It's an incredibly Naive to assume we can leave the middle east alone. It's the world social issue of our generation, it's outcome will shape the future of the entire planet, not to mention that it's our fault anyway. nobody can leave the middle east crisis alone. it's too important.

Israel does not 'own' the US, but you'd be right saying they have alot of influence. The US is also going to back Israel on their 'war on terror' principles. As long as the Palestinians, Lebonese or whatever are still braded as Terrorists the US will back Israel to the hilt. this is, of course, a shit idea. As long as the US backs Israel, they don't really have to worry about repurcusions for human rights violations and such.

My view is that Israel, as the regions only millitary power, has always had the responsibility to end the conflict. I know this is alot bigger than Palestine, but in that situation, Israel withdrawing properly from Gaza and the West Bank would, with various other effrots, resolve the majority of the problems in that situation. They do have a right to defend themselves though. no question.

I have also been watching the recent events with....well, growing horror. I Didn't know about those nations pledging support though. it's amazing how fast it's happend though. I know Israel takes shit from nobody but they appear to be gonig on a goddamn rampage this last couple of weeks.... Edit: I would have started a thread myself, but...well there's more serious forums about, and I wasn't sure how the debate would go here.

Today I got a giant crate delivered, containing several hundred pounds worth of Lego, courtesy of my brothers recent work placement there. I quickly realised it was clearly the coolest thing to ever be delievered to my house. what about you guys?

I'm gonna go with the 70s, 80s and 00s. As most of you are aware, I love electro. I'm a big electrotrash bitch. as a result, I hail the 80s as the golden age of northern music: New Order, Human League and such. you can't get any better 70s had the best rock hands down. and Punk, which had it's moments. I'll even indulge in a bit of prog every now and again. and now I like modern indie bands. much love there. and modern electro.
