  1. Yeah I think you have to have the same prescription for a year or something.. My sister is getting hers done, and its costing just over the £3 thousand mark... Expensive stuff. She got this crap in her eyes that made them dilate to full size. Mega freaky. I'm really prone to eye infections too (daily episodes of minor conjunctivitis) so I don't know if I'd want to risk ANY corrective surgery... keep the needles and the lasers awaaaaay!
  2. Ahh thats a very interesting link, thanks Ineee =) Yeah, I definitely need to get mine looked at because its very often sore (like a horrible pulling muscle feeling, urgh) but I'm pretty sure there's little they can do.. It seems to be a pretty minor procedure from what I can grasp... Just a couple of cuts and stitches, woo. I'd love to get my eyes lasered but I don't qualify having a strong long sighted prescription means you haven't got suitable amount of cornea (or something) to work with. b00.
  3. Ohhhhhh you can get strabismus fixed? I'm due an eye appointment asap and mines gotten a lot worse so I really need to get someone to look at mien. I had a squint so severe it nearly went in behind my nose, had to have lots of surgeries to fix it. Theres a link between immune problems and eye muscle weakness - myasthenia gravis I was out for the count with my surgeries, probably because it was a/ the 1980s, and b/ a 2 year old wouldn't be easy to work with!
  4. You having corrective surgery? I've had it done three times and I'm still alive, promise!
  5. Ewwwww. I just watched the Embarrassing Illnesses clinic... and they had squint correction surgery on... Groossssssss.
  6. You'd think people in their right mind would be banging the door down to get that sorta thing done for a happy healthy child..? If I had the opportunity (if i was to have kids) i'd probably PAY to get it done if the technology was there.
  7. Oh second thought, I shouldn't have bought the 2 scratch cards I bought earlier... My lucks been far from good today xD Got a reams worth of paperwork that I had to datestamp, sign in and sort by date and location... Urgh. My boss ended up having to assist because the phones were so busy and we were understaffed.. Another tiring day, yay.
  8. ...and extra annoying when they steal your chippy!!! Its weird, I actually miss the gulls squawking... They tend to hang around where I work on occasion (not sure why) and its really nostalgic!
  9. If you don't feel comfortable chancing it, then go for a tux.. Ask around with people who are going and see what they are wearing (maybe)? I still think the suit is hot though
  10. lol, Dingwall, that's an awesome name I definitely miss living in the fresh air, now I live more inland (ireland), and right beside a couple of factories haha. Can't beat the fresh smell of seaweed and the good ol gulls. Ah.
  11. Hi welcome to the forum

  12. Inverness d0000000d, high five! I'm originally from Elgin! Lovely clean sea air... mmmm.
  13. I didn't lie to them.. The fact I wasn't going alone was probably the dealbreaker. I just said... so er, i'm going to sheffield to meet some internet peoples off a forum.. can you lift me to the airport? (haha)
  14. What we want ain't always what's best for us! I'd love to pay no tax at all, but we'd have to pay privately for everything! (and that would be me royally screwed)
  15. I think I do agree in theory, although there are risks, its worth the research. Also I think there should be a lot more research in genetic modification for existing cases like... if you could find a "cure" genetically for what I have (psoriatic arthropathy, a immune disease), I reckon millions could be saved in treatments and care.
  16. I'm loving that both shippy and bleach (anime) are on extremely awesome canon plot stuff at the moment! woooohoo! I also agree with Shorteh. The crappy characters that have been brought in for both filler stuff and some of the movies really sucked. Especially the princessy ones. It feels more like a canon plot with the characters in the actual anime rather than some whiny newcomer!
  17. woo aimless rocks! Happy birthday!
  18. I told my mum and dad that I was going to meet weirdos off a gaming forum I'm not really bothered. It was bad when I was in high school though (early 00's) when the internet had a massive stigma. Now everyone's on it! So its improved for me more than anything. Other than that everyone I know knows that I'm a big freakin' weirdo anyway. And my mum and dad are pretty cool about stuff. -- In other n00s.. I had a really pisspoor day at work. Was doing my filing (each person does certain geographical areas of data input) and no one thought to inform me that there was a mass of paperwork not signed in. So I had to go through about 2 reams worth of paperwork, fish them out and sign them in. FUCK YOU FUCKEDY FUCK FUCKER. I got it finished by about 4.56pm thus getting none of it actually processed... >_< (this was recently after a HUGE argument between me and the colleague who didn't bother signing them in, in my absence, like we're supposed to - thick as fuck bitch.) Boss came over and said something weird today. We're very shortstaffed because a girl in work lost her young daughter recently, and someone's off sick after a pretty major op (hysterectomy). Because of this he basically said.. "I want you to make sure all of the calls are very prompt today so we don't get the missed calls we did yesterday..." (i was off yesterday) "..although its not really applicable to you" He then went on to tell me that my call turnover was less than a minute, and by far the fastest... I think he was actually shocked that I manage to pull those kind of stats. I was brutally honest and said what I thought, that it was so bad yesterday because I wasn't there.. And he pretty much agreed. I'm so tired of going on leave and coming back to the place falling down around me. They all have been in their post for some time (2+years) so they should know what the fuck they are doing. tl;dr - you suck, work!
  19. wahey bleach was decent enough this week! Inoue's as useless as ever haha
  20. "The programme originally ran from 1963 to 1989." ... Perhaps that's why?
  21. 11stone would be bmi of around 22.1 so that's about right i didn't even have to calculate that... shows I'm a lifelong dieter that will never reach my goal ever hahah (and I'm the same height as you) I'm still hmming and haing about joining the gym. There's so many skinny people that give me strange looks as if to say why am I there - not sure if I can put up with that. Might start walking more...or something. I've taken a hiatus cause i'm always feeling sick these days and exercise is the last thing I want to dooo
  22. "It's a brilliant noise, I love that noise!!" And so say all of us I don't think they would get rid of it... Dr who isn't the same without the noise
  23. Today I just spent the guts of £100 on trainers... Damn.
  24. You sure your fridge works? Joking aside, i have to keep my meds at a certain temperature, so maybe? I find full fat butter is always like that, even the semi-chilled (read: lukewarm) stuff I got from works canteen.. *shrugs*
