  3. facebook winz for the social networking, myspace for the band malarky - and for those who like to see what visual farts would look like. Seriously, the majority of the pages on there look like they were made by a blind monkey with no fingers. Facebook's uniformity ftw.
  4. update the scoreboards for rounds 8 and 9 you bastards!
  5. Lock stock! In terms of the guns... The Italian Job and the cliff... Eternal Darkness (the game) and just the general twisted sanity effects... Those books by Paul Jennings - particularly the one where a kid gets bitten by a new type of invisible ant and runs away... Most books by Chuck Palahniuk, in particular Survivor and Lullaby... Sasuke getting badass on Naruto... Chinatown ("mother... sister... mother...") ... The '99 champs league final. And Twister.
  6. don't forget the scoreboard doesn't reflect the last round's points either!
  7. it's a pile of poo.
  8. just fed a daddy long-legs (not a harvester!) a scab i just peeled. Awesome.
  9. gimme results and my score from the last round!
  10. generally speaking, in england at least, if you 'die in your sleep' it is considered to be enough information about the death. Sure you can ask and be told the specifics about the death, but perhaps it's a left-over from christian belief that this sort of death is seemingly more natural; something that does not reflect ill health in particular. Of course every death has a reason, but saying just this assumes that in some way the reason could have been avoided. Dying of 'old age' is generally seen as the unavoidable end. And as for this discussion becoming nonsensical and a little off topic - well to be honest it's still at least flowed from one point to another, which is more than can be said for some of the more chatty, larger threads that (imo) dampen the entire forum's spectrum of conversation and just swallow up several differing topics that could have made for a healthy thread. It's almost as if having a thread only a couple of pages long is a BAD thing. ^.. but yeah all that is probably a rant better off elsewhere.
  11. I've not really seen his tv series, but i've seen a few of his stand-up thingums, like flanimals, and they're definitely funny.
  12. CRITIQUE! (sorry :P) Well the thing that struck me was the descriptions. I understand you're setting the scene but the trick is to describe things in more mentally visual terms...For sure you're describing the mountains and cities in terms that everyone understands, but not truly visual terms where the reader can imagine sweeping over the continent, or truly understanding the scope you're aiming at. Take your time describing each one - big and notorious mountains deserve a description that reflects this. Name one or two, maybe describe something that happened on one or some weird culture associated with it. Bit rushed for time so i'm sorry i'm not really helping with this post!
  13. I asked him to bring me the nail clippers i left in sheffield like three months ago and he's still not here yet. And he hasn't bought me an xbox 360 either, so I figure I get Diemeister to smuggle him into Japan, smuggle some gymnasts back and everyone wins.
  14. that's already been answered too. But you'd know that if SOMEONE UPDATED.
  15. It ranges, depending on social activity mainly. 7 if i'm working and not doing anything in evening; probably 10-15 if I am.
  16. But clearly everything was cool in the eighties!
  17. Hey, everyone wants to be a pirate! A cool pirate though, not a safe one. Swear down! Blud.
  18. awesome Could you smuggle me some kids?
  19. WHO IS RIGHT! Because if I'm wrong, I get to guess again, right?
  20. I was about to say I try to use filters and stuff, but I'm guessing you're a filter-free kinda guy?
  21. Not quite :P I don't get the heady high every cigarette. I'm very tempted to just steal a quote from frasier. So I will! The ritual element of rolling the cigarette, layering the tobacco nicely - not too night or too loose, sizing up the roach and the skill involved in rolling creaselessly is enjoyable. Brings peace to my mind before I've even had a drag. Blowing smoke is fun! And now there's a smoking ban on, smoking is a nice excuse to get away from the noise and either enjoy a few mins of myself, or chat with like-minded, drunken smokers like myself and to relish -as we all do- in the fine art of complaining about the Others. And there's moer but I gottago!
  22. The debate's gone back and forth and around because both smokers and non-smokers are aware of that. I know cigarettes can cause cancer, infertility, harm my pregnant baby and so on - it's on the packets. What non-smokers don't get is that you can actually physically and mentally enjoy smoking, and that sometimes I like to enjoy things. Yes, I'm taking a risk in doing so, but it's my choice. Lots of people do things that hurt/will harm them; Smokers, drinkers, those tattood or pierced, people who go to clubs often, inhaling paint fumes 'cause you're a painter-decorator, eating fast food, too much salt, too much this or that, people who take drugs, drink lots of caffiene, ballet dancers and their feet and SO on. Smoking doesn't kill every smoker. Awful viewpoint, but true.
  23. 12 - charles manson? I definitely know 23 though so RISQUE!
  24. Blackfox - Don't forget to protect the minority from the majority! Protection is more than just about health, it's about freedom, and as you may have noticed, smokers are the kind of people who like to have their freedom. I could spin off a mega-unbalanced analogy about health-vs-freedom in a horrible world, but that would be a bit silly. UK - Tsk. Giving up? Twozzok - Agreed!
  25. You're right. Want to braid? I like tea. Do you want to be allowed access to the vets board?
