  1. It's gonna be weird finally hearing him speak English!
  2. Told you not to expect a Nintendo Direct. The timing just didn't match up
  3. America is getting Wario's Woods (NES) tomorrow.
  4. I think Taiko is really being underestimated here... All of the Wii games ended up hitting around the 500k mark and it's exactly the kind of audience expanding game that the Wii U needs right now (also it's VERY family friendly, so it makes for a nice two-punch combo with SM3DW). Nintendo should really be thanking Namco big time (and with WSClub & SSB4!). Going into the Xmas season, it's gonna be at least as important as SM3DW when it comes to selling systems! They really could've done with one more big game in December though, still feels a bit bare... (though it's possible that a strong enough marketing campaign that highlights their catalogue of existing titles like Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, Wii Sports Club, Wii Fit U and Wii Party U, Wind Waker HD, NSMBU/NSLU, Game & Wario and Monster Hunter 3 U might be enough to spur interest).
  5. Not a bad ad, gets the point across nice, simply and quickly (I would've pointed out that the "New! Realistic Controls!" actually use Wii Motionplus, since the Wii audience is actually familiar with the concept and benefits of Motionplus, but eh? It's not bad). It's just a shame that they don't have Golf or Baseball ready to show off yet. Those would sell the Gamepad much better than the other sports
  6. To be honest? No (thankfully it isn't alone, since they also have Taiko Drum Master Wii U - and since it uses the same drum controllers as the original Wii games, there's a very large 500,000 + potential audience to sell the console to; but I digress); the Wii U already has two Mario platform titles (yes yes, they're 2D games but there's still a large amount of crossover with the audience), so SM3DW's potential impact will be limited due to this. What they need more than anything else in their lineup is more variety (which Taiko goes a long way towards helping supply). Sure, SM3DW will no doubt help, but it's yet another platformer on a console that is already rich in platform games. Even DKCTF would've brought more variety to the Wii U's lineup than more Mario. Still, maybe the Xmas season will see the Wii U's back catalogue get a boost, as new hardware buyers catch up with the titles that have already been released. Likewise, Wii Party U will no doubt sell based off of its legs; it's not the kind of game to explode out of the gate. Nintendo haven't dated ANY of their 2014 titles yet on either 3DS or Wii U. No doubt, this'll be rectified by their next Nintendo Direct.
  7. Oh thank Christ! The new Wii U bundles had an effect! Famitsu: http://www.famitsu.com/biz/ranking/ Wii U: 40,118 Media Create: http://www.4gamer.net/games/117/G011794/20131106065/ Wii U: 38,802 Media Create hardware: 3DS 86868 PSV 28219 PS3 11754 WIU 40118 PSP 3345 WII 663 X360 184 Media Create software: I was really worried that it didn't have a noticeable effect when I was watching its Japanese Miiverse activity (where the Japanese community still sits at less than 5,000 posts), but that's a decent result Much better than I had expected The game's solus sales aren't amazing, but these types of games (like its predecessor) are slow burners, so I wouldn't expect it to explode out of the gate anyway; its legs are what really matter (and the same applies to the effects of this hardware bundle). But even so! HOPE! IT LIVES!
  8. Yep, sounds about right. Nintendo aren't stupid, of course they knew that the service could be used to exchange porn pictures and dick scribbles; they wouldn't shut it down if they found out that it was being used by a few people for that. But when child porn gets into the picture? They HAVE to act, they had no choice (not just for brand protection, but legally they HAD to take action as well)
  9. God I hope it doesn't get changed, that meteor smash effect is one of the main reasons why Toon Link was wayyy better than Link in Brawl. Link has been pathetically underpowered ever since SSBM. He desperately needs a power boost!
  10. Yeah, it's sad; especially considering that it's an AMAZING game! It's totally bonkers!
  11. Your recommended daily intake of 2,000 calories is there for a reason (most of that is used to regulate your body's temperature).
  12. Wasn't that £11.99 on the eShop last week?
  13. It's VERY fully featured! Definately a professional grade tool (and not designed for the inexperienced!) Its predecessors were retail titles on DS and DSi (the latter being one of the few DSi Enhanced games released at retail).
  14. Yes it would, but that listing is only in the US right now... (also, Japan already has SMB3 on their 3DS VC, but not on Wii U; for what it's worth...)
  15. Those were all specialist ones that followed though (except for the last one you mentioned, which were indeed two major ones - but even then, they were two calendar months apart; if not technically more than a month and a few days). They have never had two major internationally released Nintendo Directs, just one calendar month apart before (and Iwata mentioned before that he wants to stick with a bimonthly schedule for major ND's for the most part). If we do get one, I bet it'll just be focused around the eShop (less likely) or it'll be one specifically for Super Mario 3D World (more likely).
  16. @RedShell is gonna be happy this week
  17. Unless they're planning a special Virtual Console/eShop Nintendo Direct (with the launch of N64/GBA VC games) or a Super Mario 3D World Nintendo Direct (with a surprise SMB3 VC release after the video), then don't count on it happening. They already did a bimonthly Nintendo Direct last month, so the timing doesn't match up here...
  18. Looks like they've done it again, simply incredible! It looks amazing already, running at 60FPS x2 (for 3D) and then suddenly BOOM! dual screen (x3) rendering baby! Never ceases to amaze me, just what these demoscene guys manage to squeeze out of low spec hardware. To me, seeing stuff like that is infinitely more interesting and impressive than seeing developers pushing what high spec hardware can do!
  19. You have to do it immediately upon start up, or you can't do it at all (presumably you could just delete the save file and then do the transfer after though I guess...)
  20. Shopto Shopto SHOPTO! Great prices, lighting fast. What's not to love? For import games, I recommend Videogamesplus.ca Also, I'd like to give a shout-out to the Nintendo UK store. I ordered the Fit Meter for Wii Fit U from them and it actually arrived the day before the game released; so if you're thinking of ordering from them, their delivery times seem to be good.
  21. It doesn't normally go this slow (it's just finished downloading for me too just a second ago). I downloaded Deux Ex HR a few days ago (which is about 16GB) and that finished in just over an hour, so either the servers are getting hammered with everyone downloading at once, or something else funky is happening
  22. Never doubt German efficiency BTW it's 4.6GB for anyone wondering (hope you cleaned your fridge! -or better yet, got a bigger one) It's weird, I'm both looking forward to it and not at the same time. I know it's gonna be fun, but I've been slacking on exercise and diet recently, so I'm scared to see how much I've let myself go
  23. Wäre das nicht ein Nintendo-Spiel, ohne ein paar mehr Verspätungen
  24. Nicht in GMT
  25. I did. Even with Miiverse, it was still a cute and fun way of sending silly messages and animal crossing pics
