  1. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on the N64 was my first frame of reference for the game, and probably the last title that I got from Special Reserve... except I didn't buy it, I won it in a competition. The subject of which, was to write an article about the impending launch of the GameCube in the UK, and I ended up winning. The prize was a videogame of my choice, and being that it was new out at the time, and expensive... I went with THPS2, as there was nothing else out for the N64 at the time that I either wanted or didn't have, so for me, it was a solid choice. I played this game for hours, me and my brothers loved taking turns trying to go for high-scores, or playing the various multiplayer modes such as "HORSE" which was a favourite, particularly when one of you would look away from the screen for a moment, while the word in place of the default of "HORSE" was being changed, and then gradually finding out what choice word had been selected for the unfortunate lesser player of that particular match. I'd never played a game like it at the time, and I never have since, though these days, I'd probably default to the superior Dreamcast version, or the Xbox port, which was NTSC exclusive, though I might be able to play it on my Xbox Crystal, so I should probably check that out when I next decide to play the console.

  3. Not as far as I know, though I haven't tried to order anything from there recently. Which case for the Nintendo Switch were you trying to order? If you get really stuck for one, I probably have one or two Switch console cases down at the shop, I can have a look for you if you like? The case would be second-hand, but in good conditon, no idea if that's any good to you, but I could likely beat the Nintendo Store price by about £5 including postage. If they are charging £20 per case, I could sort one out for you for £15 or less including postage I reckon. No worries either way, and in the meantime, if you can order one through the Nintendo Store, then all the better.
  4. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 07) The seventh week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - See you next week!
  5. Even a "Classic Mode" wouldn't change the physics though, even though an additional mode would be welcome. To me, if it doesn't play exactly like the original Super Monkey Ball games on the GameCube, then I just don't see the point in playing it, at all. If Sega and Nintendo were ever to put GC games on NSO, or just offer the original games, but emulated to a decent standard, I'd be more interested in that at this point.
  6. I won't be playing Smash tonight, I got back late, I'm tired, and unlike Shulk... I'm not really feeling it. Hopefully you're all still having fun though, and Terry will almost certainly be back next week to ask that all important question... "Are-you-OK?" (Busta Walf!)

  8. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 06) The sixth week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Here is a recently posted article... Wario Land 4 will be added to Nintendo Switch Online February 2025 It's about time Wario Land 4 was added to NSO, though there are a fair few other missing games which could be added, though I get the sense that Nintendo will want to space out the NSO releases between now and the release of the Switch 2, when more console categories will surely be added. See you next week!
  9. Second option, and see how it goes, last night's matches were fun though.

  14. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 05) The fofth week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Here is a recently posted article... Ridge Racer 64 added to Nintendo Switch Online February 2025 Definitely check out Riiiiiiddge Raceeeeer 64, as it's an interesting arcade racer, a unique version developed by NST, and it's just a lot of fun to play in Single Player once you get past the CPU behaviour, plus it's a blast to play in Multiplayer, either locally or online. See you next week!
  15. According to a quick search, I found this Reddit post which seems to imply that you'll be receiving a refurbished system, so I don't know if that means you'll be able to keep the data or not... https://www.reddit.com/r/3DS/comments/myuatx/does_anyone_know_what_this_means/?rdt=62873 But who knows, maybe they found some ways to transfer either all or some of the data to the refurbished console?
  16. Fixed, so now it's "no problem". [/MarioVoice]

  19. Yep, a re-tooled version of Rare Replay would do very nicely on the Switch 2, it could even launch with the console... depending on when it launches, it would be very close to the ten year anniversary of Rare Replay, as it originally launched as an Xbox One exclusive title on 4th August, 2015.

  21. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 04) The fourth week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Here are some recently posted articles... New SNES titles added to Nintendo Switch Online January 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Events Schedule I'll still be using the Switch 2 graphic in the banners for these eShop updates, but I'll keep the news icon to the original Switch... until the switch to... Switch 2 of course, which it really feels like isn't that far away now, especially with the recently announced Switch 2 experience events. It's excellent to hear that we'll have some N-Europe staff members present at the London event, congratulations to @Dcubed @Glen-i and @Ugh first aid of course. I look forward to hearing your feedback on the Switch 2, and I've mentioned that you'll all be there in the article, so hopefully we can get a hands-on article up on the main site, when the time comes. Before that though, there's still work to be done, and I'll do what I can each week, putting up reviews and the odd news article, plus an overhaul of the side-boxes on the main site, it just depends on what I can get done on Sundays/Mondays at the moment. @Cube is doing an excellent job of keeping content on the main page with the All N64 games articles, plus with promoting N-Europe across various channels, and it's great to see a new banner up on the main page, as even though the Switch port has its issues, Donkey Kong Country Returns is still a great game, plus it's getting a good reception still overall generally, so it's nice to see that art being used again at least. We'll see what we can do between now and April in any case, as it would be a good time to start again, plus it's great to have a new Nintendo console just around the corner, so let's hope that the release date isn't too far after April... Q3 2025 at the latest, surely? Not long now either way, and still a fair few Switch games to enjoy before then. See you next week!
  22. The trademarks couldn't be to do with the new Sonic Racing: Crossworlds game which is being released this year, possibly? Though there would need to be more Sega trademarks updated at around the same time perhaps. I was just thinking back to the excellent Sega All Stars Racing Transformed (+ Banjo-Kazooie & Co) which had a lot of Sega themed tracks, including Skies of Arcadia, Panzer Dragoon and more besides with various tie-ins across multiple platforms. I mean... it's even in the name, Cross Worlds.
  23. I just did a quick search, apparently Nintendo can transfer between two 3DS consoles from their end, they just need to know both serial numbers of each console, and the NNID... though, that was presumably before they shut everything down.
  24. But, is it still possible to perform a system transfer if the touch screen isn't working?
