It's always in front. My grandfather was vehemently behind, to the point of swearing if someone loaded it the wrong way, haha.

I always remember going to Boots, the only place to stock games in my town back then, and looking at the cool box (massive thing). The box art blew me away. Games back then were 50 quid each, and Super Metroid looked like a game that I would thoroughly enjoy, but it came at a premium price (maybe 60, i can't remember). One I could not afford as a child, and one my parents were unwilling to pay for a single game. So it passed me by. It's a game I now own on Wii U Virtual Console, I have started and put about 2 hours into it (maybe more), got to Kraid, but it feels like I was missing a power-up or two and got repeatedly beat down. I put the game down, and have never been back to it. Maybe, just maybe, one day I'll play it again, and appreciate it for what it is. But, without the nostalgic hook, I find the controls antiquated, fiddly, and unnecessary. 2D Metroid never gelled with me, Prime is where it's at. *Ducks incoming barrage of criticism.

Just finished the game with 100% everything. Put in 45 hours all together, those last few Ultimate challenges are taxing, but not too difficult. Now to finish Plague of Shadows and Spectre Knight before choosing which game to get next.

Gaming Podcasts: A Thread about Listening to Others

When Jon is on form, as he was last week, he is hilarious. I laughed a lot last week. And yes, Greg did go on for quite a bit, and cut people off, too. Not one for@Dazzybee who has an aversion to the guy. Haha Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk -

The RFN Podcast was a short, but as good as usual. With the debate of Square-Enix trying to test the validity/capability of bringing Final Fantasy XV to the Switch, I was always in the yes camp, let's do it. The way James talked about the PS4 version of the game this week makes me realise we're missing nothing much really. Wow, did he slate it. The so called open-world seems reminiscent of Skyward Sword. Gated/Barred oases in a game that self-drives you to your destination. With extremely buggy fighting and AI. High production values to hide a game without any discernible merit in its approach to gameplay. Scathing indeed. -
This game is looking absolutely great. Those screenshots are adorable. Can't wait to get this. Brian Altano from the IGN NVC podcast says this is better than Metroid: Samus Returns on the 3DS. If it's half as good as the first one it'll be well worth it.
-
Glad I was wrong about Golf Story. Another great game and no time to play it. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

They did have it down, cursory, for the 21st of September. This was promptly changed to September, and now? Who knows? Nintendo have been pushing this game for so long, you'd think they'd pencil in a solid date to promote it before it drops, so I'd say no. This is going to come later now.
-
Wow. I've never been this spoilt for choice. My new regime of only buying a new game when I've finished another is out the window for the end of the year. I already have 5 big preorders. Super MARIO Odyssey Xenoblade Chronicles 2 LA Noire Skyrim Doom There are others I'd like to get like FIFA and WWE 2K17, but will wait and see if time permits (probably not). And all that doesn't take into account the breadth of the eShop. SteamWorld Dig 2, Stardew Valley, ThimbleWeed Park, Rocket League, Golf Story, Cave Story, Binding of Isaac, Axiom Verge, Rime, etc. It's on. It's on. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Just finished the Main Story, one chest, 10 challenges and the 4 Ultimates to go. After all the time I put into it, the battle stages are excellent, however, toward the end of the game I felt overpowered and apart from the penultimate stage, didn't see a Game Over. The exploration aspect though has really soured me, it's pants. The amount of backtracking just because you learnt a new ability (e.g. pick up, etc.) is crazy. I just scoured the 4th World, and I missed one chest, so I'll have to go all the way back through to find the bastard thing Enjoyed most of it though, and had a chuckle at a few things. 45 hours in total. I won't be buying the DLC, though. I've had my fill.
-
Looks nice, any good?
-
Good question, I suppose so, but that's me assuming. And, a quick search online brings up no information about it either.
-
Haven't played it, but IGN and Power Pros podcast say that there are complete touch controls for the tablet mode. 2nd hand information, but yes it does. Apparently the Left analogue stick moves fast and the right analogue stick is slower for precision, so you can alternate between the two. Really want to pick this up, but still ploughing through Mario + Rabbids (World 4 now)
