Um... I think I've probably been through about three versions of me in the timescale we're looking at here. I've experienced the insane joy of philosophising the shit out of everything, but then had to crawl through teh inevitable realisation that exists on the 'other side of the coin', as it were... I've certainly gotten hairier and no doubt lost a few hotornot points, and generally have learned when to be a selfish bastard (like when they give me awkward change at a checkout, I will stand there until i am done as it is my right not to be shooed off like some stray dog), and generally I think I hate the world a lot more but have less people who are willing to sit and bitch about it with me.

Arg! damn you! I've still not seen the last 3 episodes of season 3, and there's this shop up my road that has up to season 8 for £12 each and I'm sooo tempted... but argh! Can't without finishing 3! Today I'm rushing over to Bencoder's house to pinch the ps1/master system 2 that he/we found the other week before he heads of back to uni town. Then I'll spoil a few hours with Abe's Odyssey before heading to a young lady's house for a dinner that she is making Ta-raa.

And I said that we shouldn't have more than one-at-a-time. That's the main reason for the downfall, if you ask me. It leads to confusion.

I do agree with you a lot there - surrounded by lots of people doesn't mean loneliness isn't an option; frequency is important. Scattering about between groups of friends is just going to have you pulling and swaying between those different aspects of YOU -- those fragments that shine out strongest depending on who you're with. But yeah, what is is that makes people look at someone and go "hmm, they seem interesting, I want to know more about them.." I mean, I find I am asking other people about their lives waaay more than anyone is caring to know about mine. being able to recognise the positives is the thing, as you say. It's just all too easy to start equating your current status with some sort of magical formula that just says "your life is getting worse." Personally I feel less worried when i fully embrace the mystery of the future - when i remember teh chance friendships i've made, the spontanious moments of my past that I could never have predicted. Loneliness disappears when you know you have something to look forward to. Works best when you have something to do in the next couple of days combined with something to anticipate in the long run. Doesn't work so great when all you see ahead of you is a list of Things You Have To Do; dentists, doctors, exams, moving house, whatever. But alcohol helps you forget! yay!

*schocked face* Er, you'll find that I don't want the game to end because I am a mafia whore, and think it will be of great injustice for any of the games to just splutter and die. Also I have an awesome role. I'm going to (change?)vote: Jonnas because there is information on this target.

Vote: Vicar to get things on the mooooov.

my day = woke up at mate's house, tea, chips and a fag before I was ready for the day! Went home, sorted out a date by which i should DEFINITELY know if I have this job or not, then perhaps went a bit too ahead of myself, invited three people to a mate's birthday bash before asking him, and he wasn't exactly cool with it.. and uninvited me :'( So, uh, yeah. Night in playing chess on facebook, using MSN for the first time in months and eventually a chance to finish watching Cypher and start another movie before I enter another day of raining boredom! woo!

I've not been keeping up with them - only just re-downloaded their first LP so will probably keep an eye out for that I disagree that it's run-of-the-mill. It doesn't seem to have the same lifespan as Deja Entendu, but.. just no p.s. everyone listen to mewithoutYou again. I figured it wouldn't be a post by me in this thread if i didn't mention them.

ah I see! So one has to be a girl who wants to post the picture all over teh internet in order to ask for such a thing? useful to know. The blue's good. it looked nice and glossy to begin with, but it faded in different places at different speeds which really annoyed me - d'oh for semi-permenant. I still need to decide between short-and-blue or long-and-dreads...

Man, of course I'm lonely. Nobody knows me, but then why the heck should I let people in that deep? it's not fair on them. I don't know. Everything's a coping method. I've got a few 'spark' friends but I don't see them all the time, or they're miles away or whatever. Blah blah. bad head. Think clearer. Would it be bad to say that often it feels like I exist to amuse/entertain others, and that's all they see me as? I guess it would be worse to atempt to self-analyse and label my own inner workings as anything resembling narcissism. i think loneliness is basically the inability to amuse oneself... Perhaps derived from being unhappy with yourself, maybe including the projection of blame onto everyone else? Hum.

Gargle. it's practically a friend's birthday every day this week. Today it's three - but two other people are having a joint party which is/isn't going to be a party. I dunno. Too poor for booze, I think. my painting job still has life in it -- will get a call mon/tues to certify/nullify whether I'll cry or not. Ho hum. Been having cravings for Rock Band pretty much ever since I left Sheffield I don't know anyone drunk enough to order a copy with all the peripherals, dammit! Don't throw it away, just stick it in a drawer that you never use someplace. I was wearing a ring my ex gave me for a fair old while, and it got to me... but then two years? if it holds no significance then feck it.

Ok so I think I'll edit teh first post/title to say September 20th as more people are objecting to teh 13th. make a note in your diaries, folks. Caris' mention of Devonshire Green is a good one - personally I prefer botanical gardens for its mix of seclusion and proximity to good shops. dev green is full of scenesters and emos, not as big, but right near Devonshire Cat which has good cask ciders! I suggest a trip there at night time to sample them (looks at Dan Dare specifically), perhaps on the friday if people are going to do the Hostel thing again. I only had a brief search for hostels and all google threw at me was hostels for abandoned/homeless women and shit, so yeah... Someone else'll need to take charge and sort that out. If Shorty and I had a massiiiv house then we could cater for y'all, but it's only a small lil' thing, and would most likely burst at the seams with you all in. having said that we're not ruling out the possibility that we'll groom and select our favourites and bring them back for gimping and pimping tea and pancakes... More of a home-from-homeland :P BUT YOU HAVE TO COME! Humour implied = the humour that is INEVITABLE, based on success of hyde Park As for our joint-friends (which I seem to have a lot of with you crazy n-ers, for some reason...) they could be invited, but I don't know them too well and I genuinely think they'll be a bit scared. First year uni 'start' date usually includes fresher's week. Even if it doesn't, this'll be on a saturday! As shorty said, I've done the trip from brighton, and I've also done it from newport. I may even be going brighton > Sheffield > Newport > Brighton > Sheffield in the space of a week at the end of august >_< YOU HAVE TO. Again, weekend But if it's too far then that's totally fine. But ye will be missed. Tis true, we will be acting mightily immature, but it woul be as if the seas parted if you make an appearance! BOOYA! p.s. wear the suit. lies and lies! Bard you are a source of constant entertainment to everyone. cumplz :'(

Er, ok. With images of our Hyde park fiasco still burned onto my retinas, I'll attempt to patch together plans for a meet up in Sheffield. The month will be September. The date will probably be... either Saturday september 13th or IS Saturday 20th. If we suggest meeting at between 11am and 12pm at the train station fountain, then we'll head for the botanical gardens to do more of the same, except... well, more I suppose. There will be about 5 minutes from tescos there, too! Er.... what do you think? I really feel like I'm jumping the gun here... Those who are DEFINITELY going to be there; dan dare! jayseven! The Bard! Nightwolf! Cube! Eevilmurray! Warandchaos! Davey_T! Harribo! Nami! Shorty! Raining_Again! Sheikah! Mr_Odwin! Plus, y'know, special guests...

yeah, as noted with the unofficial quiz having dissapeared also I guess I'll just have to declare myself a winner of that one...

Well some of us have retakes to do (bah) which, I think, is 24th August, so earlier is bound to be after that date. So, uh, should I be making a new thread for this? EDIT: ok I've literally just learned when my timetable starts. Stupid-ass Induction = friday 26th sept, course itself starts monday 29th sept. Freshers fortnight beforehand, too. What are your plans for relocating to sheffield?
-
Well Bencoder might be sleeping in our flat dude :P and, er, rummy also gets some dibs if ben doesn't come... but besides that - YEAH! Back off, bitches. Shall we say a preliminary First Weekend Of September? EDIT: And what's so scary about being near to me! Ask any one of the 15 people from teh online that I've met, I'm right nice, me. Right?

Gluck ReZman. Hope you fixed the "mallice" before you sent it in.
