I dunno I feel a blu-Ray would kinda just get lost, like a straight to video release, that only those in the know would look for and buy. Screen them before movies, put them on the Disney channel or whatever the best TV outlet is nowadays. I felt I got a better insight into the StarFox universe and cared more about its characters in those 10mins than every StarFox game that's come before... combined. They were given such great personality and treatment, and made to look damn cool.

Nintendo should be partnering to play that in cinemas before the big animated movies!

I'm stunned. That humour, that voice acting, that art style, and most importantly THAT WORLD BUILDING! I love this sort of stuff. Start releasing Saturday morning cartoons and animated movies Nintendo! Remind today's world of your characters and brilliance.

Yeah never saw this coming out this year. And I'll bet there was no one looking at the Horizon footage last year wishing it would look better.

Oh good god yes, it's far less offensive than a micro transaction full game. Also, I know it's not quite the same, but Amiibo. Fun modes in a game locked away for those who spend the extra money. Now you could argue you can pick and choose which games you buy Amiibo for, but over time and the course of the Wii U/NX's life cycle... Arguably this locked content is worse than the opportunity to have improved textures, lighting, frame rate... Not that we even know what the differences will be yet. Also it's providing you with the opportunity to can play 4K movies right? and get the most out of your TV. It would be equally frustrating having a 4K TV and knowing the games you buy could look better if only someone supported the option!

Sorry Ronnie but the NEW 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors runs perfectly, whilst the 3DS version has fewer enemies and you can't even turn on 3D... What's been frustrating me today is you don't even seem to be factoring in that we do not even have confirmation of what the PS4K is. Everything is hyperbole, absolutes and assumptions. I don't see why you're taking it upon yourself to get so worked up over rumours. For all you know Sony will give you £200 off a PS4K if you buy one. They may not at all, but the fact is that's just as likely a statement right now. And really, why do you suddenly care about a few up-scaled textures and the like? You were happy playing Wii games whilst the PS3 and 360 were in HD. And every multiplatform game on the Wii and Wii U for the last 8 years has been an inferior version. You and others still buy them.

Oh so you're ok with everyone having to spend another £350 in 2 years to play PS5 games and bringing this console generation to a close significantly early. Brilliant. Btw 2 years into the Wii and everyone would have bought a Wii HD in a heartbeat. The demo'ing situation is going to be weird. We'll have to see how they go about that. But then PC games are demoed all the time.

We're all watching the same videos here... what about the point that this could just be a future proofed PS4? To me that seems perfectly rational. Are Sony supposed to wait another 7 years to take advantage of 4K TV's?... an industry that they are highly competitive in themselves... and both of which go hand in hand with their new venture of PSVR. Makes perfect sense to me, despite the fact I only bought a PS4 last year. Also as Shorty mentioned, there's no need to develop multiple games. As with PC, you just select the version of the game your system support and the game up-scales accordingly.

'thanks a lot PlayStation' was you blaming them for singlehandedly bringing about the end of this generation after 3 years, despite the fact Microsoft are also rumoured to be looking at such a console step, the fact it doesn't signal the end of this console generation, the fact that if this is an upgrade or new SKU these things happen all the time etc... etc... No one knows the facts. Like I said, you come in straight away talking in extremes, of course it's going to ruffle feathers, just as people doing so does in any thread. I take it you agreed with the rest of my post.

Maybe because you expressed it in a juvenile way that was bound to ignite such response. Comments along the lines of... You've been coming across so bitter and angry, over something that no one in the industry has even had confirmed yet. Of course people are going to match that emotion with equal emotion when replying. If your comments were a bit more considered maybe they wouldn't provoke such a reaction. It comes across to me no real different from the behaviour you seemingly despised Wii for. You're just talking in extremes all the time.

What will that mean for the releases though? Will we be getting a combination of console and handheld style experiences coming to the NX to appeal to both sides of it? Because if so, I don't see how anything changes. If Nintendo however only focus on home console experiences from here on out, that can also be played on the go, then what you say is true; however development times will be a lot longer creating purely home console style experiences and thus general Nintendo releases will be fewer than they are now.

God this is getting boring between the lot of you. With regards to the news about the NX software output, I hope it doesn't come at the expense of quality. Whilst we'll always see a range of top tier games from Nintendo, I hope padding the year out with titles like Mario Tennis, Amiibo Festival etc. Isn't the solution. Very exciting though! I'm more than ready for Zelda and NX. Nintendo back in my life is long overdue. EDIT: Having said that, I've just been reminded by Ronnie's post that a lot of the output on Wii U just didn't appeal to me. Which Nintendo we get with NX and the style of games they choose to release will have a big influence on me. If it's a continuation of the last 3 years I won't know what to do. Hopefully other studios like Retro and other partnerships will be more at the forefront.

I had no idea. I don't follow TV tech - the way everyone's been talking I thought these TV's were way out of most people price zone.
