  1. We're not going to agree on this one. Although...the comic timing between the content of my post and the Spurs result does show what I was getting at. The result seems crazy on the outside, but it is less so the more you look at it. Juve should have had a penalty in the first half and the defending that led to both Juve goals wasn't great. Chiellini was outstanding in the second half. Blocked everything.
  2. I would consider having a go at a team and losing 3 or 4-nil or a heavy scoreline to be tactically naïve and a bad result, regardless of how well a team had played. Imo, you can't play well and then lose 3-0 or something like that, because surely that goes against the definition of playing well. Football is about attacking, but you also have to defend and defend well. There's a reason why Liverpool splashed out so much money on Van Dijk, because Klopp understands that. It's no good scoring 4 goals and playing well if you then go on to concede 5. That would piss me off immensely. I'm pretty sure Liverpool fans didn't care about "playing well" when they got pumped 5-0 by Man City or lost 4-1 playing Spurs. Sure, football is about entertainment. But, it's a game and games are about winning. Of course, if Mourinho sits back for the entire game and offers no opportunity or chance to win the game, then he'll rightfully be slated by the fans. But, if he plays all-out attacking football with no thought to the defence and we end up losing by three goals, he'll also get slated by the fans. There has to be a balance. An intent to win a game, but also to know that there is more than one way to win it. The fact is that if we play open, expansive football and try to play a high line with full backs bombing forward and Matic trying to hold an entire midfield by himself...knowing full well that Liverpool have pace and players like Salah in their team, we will get ripped apart like tinfoil on the counter. That is tactically naïve. Of course, if we win 4-0 and Liverpool fluff all of their chances, then you can disregard everything that I say! But, at this moment, the point still stands.
  3. Yesss, United should play to Liverpool's strengths by playing open, attacking football and allow Liverpool to rip us apart by countering us. I'm not a neutral. I want to see a United victory. If we win by playing well, then great. But, Jose will never live it down with the fans if United lose by 3 or 4 goals, which could happen if we play too open and naively. You have to play the bigger games with your head. It'll finish a 1-1 draw, imo. The alternative is if Klopp goes in playing very open football, which he may well do, which then enables us to counter. We've got the players to be able to do that. I don't think Liverpool fans want to be on the receiving end of a 3 or 4-0 defeat either.
  4. De Gea is just unreal. Truth be told, he didn't look that fantastic today, but that save was exceptional. Love the man.
  5. Fucking yessssssssss. Beautiful fucking goal! Terrible, god-awful first half. Substitutions changed the game. It just gave us a bit of pace and an extra dimension that we were lacking in the first half. The team didn't start playing until they were 2-0 down. We need to start more games like we finished this one. It's almost like the team need to score a goal before they settle down and feel more confident.
  6. Just to make it clear, I was mainly talking about 5x5 deadlifts. I think Stronglifts 5x5/Starting Strength is a great program to get you going and to get all of your compounds up. But, at the same time, I found 5x5 deadlifts to be just too difficult to do. Certainly not at the working/top weight. As Raining said earlier, Mehdi (guy who created the program) suggests only 1x5 deadlifts, going heavy of course. For me, I found that plenty. Occasionally, I'd throw in a second set. But, eventually you'll be pulling bigger weight and it just won't be sustainable for 5x5. Also...it can be a dangerous exercise if your form starts to suffer due to fatigue.
  7. Should have known better. The added insult was getting subbed off at the end. Also, abysmal substitutions by Chelsea. Far, far too late in the game to do anything.
  8. It's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy there. Teams are scared that City will rip through them...so they set up to defend and just allow City to have the ball and rip through them. Also, it's much harder to score goals when your strikers are on the bench. Not sure what Conte was trying to do today. Hazard was set up to fail.
  9. Crazy news. At 31, too. Reports saying that he died of a heart attack in his sleep. I was half-expecting Arsenal to go there today and get a big result. Did not expect them to lose that game! If Wenger doesn't go at the end of this season, then he should when his contract expires next season. Saying that, the next 5 League fixtures look ok. Watford (home) Stoke (home) Southampton (home) Newcastle (away) West Ham (home) You've got Man Utd away after that. I fully expect United to win that game. But, those 5, Arsenal should be winning all of those games.
  10. We've watched it all bar the last two, which we're going to watch tonight. I love it. Really love the subject matter and the tone of the show. It has a very similar tone to Les Revenants in places, which I absolutely adored.
  11. Yeah, I agree. I stuck with 5x5 for ages, but then I just modified it and was doing 3x5 for squats and 2x5 for heavy deadlift sets (or even 1x5 at times). 5x5 is great at building your strength and will help you get the mechanics of the lifts nailed down. But, there is a time to move on from it. Even them, 5x5 for deadlifts at the same weight for each set is not something I'd actively recommend. You do have to leave some room for your other lifts. I've gone back to a more traditional 3x10 with moderate-ish weight, focusing on working the muscles. Quite enjoying it. Although, for deadlifts, I've stuck with 5 reps as 10 reps for deadlifts just sounded like torture!
  12. Oh no, it didn't come across that way at all. I agree with what you're saying. The assembly idea is an interesting one. Maybe it's a case of actually getting in doctors or educated speakers to go into schools, colleges and other establishments to educate the people. It might not necessarily need a whole week's worth of work, but definitely a 30 or so minute discussion would go a long way. You only need to plant the seed, really. Get it into people's minds and remind them that this is an option. I do think educating younger people/children is a good step forward, but then there's also a whole big current generation of people out there who are none the wiser. So, I wonder what can be done for them. Maybe there needs to be more coverage on television aimed at discussing the benefits of organ donation. I guess it's something that a lot of people don't think about until you're thrust into a situation where you either need an organ or maybe you get asked a question about donating. I didn't catch that documentary, but it sounds pretty interesting. Might try and track it down later. I don't think it's that controversial a statement, but I do still think that there is a "moral" element to this. I think as soon as we start forcing people to do things with their bodies (whether they're alive or dead), then it's just dangerous territory. Morally, I think humans should help others and I think organ donation is a very generous way to help others in need. But, I still think that you should give your blessing to do so. The choice should still be there. So, from my point of view, it's about giving people the information to want to make that choice. Not necessarily making it for them. Morals aside, I think it's a fantastic way to help other people who are in need or even just for the benefit of science. I'm very much for it.
  13. Sounds good, but 5x5 is not my cup of tea at all. I guess it depends on what your body can handle, but Deadlifts will seriously tax you once you start pushing your limits. You may want to have working sets, e.g. 3 sets building up to 2 "heavy" sets. 5 sets of 5 reps at a heavy enough weight will wipe you out.
  14. Salah is just insane. How many will he finish on for the season? 32 goals in 38 appearances. Could well finish above 40. Crazy numbers.
  15. Would be amazing to have this out before the end of the year. Do we know for sure how far along this is?
  16. Trying to find some information regarding this. Found this link here: Children joining the ODR Children can join the ODR but their parents or guardians: must give consent after they die, or until they reach 16 or 18 years old depending on where they die in the UK. Not sure what happens when it becomes opt out. I'm assuming that parents will have the final say in that situation. Hmm.
  17. I...don't even know what to say to that! Who thought that this was a good idea?!
  18. Would it be as simple as a box tick? I assume that you don't need to do anything other than just tick a box saying that you wish to donate your organs in the event of death. So, in that case, maybe doing it with voting registration is the best way. I'm all for it, but I think that you should be given a choice. As for the issue of family having a say: If the person in question has ticked the box saying that they want the organs donated, then I don't see why a family member would have any right to go against those wishes. When it's the other way around though, where the person doesn't express a desire either way, that's where it gets a bit complicated, imo. PSHE/PSHCE coverage really depends on the school's individual curriculum and attitudes to it. Some schools treat it as a bit of a box-ticking exercises, whereas others will view it as essential to helping to build a well-rounded individual. I don't see any reason why having the subject of organ donation slotted into that curriculum would be a bad idea and I think that education towards this is important to make a more informed decision. It's interesting because the audience on "The Big Questions" were all for organ donation. There didn't seem to be anyone against it. So, you'd think that there should be a huuuuge donation rate in this country.
  19. You won't be playing City every single week. Playing them twice within a week is a raw deal.
  20. A good start to the second half for Arsenal. Think they needed that penalty to go in to have any chance for getting anything from this game.
  21. Hmm, think Arsenal might be the right sort of club for Mkhitaryan. Not sure about Aubameyang. Mkhitaryan was too inconsistent at United and spent so much time on the bench because there were other players who were outperforming him. The competition was high. He will get more games for Arsenal, so that should help his confidence as I can't see Wenger dropping him.
  22. It's sad to see Wenger going out on a whim. But, City are really at least one or two levels above all of the other league teams. I don't think Arsenal are THAT bad a side and they are a bit unlucky to be 3-0 down. City have excellent technical players and can defend pretty well. The midfield of City is much tighter than Arsenal's, which is probably where the difference lies, as well as the attacking players. Arsenal's attackers don't look anywhere near capable of scoring as much as City's players.
  23. I'm watching @Eenuh play this whilst I watch the Arsenal/City game. The game looks fantastic. I loooove the style of games that Team Ico create and I'm sad that this will be the last one that I'll play and that there's no more after this. It's very minimalist, but it works so, so well. Not sure which of the three will be my personal favourite when I start and finish this game.
  24. It's a weird game because Arsenal are still going forward and getting into the box. But every time they shoot, it's either at the keeper or there's a block from a player. They just can't get the final bit right. City are so ruthless that every time they enter Arsenal's final third, you feel that they'll score again.
