on the subject of Attitude: did they ever do a feature on a club night in Sheffield called Razor Stiletto? I remember being there and a photographer from one of the bigger gay magazines came and took my picture. in retrospect, two straight guys posing together for a gay mag may have been misleading.

Just saw Miami Vice. Pretty good I thought. upholds the Mann style of brooding, opressive manliness to what must be the macho extreme. I thought it did a good job of keeping events tense. Action, too, was very impressive. the sound effects alone we're an utter assault on the senses. good stuff. 7/10

A Little Soul: Pulp. excellent song. I rate Jarvis Cocker as one of the all time greatest song writers, and this is a prime example. backed up by some excellent bass, guitar and piano sounds. Simple, but a quality song.

I went out last night and, to my utter dismay, bottles of stella came to two 'fucking' fifty. bottles! not even those amusing giant bottles! just the normal ones! next month, we're embarking on a drinking session in earnest before hand. I can't afford that shit.

1. there is also no subject which should invite conversation within a mens room. ever. Men go to piss, and they piss alone and in silence. 2. sometimes it can't be helped, but generally a good rule. and never, ever work your way into a conversation with a girl in which the words 'I weigh xx stone' will leave your mouth. this will, much like a black hole, suck you into a conversation from which there is no escape, and will invariably leave you crushed and decimated.

I don't watch them all the time but years of living near the best independent cinema for many, many miles + a great english teacher with a passion for european art house has groomed a great love of all things pretentious and celuloid. finally, I intend to be a wine nerd one day. It just feels like something I should get into
