This show is brilliant! just away to watch Ep 3 now! Shame Sci-Fi got it over here. I was hoping 5 would snap it up for 5 US, they desperately need to get something worth watching on there besides CSI and Stephen King's NM & DS.

Searched for this but couldnt find a tread on it http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&col=968705923364&c=Article&cid=1161856746549&call_pageid=968350072197 Seems there is some karma in the world, Sony's profits for July-Spetember are down 94%! Thats a 'mere' $14 Million dollars, instead of the $214 Million at the same time last year. The christmas quater doesnt look good either, only 400,000 PS3s and they're still loosing money on recalled batteries! Finally, justice rears its ugly head

hmm, personally the possibility of living forever scares me more than death, hence why im no longer scared of death. Imagine everyone you know and love dying while you dont age a year and the whole world changes around you. Now that IS scary! lol, never heard that put better

Its a hard drive, or maybe they put the blue light back in

The purpose of life is to live the way you enjoy. Screw this 'Social Responsibility' rubbish, its how to die bored. Live for the moment and die on the edge! I wonder how people on here want to die? In your beds? Being shot? Falling from a cliff whilst scaling a mountain? Or do you want to live forever?

Or maybe their readers dont see 'Hardcore Gamers' as being a club thats mutually exclusive to Nintendo fans? Theres plenty of support for cutting edge graphics from 'hardcore' gamers, just look at the PC market, the hardcore there are spec fanatics! In fact, those that think last gens graphics are good enough for a next-gen console are far in the minority, the only thing that sells the Wii is the controler. Empire are a good mag, usually fair and right on the money, score wise. Its good to see more support for the Wii :awesome:

There arent many from the GC, most of the ones that would work well will have Wii sequels anyway, the only point in a remake is to tell the story from that game. The first 2 Metroid Prime games would be my choice (could be sold in a trilogy pack?),
-
Its a simple marketing/production thing, if they launced with Black and White they'd end up running out of stock with one colour and being left with an abundance of the other colour and a load of brassed off customers (think it happened with the black GC in some stores)

Excelent The sort of thing i was hoping for, and around the time i'll be buying a new comp too!

IMO both are very close, but Plasma wins on value for money. Lets compare the 2 top of the range models, the Panasonic TH-42PX60 Plasma and the Philips 42PF9831 LCD (they seem to be the 2 highest scoring in reviews). I would put them both about equal in terms of picture quality, the Panasonic has been prased for the sharpness of the picture and the way it pulls off dark colours, the Philips for its ambient lighting technology. The major difference is price, the Panasonic is £800-£1000 cheaper.

ATi the company is no more, but AMD will keep the branding Could be good news, i'll be interested to see what AMD do with ATi. DX10 cards tailored to work perfectly with AMD processors?
-
if this game turns out good i think i'll be getting a 360, it seems to have a pretty good selection of games and its price is similar to Wii (Xbox 360 Premium + 3 games, 2 controllers is the same price as a Wii with 3 games and 2 controllers on Gameplay.co.uk)
-
looks nice enough, just looks like GC/Xbox games only a little sharper and with better player models though sonic looks shite though, cant even see a difference there
-
Actually its both emulation and compatability. The Wii hardware isnt GC hardware and therefore the Wii needs a GC 'emulator' to allocate the Wii's resources correctly to the GC games. This is only possible because the architecture is the similar, the more different the architecture the emulation layer of software has to do and the more laggy the game gets. Think of it like running a Windows 98 game on XP (closest example i can think of).

A Fusion Tour style event would go down well over here, ive been desperate for one for years (mostly because every year theres at least 1 band i want to see on it )
-
I really want this album, cant buy it until i get payed though Beck is brilliant live! Saw him at V festival this year, they had puppets of the band on stage! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Beck+V&search=Search

wow, gonna be a good week! Lost, South Park, The Nine and Robin Hood!
-
they need more colours

I would reckon the Wii will have worse frame rates. Why? Because developers will push it as far as they can in order to make the graphics look at least a little competitive, but your point is still good. I dont play a lot of console games these days, ive kind of converted to the PC, and nearly every game i play i run in lowest settings because the framerate is the best ([lies]has nothing to do with my crappy 64MB GCard[/lies]).
-
ouch Why are people getting so touchy about people complaining about the price? Are we all to suddenly decide that Nintendo making extra profit from PAL consoles is fair?
-
Im not sure yet, the X360 looks good and the prices are very close. Also there might be another Xbox price drop before then
-
Wii Sports is a gimmick, theyre bundling it because nobody would have payed more than £20 for it. Wii is VERY expensive, £180 for the console, £40 a game and £45 for controller + nunchuck. Your looking at £250 for the console, Wii Sports, 1 other game (probably from a choice of Ice Age 2 or Cars) and an extra controller!
-
Sorry, but thats bollocks. Even with VAT Nintendo are still adding £50 onto the Japaneese price and £30 onto the US one. Companies seem to be realising that we automatically blame VAT, and are profiting from our stupidity! Take VAT off and the console is about £162. In the US its £133 and in Japan its £113!

This is Real - Wii Price & Date - Nov 19th US & $250 USD
McPhee replied to NintendoDS's topic in Nintendo Gaming
America have a sales tax though, different in every state but the average is about 6% (i think) $250 - $10 = $240 $240 = £127 £127 + VAT = £149 So with tax, it will be £150. Any more than that and we are being ripped off by Ninty
