Because I think so or?

Got my copy yesterday! Pascal was my special card :p Pretty fun so far, but definetly only for Animal Crossing enthusiasts. I do enjoy it for playing short sessions though! I also love how they made all QR codes from acnl work with this game, that saves me alot of work haha!

The "Chibi Robo sold bad so you need to buy this to make it survive" argument is so cheap. How could the games ever have sold well? Most of them didn't even get localised in Europe! People can't really buy the games if they don't release them. When you look at the official releases in Europe, the first version on the Gamecube launched in 2006, the next game we got was "Chibi-robo let's go photo", released in 2014. "Let's go photo" wasn't exactly a masterpiece. That's an 8 year gap and the DS games never came over from America and Japan! Most people probably don't even know yet who Chibi-Robo is or what made the first game so amazing! To be honest I rather see the series die than see it become a generic platformer forever. No matter how "ok" that game turns out it's not the classic Chibi-Robo by far. Let's hope it really does result in another great 3D adventure for WiiU or NX, even though I don't see that happening at all.

I guess I'll buy it I'm just way too excited to see all the new furniture and settings! Also there are waaaaay more detailed ways to put down your own patterns now. I love making patterns, so that's great :p

In a couple of days I'll be the coolest dog on the block though....

I just cleared the new 3DS version! Was definetly a game I enjoyed, the locations are brilliant! Only the second half of the game felt way less exciting than the first part. Still, very intruiged how the WiiU game will connect to this (if it connects at all?).

I've always loved chibi-robo, the gamecube one is still one of my favorite games. Photo finder was more of a minigame collection but at least it had the heart at the right place and continued the trend of weird quicky characters with 3D platforming. This just seems such a watered down, dumb version. It's got none of the charm of the previous iterations. I'm really afraid that this is going to replace the quirky chibi-robo adventure style games that I like. It might be a decent platformer on it's own though. I hope that's the case.

I'm pretty sure it's inkzooka and suction bombs

Congratulations to both of you!!!!!

It's rediculous that the faceplates for the new3DS are exclusive for that bundle! That's directly against the idea of the new 3DS replacing limited editions since the plates can be swapped. Sigh.

Check out this amazing trailer though:

This is a big step, it's fantastic! But there's still alot of work to be done! In quite a bit of states it's still legal to fire someone based on sexual orientation but also refuse to give a hotel room etc etc etc.

I really have to disagree with that Please remember that the original gamecube title is in fact a N64 game ported to the gamecube. When you put the first Animal Crossing next to other N64 games, I would argue that it looks mighty good. The DS version (wild world) is still one of the best looking DS games. I feel the same is true for new leaf! In new leaf the 3DS's power is just so well utilised! The art style is simple yes, but a ton of detail is crammed into anything! Different animals leave different footprints, everything is animated, colors are beautiful and so is the lighting/ shading. I really think those games look fantastic if you are willing to take a good look at them. Amiibo festival on the other hand does looks horrible. The models are clearly ported from new leaf with some enhancements. This is a very cheaply made game (if you can even call it a game). If the WiiU ever gets a real animal crossing (I doubt that at this point) it could look amazing! Just look at the Mario Kart 8 course, beautiful! I'm just trying to say that just because a game is strongly stylised, that doesn't mean it can't look amazing : peace: Scanning the amiibo cards gives you a random number card on the board you can exchange for a certain number of eyes on the dice (for if you want to land on a specific spot) (so yes you do need an amiibo for each player)

I'm not the most active forum person around here, but I remember joining because of the really intelligent conversations going on. It was so interesting to read about people's different opinions and analyse games in such detailed ways! And for many parts that still feels true! It's a shame sometimes things get into a fight, but I guess that just happens when people are passionate about something. And being passionate about something is good! I don't think the "blame" for a bad atmosphere sometimes can be put onto one person in specific, but at the same time I think that faster (temporary) bans might help. (But I've never been a moderator, so what do I know!) This isn't the most usefull post, it's also not the most intelligent one and it probably doesn't add much to the thread. I just wanted to take the time to say that even though there are some low points some times, I still really enjoy coming to this place and reading what everybody has to think! I hope it can stay that way!

Available for download in 2017, right along with flipnote studio 3D!

I am so confused! I was convinced the WiiU pro controller had gyro sensors inside! But apparently not then! What a dissapointment and a weird decision! I was going to pick one up so we could play the multiplayer mode, but I guess a normal wii classic controller would be just as good to get the job done. That being said though! WHAT A GAME! It feels like ages since I've played something this fun, vibrant, addictive. It oozes that nintendo magic! I love love love it!

I feel this very much yes, the XL design is so minimal and cute! I feel like they overdo the coverplates sometimes.

I love the amiibo, it's adorable! But, how disappointing! Yet another 2D platformer! Why is there a need for this haha? I would have preferred a full 3D adventure on WiiU so much! I guess it could turn out to be cool, but meh.
-
I played 2 of the 3 sessions and absolutely loved it! I've never played a traditional shooter, so I don't know how it compares to that. Still everything about this was so sweet and makes me wish I had the full game right now. It's really been far too long since I've played something so fun and refreshing! There is just so much detail in all aspects, hell even the loading screen has a minigame. Can't wait to play the singleplayer mode too.
-
Well it's hard to say how this will play, but I did like that trailer alot! The visual style looks great and should be a good match for the (new?) 3DS!
-
Yeah! To be honest I really doubt that this is delaying the WiiU game at all. This is clearly a quick game for the 3DS, it runs on the ACNL engine, uses all of the same assets. I think it's meant to be a little thing to make the wait for the real next Animal Crossing game a bit shorter! That being said it would be perfect for mobile devices too I guess.
-
Ugh I wish the nintendo online store would be available outside of the UK. Those faceplates are nowhere to be found in Belgium :/ The kirby one looks amazing! I hope the Boo one comes out in Europe too!
-
I think it's particulary interesting that the NFC cards feature new artwork, instead of re-using the artwork from ACNL that was made for each animal. I'm guessing that this is artwork for the new upcoming Wii U game, and as a result the cards will also be available with the WiiU game. I can't think of any reason why they would create new high quality 3D renderings only for a minigame. I also love the fact that carpets are now seperate from the flooring, that enables us to place them to our liking. I hope small improvements like that make it to the future Animal Crossing games. (Also this is the first time I created a thread, I hope I did nothing wrong, sorry if I did!)
