Puddle is actually really good if you haven't played it on other platforms, scientifically, it's quite interesting too learning how different liquids react in wierd and surprising ways. Just don't use the gyro controls, it's much harder that way. It's quite short too, around 6 hours worth of playtime.

I'm going to sit down and finish this game on Saturday, I'm on operation 9-A. Just wondering though, I've been playing it on 'easy' and have started pumping out the Pure Platinum awards on every mission, so I intend to play it again on hard. Will hard mode unlock once I've finished this on easy, or does it have to be completed in normal?
-
I've been playing through it on easy, and to be honest it is a little too easy on this setting, the harder modes don't unlock until you prove yourself at the lower settings. The difficulty lies in the picking up of the game and it's mechanics, because there are no tutorials. I don't think any seasoned gamer would have a problem learning this stuff themselves, so don't worry about it you'll love it instantly

Poor kid must not have had a link cable haha

I'd actually prefer to have them all in there. I hate it when there are pokemon that are actually un-obtainable within game (apart from version specific ones) 1. You cannot use your old favourites unless you have every copy of the game ever made and have done the poke-transfer thingy. 2. Those scenarios where you have to go into GAME to download an event Pokemon are kind of embarrassing, like telling your doctor you have erectile disfunction.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Eightbit replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
A. What if all the items are the same price? B. That is indeed an interesting point. It didn't make any difference in the original Zelda, but video games were a harsher beast back then. Personally, I find bosses in Zelda don't distribute any more damage than the other, there's just a 'knack' to tackling them. Aside from the final boss in any of the Zelda titles, I'd feel confident going up against, say..... Volvagia, with three heart containers. But I know that I'm not everyone. -

This. And to point you in the right direction of which dungeon needs which item, they may have to be used to unlock the dungeon entrance. Speculation of course. -

This suggests to me that all dungeon specific items are sold directly from the shop, meaning that you can complete the dungeons in any non-specific order you like. Aonuma has recently said he wants to go back to the non-linearity based exploration if the first game. Lets hope it happens. -
I'll bet you're getting tired of reminding everybody of this fact!

Games that you'd like to see get a HD remake
Eightbit replied to lostmario's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Donkey Kong 64 needs a HD remake. The game just looks nasty, and stretched like many of the late N64 platformers that were too ambitious with scale whilst sacrificing on things like loading times and graphical detail. If they were to remake it they would have to change it's angle a bit, as it would bore modern gamers to tears with its endless collectibles, a gap which could be replaced by more mini games (the mini games in DKC spring to mind) And they could make the bosses look more menacing in HD, especially K.Rool as he looked like he was just a fat green blob. Imagine a sharp toothed, deep green and black scaled monster....drooling at the mouth in terrifying HD glory!! (Except with a little gold crown and boxing gear ha) -
Didn't want this game until now, haven't had a Bulbasaur since '98!

If you type the promotional code: ASPAUG132 into GAME online you can get the special edition for £53.99. Slightly easier to digest!

Saw your Miiverse post last night with all your stats on final completion. I compared it to mine, I'm basically three hours slower than you, but took 12 less days. I thought... What could this possibly be down to? Then I realised.... 3D fruit analysing must have taken up more time than I thought haha!

Just had to come in and gas about this game. It's so amazing, and frantic and gorgeous. I'm using the wiimote and nunchaku combination, it's so precise, I feel fully in control if everything, Pikmin seem to be going where I want them, rather than being flung around the screen like some insane firework display that I was used to seeing in the GameCube days. What I really need for some DLC is not too much to ask, but I want endless days filled with fruits and challenges and no time limit, this game feels more like Tetris to play, than any other RTS due to its frantic nature.

Official E3 Nintendo Direct Discussion - 11th June @ 3pm
Eightbit replied to Mokong's topic in Nintendo Gaming
My thoughts: I think the staging for the Nintendo Direct was pretty significant. Holding it from a massive empty room at Nintendo HQ where Iwata took time to mention the fact there would be a shareholders meeting the following month makes me think he was trying to tell us something. Nintendo are under massive pressure from their shareholders, and with that in mind, they have had to play it safe, and focus all their efforts on things that have been proven to sell, like Mario, DK ect. Nintendo need to sell consoles to the simpleton, in order to get its feet off the ground. Simpletons are not going to buy Star Fox, Metroid or anything they dont recognise, hence why i think we didnt get any Megatons which would make us fanboys cream. This is to appease the shareholders. I do not think it was a bad conference, after all i will probably be buying all those games that were shown (apart from 3rd party stuff and that downright offensive Wii Party U game), and i think that most of you guys on here would agree with that and be in the same boat, so for Nintendo to show me 7/8 games that i would put down as definite buys is quite good. I'm happy to play enjoyable (but admittedly uninspiring) games for the next year to get the console out of the shit hole that it's currently in. Because i know once the mass market is fed, that's when we will start to see true innovation coming our way. Because let's face it, us hardcore gamers dont make up a great % of those 100m Wii consoles sold, so we come 2nd. -
I did something similar today, and putting reasons for everything got a bit tiresome. I decided to cite my reason for purchasing New Super Mario Bros. 2 as: "I like to collect lots of gold coins to insert into my bottom" Upon hitting the submit button, the 404 - I AM ERROR page popped up with a picture of that guy from Zelda 2. I tried to go back but the bloody thing made me fill out the survey again! Moral of the story? Nintendo don't want you to insert gold coins into your bottom.

Unlucky @Blade I really hope you can win that league outright next season to end your playoff heartbreak. The mighty Yeovil town are 90 mins away from the championship, how crazy does that sound?
-
Also just came back from Bramall Lane, as the away support! Good game of football, very unlucky not to get anything out of the game, but i think if we play like that at home, we will easily score past that snail like defense. SMOKE BOMBS GOING OFF? CRAZY SHIZZLE!!!
-
Yes mate! Getting my tickets for the away leg tomorrow, we're both in poor form at the moment so I reckon it'll be a cagey affair. So excited though
