So I had a date with a guy at the weekend. We had been texting around a week or two before we decided to meet up. We just went for a coffee (or three, as it turned out) at Starbucks and seemed to get on quite well. He is newish to the area and lives about 20 minutes away from me (in the car). I had a good time, it was nice to kind of click with someone pretty much straight away but I think he's the kind of guy that most people would be able to chat to and feel comfortable with in no time at all. We're going out to Pizza Hut tomorrow night. Date 2! Already! Ha check me out. Dating is all pretty alien to me - I've been on quite a few dates, don't get me wrong, but none have progressed like this could. As in he's actually a nice guy and not a fuckin idiot as most gays I've met tend to be. I get the impression he likes me and I do like him too, it's just whether it's enough to push on with for something more serious? Who knows. Anyway, I guess that's what the second date is about right? Gauge the feelings, awkwardness of date 1 out the way so can just carry on enjoying (hopefully!) each others company?! We'll see. I shall report back fellow daters / love searchers.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

This lady is interesting. Apparently she is behind the drums for Girls Aloud's hit 'The Promise'. Like this song of hers a lot. Always loved Avril Lavigne. Went through school and college listening to all of her stuff and am a pretty big fan. Her lead singles for new albums are always pretty chanty - this one is one of her stronger leads IMO. I've posted before about my fierce fierce love for Diana Vickers. She now has a new record deal and is gearing up for a new single / album release. Only thing we have so far is a minute and a half clip of lead single 'Cinderella'. I have broke the repeat function. I fucking love it and I love her. -

Well you're correct in saying that the original song is 'okay', but I would never call that a generic female pop sound. They've only laid vocals. I think it transforms it from a song that in original form wouldn't be out of place in Eurovision to a pretty slick pop song. -
No. I haven't bought 3 people... Paramore's new album of course!

Love love love. Made a good song better IMO -
Wow - all the stuff you mentioned I knew nothing about. But your right, it does / did sound great - particularly the endless stage!! That would have been brilliant. Tie that with online leader boards to see how long people can last before they lose all of their lives and that would have been a pretty amazing challenge! Yeah it's not a perfect game by any means, but I love its simplicity and it's ability to completely suck you in. It tends to be these type of games that have got that 'just one more go' effect - and you don't get many experiences like that any more I don't think. The only gripe for me was the replaying of stages. Not the need to have to do it (as obviously, you gotta replay if you don't get what you need!), but more the length of time it took to replay certain stages. Particularly world 7's boss fight. I messed up at the end part of that so many times - and it was right back to the start all over again. A bit of a kick in the teeth that ha. But yeah, I highly recommend the game to anyone. Best £12 I've spent in a while! Let me know your final stage clear times when you finish Red!

Nope no unlocks which was surprising as Master Woodwin suggested there'd be something more! He led me on haha. My final score was 179 which was the same as my normal run. I reckon I could get more, but I was so pleased to finish it I've just stopped for now! Wow 9 hours! You're clearly a lot better at the game than I am!
-
Aaaaaaand game complete. All gold flowers on both normal and fast modes! Man that last stage on fast run was a biatch! I can now get back to every day living and start talking to people again haha. Seriously, I have been an absolute recluse since Saturday with this game! 18 hours in total it took me! Crazy times haha. Hope there is a sequel - this is up there with Elite Beat Agents for me - although not quite as good. How's everyone else getting on with it? I feel like I have taken over the thread haha.

Heh sounds cool

So started on fast mode. Gold flowers on everything for the normal run (man that final level was fun!) Went straight into the fast run and seems I did better than the normal one haha. I almost prefer it at a slightly faster speed at the moment. It's a little easier to keep the beat I think. I am obviously going to totally regret saying that but I look forward to the challenge! 10 hours in and still loving it. Easily my favourite eShop title ever!

My love affair with HarmoKnight continues... I have done all of the worlds now on normal and gold flowered them all. I am up to:

Up to the final boss battle - had to set the 3ds aside before I lose my temper! So damn tricky! I really want to gold everything but I can it see it being very very tricky indeed. Not tried a fast stage yet but the thought makes me a little scared haha. Absolutely brilliant gem of a game though. I will just say this... If we do not see Tempo as a character in Smash Bros I will be fuming! He is perfect for it. Using his staff to belt opponents off the stage it's gotta happen!

Totally agree @RedShell That's the one gripe I have with the games controls so far. I have to say though that I really do not like the CPP so am glad that there have been no games that require it so far. Optional is fine, but I am yet to play a game that's better with it.

Me too Dem0 - it's one of those games that has to be played in 3d. Doesn't look right otherwise! I was missing about 5 from the first mansion. I love how shiny the jewels are - I get quite excited when I find them! Also for those who are a bit into mansion 2:

If you die, a dog comes and eats your bone and licks you back to life. If you die again - you have to restart the mission from the bloody beginning - as what happened to me before
-
I think it does yeah - it also took a while for my eyes to adjust to the dark before I noticed it. Also, try what Ronnie said - that does the trick too! Following on from my 'glitch' before...
-
Hmm looks like I've got myself stuck on the game and there appears to be a bit of a glitch.

Totally agree with @Roklie Arkham Asylum was by far and away the better game. I thought Asylum was one of the best games the last gen where as City for me was a bit forgettable with too much going on. The open world was kinda neat in that you could fly around and really 'feel' like Batman, but it lost the familiarity of the locations that worked so well in Asylum. Therefore I felt it got quite forgettable and a bit of a chore getting from one place to the other. Both still great though.

Cheers guys really appreciate that

Further to my post in the 3ds eShop thread (basically lots of buying haha), I have just noticed that my SD card does not have a huge number of blocks left. It says I have a couple of thousand left (around 3000 something). I'm looking to buy RE: Revelations but this is probably gonna push it to full. Anyone got any hot deals on SD cards for the 3ds at all?! Cheers!

Oh man this is doing my bank balance no good at all! I just got Luigi's Mansion 2 and am in the process of downloading HarmoKnight. However, I WILL be downloading Mercenaries and an very very tempted by Revelations. I am really enjoying having games downloaded on my system rather than cartridges. It just makes playing games so much easier - especially on the go. Good job we have a 4 day weekend for me to get through some of it!!

I just watched the latest episode of Nintendo Video on my 3ds and they went into a bit of detail on this game - have to say it looks terrific. Seriously good stuff. I like the Lego games, but am tired of then being the same cut and paste job in a new superhero or franchised world. It's always too samey. This looks to totally break that trend, at last, and looks like great fun to play! I love all the Nintendo nods too - very clever! Definitely a purchase for me at some point!

Turns out it does glow in the dark - checked last night and it was A-OK!
