  1. Great Direct. So many games covered. The only thing missing was one first party Switch reveal, but they've got enough on their plate for now with Mario, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and Kirby. Odyssey looks it'll steal the GOTY crown from Zelda, looks absolutely INCREDIBLE. Oh and re: Doom Good way to handle game card size restrictions.
  2. This post on gaf sums things up for me
  3. I think a Champion's Ballad DLC trailer is possibly likely? Or they may hold off on that until closer to release.
  4. I'd add to that list a first party Switch game reveal: Animal Crossing? Smash? Pikmin? Oh and a big Splatoon 2 update.
  5. EDGE gave this a 9: "if Odyssey is to be Mario's best game this year, it has a pretty high bar to clear. Now there's something we never imagined writing"
  6. I very nearly bought the Sexy Brutale on PS4, very glad I held off now, will get it on Switch. I played Figment at EGX Rezzed a few months ago, good fun and lovely visuals. So many games !
  7. Steamworld Dig 2 and Thimbleweed Park on the same day! Sorry Ron Gilbert... Edit: and apparently Golf Story on the 21st as well??
  8. I really hadn't considered the above as the reason why there's no Virtual Console at present but it makes complete sense. I've probablt picked up about 12 eShop titles so far and I definitely wouldn't have bought half of them had I been able to play old Nintendo titles. Nice one H-O-T.
  9. re: Achievements, it's not really enough to just copy trophies from PS4, if Nintendo do implement them I'd like them to have a tangible purpose rather than just a series of tick boxes. I'd like to see them tied to a Badge Arcade style thing where getting an achievement gives you a sticker you can then place on your Switch home screen to decorate it. Another idea would be to have them tied to a Streetpass puzzle piece kind of thing where each one gives you a part of a large (animated?) image. Or as above suggested, simply tied to MyNintendo points.
  10. I wonder if they'll port this to Switch in a couple of years, I may hold off on getting it for 3DS for that very reason.
  11. Wow, fantastic reviews. I love how this game was announced at E3 and out three months later. Same with Mario + Rabbids.
  12. Or the MegaMan Legacy Collection please please please
  13. Yeah an OS update is long overdue. I love how quick it is but some added functionality would be cool. Folders (why is it console manufacturers can't have this at release??), media apps, and an achievement system (long shot) would be great. Maybe throw in some new themes, eShop music etc. Not sure a Direct is the sort of place they would show all this though, seems more like a press release kind of thing.
  14. Suggests Mario, Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade, Metroid Samus Returns to be the main focus.
  15. Wow, 45 minutes! And like Serebii says if they follow the frantic pace of their last Direct, it should be packed full of stuff I didn't think they'd spoiled much of Odyssey before now but I'm worried that'll soon change! Very excited though
  16. The new update makes threads MUCH more visible, especially being able to tell which has new posts. Huge improvement.
  17. Yes, GOTY nominee at most outlets that year Shovel Knight. 91% on Metacritic Shovel Knight.
  18. Apart from you know, Shovel Knight, Inside, Rocket League, and dozens of others
  19. Just finished this. The backlash against this game is absolutely ridiculous, IMO. It's a really great game, and doesn't deserve being shit on to the ludicrous extent it has been. Sure the animations aren't great but put that aside and you're left with a top quality experience from start to finish. It's really sad we'll likely never see a sequel.
  20. Of course they're spoilers, don't watch if you don't want spoiled like HOT. Every game released has gameplay demos put out, we've seen plenty of the new Assassin's Creed for instance. The question is do Nintendo spoil too much. For Smash Bros, I say absolutely, their daily content updates were just too much. For Odyssey, knowing how much content are in 3D Mario games, I don't think we've seen too much at all. (oh and like I said, we've never seen non-trailer gameplay and Treehouse demonstrate things so agonisingly slowly that 30 minutes may as well be ten minutes.)
