week Midway Games hosted an event in Las Vegas to preview the company’s major 2007 titles. Other companies’ events will follow, including a San Francisco Konami announcement day scheduled for Thursday. http://gonintendo.com/?p=12494

3D Castlevanias have been painfully bad so far due limited budget and the fact that the team isn't even trying. Hallway after another, all looking same.

Favourite Mario Kart game?

Yeah, it sure does. Shame that Nitro Kart didn't have same kind of quality as first one had. -
Every Nes game that come out!
Teppo Holmqvist replied to Oli1983uk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
That lot has only all officially licensed US NES games. If we would add every unlicensed (non-pirate) cart and japanese game, number is closer to 900. There was one lot of like that about year ago. Gabe & Tycho from Penny-Arcade bought it as a prize for last year's PAX Omegathron. -

It isn't really hassle for me. All of my NTSC games work except for Geist and Army Men. -

Sue? *calling Phoenix Wright* Heh, seriously, yes, some games require that. Those games that are listed under "works" play without using your old Freeloader. -
Play.com and http://www.movietyme.com are most popular choices.

All earlier Hajime no Ippo games have got US release*, because of manga, but the series haven't never been that popular. Latest title was released with budget price of 15 dollars to encourage sales, but I think that the publisher has now decided that Ippo games aren't really worth their time. * I don't remember western name

In fact, there was two of them. Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out!!. Both games ran with same engine, and were released in 1984. PO had following boxers: Glass Joe, Piston Hurricane, Bald Bull, Kid Quick, Pizza Pasta, and Mr. Sandman. SPO had following boxers; Bear Hugger, Dragon Chan, Vodka Drudenski*, Great Tiger and Super Macho Man. Did you guys know that Nintendo was actually planning Mike Tyson's Punch-Out II for NES? This task was assigned to Beam Software. Unfortunately project did lag and first beta versions didn't really meet exceptations of Nintendo. When Mike Tyson was facing trial for rape accusation, Nintendo decided to quietly pull the plug out from the project. Beam Software continued project, changed Mike Tyson's and his manager's sprites, and released game under name of Power Punch II*. It was rather bad game and it was understandable why Nintendo decided that project wasn't worth their money or time. * His name was changed to Soda Popinski in home version ** There had never been Power Punch I

Don't except it to return for two reasons. First of all, it was holiday bundle. Secondly if something is "SOLD OUT" instead "Out of Stock" in Play.com, it doesn't normally return to selection at all.
