They cant think of anything themselves, they just steal ideas. Others have done it but Sony are the worst and most people think they invented the D-pad, shoulder buttons, analogue sticks, rumble and the rectangular shape of normal controllers. Wouldnt a new franchise get crushed by all the classics? Nintendo dont have a flair for advertising so I doubt it'll get much recognition outside of Nintendo fanbase.

My grandparents used to own a pub. My grandmother didnt smoke, but she died of lung cancer, caused by yep you guessed it, passive smoking. Saying that passive smoking is a product of the media is bullshit.
