So I went to to engage in Legendary Battle with Ronald and... You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse ... Yeah... That just happened. Wow...

Yeah I saw them last year, they were brilliant

The more Yeahs, the better Wouldn't mind supplying some snaps from time to time (any excuse to take more cool or funny snaps of games for Miiverse is fine by me - hell I swear half my time is spent on looking for funny captionable "Miiverse Moments" in these games anyway )

I think that the hand is determined as soon as the match begins. As for the coin flip, you're right. The next outcome (be it heads or tails) is always pre-determined - You can take advantage of this to force your opponent to flip tails by saving, using a card that requires a coin flip to see what it will land on, reloading and letting your opponent flip the coin to get the result you know you got before. Personally I'd rather not spread that info around much though because it really does completely destroy the game (I would NEVER use it myself, sucks all the fun out of the game completely) It's really weird playing around with save states in general and using it to destroy a game's illusion of randomness. So much of a game's makeup (and indeed fun factor) all depends on maintaining that illusion... NES Remix is another good place where you can see the effects of this as it relies on save states for almost all of its challenges (notice how enemies in these challenges always move exactly the same way every single time?) Wario Ware DIY really goes out of its way to teach the player the importance of generating randomness in their games as well. Without it, most games lose so much of what makes them special... (I would never want to know how randomness works in the Mario Party games - just imagine how much the experience would be destroyed if you knew how the randomness worked and how to manipulate it...)

Not what I was expecting! Hmm... Never played a MMBN game before... Shall I take the plunge? BTW, this is the first time MM6 has ever been released on consoles in Europe (the 3DS VC release was its first actual EU release period!)
-
It wouldn't be the first time that Smash Bros has taken liberties with characters that end up feeding back into their respective series... and of course more or less everything about Captain Falcon I suppose Kirby sort of counts as well... Even though Smash Bros is actually basically Kirby Superstar turned into a fighting game soooo.... technically Smash Bros is the one that stole from Kirby but whatever :p ... so I reckon there's a chance he'll be right about this one

Yes he did (shame on you!) but let's be honest, suspend saves don't really make it any easier because we all used to cheat by saving right before a battle anyway (and as SGC rightfully pointed out, the coin flip system is partially pre-determined so save state scumming doesn't really work here :p ) BTW, agree wholeheartedly with his Pop N' Twinbee review. Really fun and whimsical little classic! : peace: Though I think it's a shame that he doesn't mention the "couple" mode - which I think is a little stroke of genius (basically it sets the AI to only go after player 1 and leave, the presumably less experienced, player 2 alone to help out player 1 in relative safety; brilliant little innovation that I'm shocked has never, to my knowledge, been copied by any other game!)

Thinking of going, but if I do I won't be playing anything Nintendo/Platinum Games related. I mean, I'm guaranteed to be buying all of those games anyway. Why let my first impression of them be at an event like this when I can have the ideal first experience with them at home? If I go, I'll be looking at everything else instead... Still would be happy to see you guys there though! : peace:

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (30th Oct)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'd say that the chances of an EU release are very high. We've gotten all of the Nintendo console/handheld Project Zero games here in Europe except for PZ4 (and that was supposedly because the Japanese version suffered from game breaking glitches that Tecmo/Grasshopper refused to fix) and the Wii U is absolutely desperate for software (especially exclusive software that uses the Gamepad in a fundamental way... ) So barring any sort of horrifying un-fixable showstopper bug rearing its terrifying head once more, we should end up getting it -
Oh! That's something to keep in mind if they bring back the style points system from Melee/64 for Classic Mode... (Which I hope they do! It's absence in Brawl was sorely missed!)
-
Nice to see them share how the process works in such thorough detail It probably will be a good few months before we get it, but it sounds like they've got a good handle on the process now (and with the external localisation being "almost complete" that'll be the biggest potential holdup out of the way ) I reckon we'll see it around early October in Europe/Australia. From the sounds of things, external FIGS localisations will be done in about 2-3 weeks, so that'll be probably be done by the end of the month. Then implemention will probably be another month roughly. Then testing and cert will probably be another month (assuming that it gets through Lotcheck first time like it did in the US). That would actually be a pretty impressive turnaround time, considering that they only started after finishing the first 1.0 US version (and considering that they're only a small team working from a Kickstarter, that's perfectly understandable)

Oh God! Dat Mario VO dub... It's horrifying
-
Cheers! Will probably get it then

Has anyone here tried Armillo? It looks a bit crap (and ameturish) visually, but it looks like it could be decent fun and all the impressions I can see online and on Miiverse are universally positive... I like the look of the gameplay and I'm kinda in the mood for a top-down action game right about now...
-
I have it The single player missions are good fun!

Friend battles! Finally! I hope they offer a friendly fire toggle for local/online friends play. Would be a shame to see it gone for good...

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (30th Oct)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Details... http://gematsu.com/2014/07/fatal-frame-raven-haired-shrine-maiden-revealed-wii-u Looks fantastic! Love the water theme and Gamepad = Camera Obscura? Just what we all wanted Now the wait for a localization announcement... -
As should've been obvious from the get-go... Of course they're not gonna rule it out when it's basically free money for them. It's just a matter of what resources are currently available at M2 (and considering that they're currently busy with the GBA, TG16 and MSX Wii U VC and the SEGA 3D Classics, it might be a while before we see them tackle the SEGA consoles on the Wii U...)

Official Gamecube to Wii U Controller Adapter announced!
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Why would anyone bother with a knockoff when we have support for official GCN controllers coming shortly? (Hell they're even re-releasing them! Settle for no less than the real Mccoy!) -
SWEET JESUS!! How is that even legal?
-
I think by this point, they've got bigger targets in mind... This IS the Twitter era after all :p Ha ha, that's so true! Still... ROB was an incredible surprise when it happened!
-
Yeah I remember that. I just hope that they don't reveal all the hidden characters. It's not the same when you already know who the NEW CHALLENGER silhouette is when it appears...
-
I hope that turns out to be wrong... That would kill all the suspense and surprise for near enough a whole two months before the 3DS game launches
-
Wow! Poor Chrom... A Final Smash appearance may as well not be an appearance at all, he got gypped BIG time! That fakeout at the end! Hahaha!
-
BUBUBUBUT THE LEAK!!! FIVE FIRE EMBLEM CHARACTERS!? AWESOME!! I love how they implemented the weapon breaking mechanic into Robin/My Avatar's moveset!
