It's here, the most essential listen for your gaming ears this New Year's Day, 'N-E Café [008] PodPals - Demon’s Crest'. A big mention to @Vileplume2000 who didn't star directly in this week's episode, due to time zone differences, but is featured chatting to @Nicktendo about our first PodPals game Demon's Crest. Enjoy!

1am is 9am here, haha. Took him swimming at 7am. Early birds.
-
Gutted I missed. Took my son swimming this morning.
-
Where will we be able to watch the stream? And, what's the web address of the JackBox app? Thanks.

Got a few students I teach that play this a lot, they vary in age from 8 to 13. There’s a lot to the main adventure mode, and 12 mini games. The mini games won’t last long, but are fun for an introduction to the mechanics. It’s all about the exercise though, you won’t get any use out of it if you’re not moving.
-
Yeah, I don’t own any of the games, but interested to try them.
-
Great idea. I would be interested, but due to time zone differences would only be able to join in the last of the games at 11pm your time, if that’s no bother. I’m not bothered what game we play either, all sound like fun.
-
That’s a game that is on my wish list, but even at sale price I can’t justify buying it quite yet. We’ll be recording our eighth and PodPals episode just after Christmas Day, so this is the final call for anyone to add in anything that you may have to share with us relating to our first game, Demon’s Crest from the SNES. Hope you’ve liked it more than@nekunando has anyway.

Taken straight from the N-E Café Podcast, my Top 10 contains only Switch games, and here it is; 1. Wargroove 2. GRID: Autosport 3. Luigi's Mansion 3 4. Wolfenstein: Youngblood 5. Overwatch 6. Realm Royale 7. Ring Fit Adventure 8. Trials Rising 9. Super Mario Maker 2 10. Untitled Goose Game Having only put a few hours into The Witcher and Fire Emblem, I can’t justify putting them into the best games yet.

Forgot to mention, can anyone guess the Transition Tune. What game are those tracks hailing from? A massive shoutout to all who have played Demon's Crest. We'll be recording the PodPals show over the winter holidays, so our schedule will be delayed. During the 2 weeks of holidays we'll be putting one podcast up. Anyone with an interest in Demon's Crest (SNES) who has opinions, whether positive, negative or indifference, tell all here and we'll fully recite your experience with the game on the very next podcast. And lastly, any listener's questions, can be anyting mundane or impactfully deep.. We'll broach all gaming related subjects. We'll be back to a regular recording schedule starting the 2nd week of January. Enjoy your holidays everyone.

N-E Café [007] Game of the Year. It’s here. A mammoth episode featuring all 4, yes 4, hosts’ best Nintendo games of the year (some couldn’t quite make the 10 needed). Plenty of honourable mentions and general game talk, including some PS4 love from Sam. In our Recent Games section, Lee talks about Dauntless and Sam about River City Girls.

All will be revealed on this week's podcast.
-
Ahhh, just worked it out. That’s why I knew it from somewhere.
-
There’s a story behind that name. I’m on the show and I have no idea about the Transition Tunes, either. However, the last one is something I know for sure, but can’t quite place it.

A 2 man show this week, Greg fell ill, and Lee and Nick take up the slack with some in depth talk about the recent Indie World Showcase. Lee talks about Simulacra, and Nick Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. We round things off with a listener question from @Ealdst. 'N-E Café [006] Cheating the System' can be found at all good podcast providers;

Great timing with the Indie World Showcase, just before recording, so it'll feature in this week's podcast. Can't wait. ohh, and a call out once again for any Listener Questions, and any guesses on the Transition Tunes (what game did they come from) from last week's podcast? Good luck!

I was reading the series. After the time jump, I sporadically read. And kept reading in chunks of about 20 issues after a long break. Well, I went on a break after about issue 180, then found the end had come and decided to read the entire series from scratch. I knew I wanted to revisit it, so I thought what the hell, I’ll start from the beginning before reading the last 13 episodes. And now I’ve finished it all. Blown away. What a ride. Andrea’s death still brought a tear, and the end story with adult Carl and daughter was so touching. Problems - no one gets bitten? old people still die, surely there’ll be incidents, they talk as if no one comes back as a roamed anymore.

Greg has also put the fifth podcast on YouTube,

N-Europe Old Year's Eve Multiplayer Extravaganza MMXVII
Londragon replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
We get New Year's Day off work in Taiwan, and I'm sure I'll be up bright and early on the 1st, which will be around 10pm onwards for the Eve's night. I'll definitely try to join in on a few games. -
It was a pleasure having you on Sam, and we’ll definitely do it again in the near future. And when you’re put on the spot to name a track from a 5 second clip, it’s harder than it looks, or sounds. As was the case with me. [emoji38]

'N-E Café [005] Dancing with Greg' is now up on all good Podcast Providers. So excited to listen back to the musical quiz, that Greg prepared for us, one more time. Was a great show. Enjoy!
-
Recording for the fifth podcast is completed, and introduces our very own @S.C.G into the fold for a musical quiz which was really enjoyable to play. See how we all fared with @nekunando as the quiz master. And, if you want to prove Greg wrong with his disdain for Demon's Crest, and show us your love for it, then drop us a line here and we'll regurgitate it in our late December podcast.

Yeah, the plus button comes in handy, and is overused. Even when flying to levels.

So, preparations are underway for the 5th N-E Cafe Podcast, including a special guest if all goes well. Shaking the formula up a slight bit, by including one of Greg's Games. Always excited for those. The Transition Tune was a lot trickier this week, at least for me, any takers? And as our PodPals Demon's Crest Retrospective is underway, any feedback? Anyone started it? My first initial impressions were slightly positive due to a healthy nostalgia of the Gameboy game Gargoyle's Quest. Graphics looked vibrant, and animations solid. A few levels in, and my enthusiam waned, due to poor level structure and a lot of the key items being hidden excessively. Shame about the framerate, too. Will continue onwards, and upwards apparently.
