  1. Argos are selling the 360 for £250 at the moment (think it ends Tuesday). Also, Xbox Live for £33: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-Live-month-Gold-Membership/dp/B000B5KMSE/ Theres a 10% off code for Choices doing the rounds at the moment, makes it the cheapest place around for most stuff
  2. It would be near the top of mine if i had a PC that could run it. Give me a console version and it will drop in just below UT3
  3. Super Smash Bros. Melee or Brawl (depending on how it turns out). GC/Wii
  4. No, they were hated last year too. And the year before that. If anything, they are less hated now than they were a year or 2 ago On the subject of Linkin Park, can anyone really judge how worthy of a headline slot they are without hearing the new album? Nowt has been released since Collision Course so it remains to be seen if they still have what it takes. Im a bit disappointed tbh, saw Maiden last time they did Leeds and not interested in MCR, leaving me with Linkin Park as the sole headliner i would definitely go and see. Ah well, looks good for the other festies; we have Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins and possibly Rage Against the Machine to find places for!
  5. Wish i had my 360, having to wait until Monday now at the earliest! Got copies of GRAW and Oblivion sitting up in my room, sealed and tormenting me
  6. Just watched the video and made a couple of edits. Assassins Creed! OMG! I'd heard that game mentioned a lot but didnt really know anything about it. Off to read all there is to know, it looks awesome!
  7. 1) Smash Bros. Brawl 2) UT3 3) Halo 3 4) Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn 5) Fable 2 6) Assassin's Creed 7) Metroid Prime 3 8) Super Mario Galaxy 9) Mass Effect 10) Blue Dragon
  8. Bragging rights, tbh i think thats the reason for 90% of HDTVs sold. Unfortunately, if you need a new TV there isn't really a lot of choice out there. It might be worth a look at SD CRT sets if you can pick up a decent one on the cheap to tide you over for a couple of years otherwise its the HD LCD route (assuming you don't have a grand lying around for a Plasma).
  9. Be a good neighbour. Bake him a cake from his own dogs turd to apologise for dropping him in it! Add some of you're own if you like... im in stitches!
  10. http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk Should find what you're looking for on there and you wont be limited to Dell or paying the PC World mark-up. An Acer or Fujitsu-Siemens would probably fit the bill the best
  11. SD - Standard Definition i.e. 480i, the resolution that ordinary TVs use
  12. i got £200 for my Cube, 8 games, 4 controllers (all official, 1 wavebird), 1 memory 59, 1 memory 256, DS, Mario 64 DS, Advance Wars 1, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Battlefield 2 and Dawn of War. Not the best deal ever, wish i'd sold on forums rather than to Gamestation now. Just didnt see that door, only Gamestation or Ebay (who i wont use)
  13. Some handle SD better than others, but generally stuff looks inferior in SD. This is more to do with LCD not being as capable as CRT, if a manufacturer made a decent HD CRT it would wipe the floor with every LCD out there.
  14. Worth pointing out though, i just went to book some 360 games and they only have about 50 titles at the moment. Anyone know what blockbuster's library is like? Any better?
  15. Supposed to be a good TV. Out of interest, have you considered this model? http://www.home-entertainment.toshiba.co.uk/consumer/products.nsf/pages/lcdplasma-lcdfreeview-32wlt66?opendocument Reviewers seem to think its the dogs bollocks and its in the same price bracket as the sammy.
  16. Lovefilm.com to 2 games or DVDs at any one time for £15 a month. Im using it at the moment, allowed me to play through the last few GC games i wanted. Use this code for a 3 month free trial: LFXX98763 (new customers only) As for 360 games; Argos are doing 2 for £40 on some good games at the moment. Any 2 of: Viva Pinata PGR3 The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Hitman: Blood Money Perfect Dark Zero Kameo Quake 4 Call of Duty 2 Football Manager 2006 Tomb Raider Table Tennis Moto GP Prey Far Cry Instincts Tony Hawk: American Wasteland Tops Spin 2 Chromehounds Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter Im picking up the ones in bold on Thursday along with a 2nd hand copy of Table Tennis (last time i was in Gamestation had loads for £13). Will let you know if they're any good Tesco have dropped the prices of some of their games too: Tomb Raider - £17.97 Quake 4 - £17.97 Kameo £17.97 Perfect Dark Zero £17.97 King Kong - £17.97 Final Fantasy XI - £15.97 Dynasty Worriors 5 - £16.97 X-men - £17.97 Gun - £17.97
  17. brilliant idea! I want to see Sothe in there, the Thief fighting style would be awesome! Really fast and offensive but not able to take many hits. And maybe one of the powers could be to steal items from enemies Soren would be a nice addition too, could have his moves as a mixture of Zelda and Samus.
  18. i think that is a chipped console and those games are copies... My 360 is coming on Thursday. Second hand but got Premium + Extra Wireless Controller + Rainbow 6 + Live Arcade + 11 Months of Xbox Live + Reciept. Only cost me my Wii, Zelda and Wii Play (including remote). Basically £240 Pretty good deal i think, traded in my GC + DS for a Wii, played it for a week and then swapped it for a better deal on a 360 than Gamestation could offer me in the first place. Just got to get saving up for another Wii now, got from now until the day Smash Bros is released!
  19. BUMP Got a 360 coming on Thursday with Rainbow 6, 2 controllers, live arcade and xbox live
  20. heh, good point. Didnt think BWii or Metroid were confirmed for Q1 or 2? TBH even with all those the only titles the only ones i would actually miss not being able to play are Metroid, BWii and possibly Eledees. I'd have bought Zelda on the Cube. The problem with the Wii is the age-old Nintendo curse. 3rd parties wont commit to porting decent multi-platform games, leaving a massive void between Nintendo titles and exclusive 3rd party releases. This void tends to get filled by whatever dross turns up on the system; it happened with the N64 and Cube, its happening with Wii. I don't want to do that any more. It strikes me that this is Nintendo's new excuse. They've been missing these games since the N64 days. They spent the whole of the Cube's life cycle trying to get multi format games on the system and failed. With the Wii they don't have to be seen trying because everyone knows 'its the hardware difference that's to blame'
  21. No exclusive titles is better than NO TITLES AT ALL! The Wii seems to be getting ignored by Nintendo and 3rd parties in equal measure. People talk about how 3rd party support is good but if this is truly the case then where are the big multi-format titles? GRAW2? Rainbow 6? Final Fantasy? UT3? Metal Gear Solid? To me the Wii's release line up looks like this: December - Zelda January - Nowt February - Excite Truck March - Mortal Kombat April - Nowt May - Nowt June - Trauma Center Anyone see why im a little disappointed? Did i miss some major games out? BTW, looks like im selling my Wii. With the shortage its easy to get the same as i bought it for in the first place
  22. best deal ive found of late: http://www.shopto.net/page.php?page=dettagli&codart=XB2PR04 That pack probably the best buy around at the moment and available at Gameplay, Woolworths and loads of other retailers for £300. Last time i was in GAME they had bundle deals with this pack in, thing it was £309 with Smackdown Argos have some good games in 2 for £40 at the moment EDIT: Next best price i can find, same pack but for £289. http://www.simplygames.com/info/14591/XBox-360-Console--Premium-System-Entertainment-Bundle-XB360 Just in case you dont want to order from ShopTo
  23. Yup, on here at least once a day reading stuff. Don't feel the need to reply to every thread though 10.3 posts per day nah, you're no addict...
  24. i love this chip, has been all over the web for about a week with some daft people saying "waste of time, Nintendo will just brake it with a firmware update" despite about 6 posts per thread saying the chip cant be touched by the firmware... i wish these modders would spend their time on something more useful, Region Unlocking, Homebrew or Wii Media Center for example
  25. I was talking about console bundles, the Xbox 360 deals are far better than the Wii ones and actually bring the prices down to just about level. As you decided to go down this road though: Wiimote + Nunchuck retails at £45, 360 Wireless controller retails at £33. Bit more than a £5 difference, especially if you add a classic controller on top of that. New Xbox 360 games might be a little bit more (£40 to the Wii's £35) but again there are some excellent deals around at the moment. Argos are doing 2 for £40 on some brilliant 360 games and Tesco have some good games at £18. Right now the 360 is the better machine, it has a decent back catalogue of games, many of which are available on the cheap. Microsoft seem to be doing a good job of keeping gamers involved in the community and keeping them informed about what is going on. The Wii on the other hand has a limited catalogue of games, all at full price. The release radar is looking a bit confused and Nintendo dont seem to be in the mood for telling us what will be happening when (online play, connect24 updates, game releases).
