  1. Not really because I have to work! Going to see blur at Hyde Park on the 2nd and 3rd of July though, that will be great if the weather is good.
  2. When the people who pay for these bodies die, surely they'd get sent to one of the layers of hell or reincarnated as a cripple or something. When you die, you get judged and then treated accordingly. Murdering somebody or wrecking somebody elses dead body = uh oh.
  3. It is well made and quite professional, but I was reading the wikipedia entry for it last night and discovered that it has different endings for different regional versions. The US release has a different ending from the Chinese release. I've got the Mainland Chinese version and it doesnt have subtitles, but the ending on this one is quite good because it is the opposite of what you'd expect from an American film. The trouble that plagued its production sounds interesting: Whenever I watch a Chinese film, I always expect an unhappy ending because it's usually what happens! The Postmodern Life of my Aunt is one of my fav Chinese films - it starts on a high and ends up really demoralisng. Both of these two films try to combat some of the problems in China.
  4. ^ Obviously not including the 20-40 million that were killed in the Great Leap Forward.
  5. Life is cheap in China, they don't have much respect for humans or animals. http://www.sfgate.com/c/pictures/2005/04/25/mn_china_bears_ph.jpg I've only linked to that image because the reality of what's happening in China is too sick to stomach. Imagine living in a cage no bigger than the size of your body for 20 years, never being let out of it until your dead (through starvation) and having the bile from your liver constantly dripping out of open wounds on your body. Bile bears in China are the reason why I donate money to WSPA every month. Bile bears are used for Chinese medicine.... If anybody is interested in human trafficking in China, I'd recommend watching the film Blind Mountain. If you want to see a village that is reminiscent of Resident Evil 4 (or The Wicker Man), China is your best bet. They kidnap young women and sell them to rural farmers that force them into marriage and rape them until they become pregnant. The villagers of these villages all work together to stop the women from escaping.
  6. Oh ok, have a great time! That'll be fascinating, are you going to take a notepad and pencil? Might be useful!
  7. I have Japanese For Busy People and that book is really good! Make sure you learn Hiragana and Katakana before you start learning if you haven't aready done that. It takes some time, but it could be a lot worse. They really help to break words down into very simple monosyllabic sounds. Forget English when you are learning it and focus on the actual meanings instead. Only use the vocab lists as a sort of dictionary and learn the words from the sentences/dialogues that they are in. Only look the meanings up when you come across them. Dont pay too much effort trying to memorise words out of a sentence because verbs, nouns, adverbs, adjectives and etc are meaningless on their own. When you read something enough times, you'll remember what it means. Japanese is a beautiful language and the sounds are easy to fall in love with. I don't know about Kanji (Traditional Chinese) though, lol... When you start learning Kanji, get to know the radicals first and learn what's happening in the characters! You'll see women, water, fire, animals and a whole lot of other things in them that will help you to remember what they mean. If a character has a water radical, the character will have something to do with water.
  8. Yeah, I meant arranged marriages. I think the handing out of marriage visas should be more strict in order to prevent groups from taking advantage of the system. I suppose singling out Pakistan in such a generalised way is wrong and I should have just said that I support more restrictions on marriage visas, sorry. I'll try and hold my tongue next time. I do have a few issues with the changes to immigration policies that have happened just recently. They have made it harder for employers to employ foreigners, but I think it should be ok to employ people through work visas as long as they are getting equal pay. I guess that farming is a bit of a tricky area for this.
  9. I'm all for immigration, but there are a lot of people who I wouldn't let in. I don't think we should automatically let asylum seekers into the country and any illegals trying to sneak through the channel tunnel should be shown the door straight away. Pakistanis coming here to marry British citizens should not be entitled to a marriage visa and any religious extremists shouldn't be allowed to come here either. Edit: oh yep, immigrants should be exempt from benefits and should be given a ticket home if they ask for financial support.
  10. Chav hunting with a crossbow.
  11. Bape = cool What hoodie wouldn't want to be seen in this:
  12. Aww, no milk! Sheesh, reminds me of when I was younger. I used to love those figures that they included in the Frosties boxes. Tony was the Charizard of the cereal world.
  13. I downloaded the Chinese version to rate it and don't really get what the download was for? Is this all flash card based? If so, the flash cards aren't any good and didn't display the pinyin. I also didn't like the woman's accent. I'm not a fan of flash cards. A good text book with audio and an additional grammar book is the best way to learn Chinese. Best books for Chinese: Chinese in Steps 1-3 (book 4 is awful) New Practical Chinese Reader series (5 in total) Routledge's Basic and Intermediate Chinese grammar books. I want to give A Trip to China a try, but I'm currently hooked on NPCR.
  14. I used to eat cereals when I was a child, but I got sick of eating the same old cereals every day. These days, I have 3 bits of toast (with or without marmite) and 2 boiled eggs. If I have the time, I will make a cup of milo (energy drink that is kind of like hot chocolate, but full of B vitamins). I usually get hungry after 2 and a half hours...
  15. If you want to be the coolest person around, buy a Mario to Milo tshirt: http://sneakermaniac.com/bape-mario-to-milo”-t-shirts/ I have it in green. Milo is very fashionable at the moment. If you are buying clothes from a Japanese or Chinese site, always go two sizes up. If you are a medium, you need to buy extra large.
  16. Don't let yourself get too down Jordon, it's natural for your brain to make you feel the way you are probably feeling right now, but it's just a mechanism that can be overridden when you realise what your brain is doing to you and you don't need to be controlled by it. Instead of just thinking of why you are unhappy (the triggers for what your body is making you feel), think logically about why the human body reacts the way it does. Your feelings are unimportant and arent really real, they are just the way you are controlled, the whole situation is quite funny if you realise how stupid we all are. Unhappy emotions are not worth bothering with. Life is a bit of a joke, but just go along with it as we are here to live it out to the end. Riggghhttttt.

  18. Do they squeel when they sneeze?
  19. Buddhists are like babies with candy. Their philosophy is as feasible as Marxism and both would only work in a world occupied by perfectly programmed robots.
  20. "i had a friend who was heavily into buddism, he tried to convert me, i was tempted till he started talking about people survivng on cosmic energy. thats when my implasability alarm sounded." Buddhism and Taoism have no place outside of Chinese fairy tales. I was reading about Chinese history today and how dynasties stayed in power by making the people believe that they had a mandate from heaven to rule over them.
  21. The world's? I take it that their world consists of Britain and the US.
  22. I'm a strong supporter of good morals, but religion is pure evil if you have any respect for the human mind. Our minds are very fragile and fickle things. Religion is all about controlling people and brainwashing them to believe what you want them to believe. The victims dont understand how wrong they are to take the words of other people with so much faith.... When we are talking about religion, we don't even need to talk about whether there is a god or not because that's not what religion is really about.
  23. There are no administrative costs at all becuase the process is entirely automated. The funny thing about banks is that they complain when you go overdrawn, when in reality, they dont really have a fraction of people's money that they are 'looking after' for them. This is why it is very easy to make a bank collapse if everybody goes to draw their money out at the same time. I have gone overdrawn with Barclays 3 times. Once was due to Microsoft ilegally billing me for Xbox Live when I didn't have a subscription with them and the other 2 times were due to the bank balance at ATMs displaying incorrect information. I could go overdrawn again today because I only had £8 left in my current account last night and I'm only getting paid tomorrow. Wouldn't be surprised if that £8 didnt exist....... I never got Microsoft to refund me my money because their Indian call centre is completely useless and is Microsoft's way of screwing over its customers if something goes wrong with their products and services.
  24. I'll be rushing down to the shops tomorrow in order to prepare for the gigaton. I've been waiting a good 5 years for it to come to fruitition and it looks as if its just around the corner. This is what we've ALL been waiting for.
  25. Well I've finally done it and signed up for lessons! I'm going to be learning Wing Chun. I hope that this body of mine can do it. I will probably go 2-3 times a week for about 6 hours a week if I can manage it. I have an appointment for this Tuesday.
