I haven't been on live in weeks.

You could always buy a widescreen monitor, that would be the cheapest option.

There is ony one - ER

Out of all the 26 inch models made, the sony tv's are definantly one of the best. The samsung one sint in the same league.
-
Yes, the one I had required a firmware upgrade to enable but it played video pretty well, certainly better than the ipod.

People that moan about the creative being too big know nothing. The iriver that I had was probably the thickest mp3 player I have ever seen yet it had the most functionality of any. Had videos long before the ipod did.

There still good tV's don't get me wrong but comapred to the Panasonic's and the Sony's they are rather ropey.
-
I'll give it a go for you, you wanrt me to try it on a mp3 player also? Edit: Ok tried it using this program here It converted it to mp3 and it worked perfectly, sadly though it is only trial version - which means it only will allows you converted items.

Fair enough but is it really worth waiting for £50 odd more for a far superior TV

The samsung is a decent TV but its analogue picture quality compared to other similarly speced tv's is shockingly bad. You can get hold of the Sony KDLS26A12U for just over £800, its the cheaper of the sony's but has a much better analogue picture. Youc ould also get the Panasonic TX26LXD52 for £800 which is also the cheaper of the two panasonics but again its up there with the sony. According to the website it doesn't have an HDMI input but someone I know says it does Sony KDLS26A12U http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/index~modelcode~SON-KDLS26A12U~dt~Televisions~st~LCD+TV~make~Sony.htm Panasonic TX26LXD52 http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/index~modelcode~PAN-TX26LXD52~dt~Televisions~st~LCD+TV~make~Panasonic.htm You will probably find these TV's cheaper if you run them through pricerunner.

Which would also an age away. At the moment you cant find a 512 version of the 7800 gtx anywhere let alone think about the 7900. If your willing to leave it 5 odd months then fine go for that

If I remember correctly Metroid prime 2 was one of the first games in Europe to feature no 50 hz support. I believe this is a trend we will see more of as developers will care about bigger things than whether your 6 year old portable can play it, as basically evey tv nowadays is manufactured to support 60. Its something which is really made very clear liek alot of things regarding tv's, such as ntsc compatibility - but that is for another day.
-
The best laptop i have seen is the new dell inspiron 9400, it features the new core due, 1 gig ram, 7800 gtx go and 17 inch widescreen for 15,000. The Macbook pro costs a bit more and is not as featured pack.

HTPC - Home Theatre Personal Computer
-
I aint sure if it is free of tv standards, as of course the US version will have no 50 HZ support but the European one may have. Anyway as jordan said you dont need an HDTV to have to get 60 hz, most tv's nowadays can display it.
-
I was considering getting one but I havent got enough room in by bedroom for a desk so no imac Gonna get one of those HTPC instead.
-
Yea the game will boot on 50 hz but it wont work, has to be 60 hz.
-
Have to hand it to apple for the price of the imac, even at the most expensive configuration it still costs around £1200
-
Don't necessarliy wait for socket AM2 obviously it will be newer, but its performance over 939 wil be neglegible to say the least to begin with. Also the x1900 is suppose to own the 7800 gtx 512 and also be cheaper and actually available in the shops. I would definantly go alienware. Iy my opnion the evesham website is stupid and hard to navigate where as the Alienware is easy and intuitive. If money is no object I would also recommend Voodoo, their PC's are amongst the best available and they also look amazing.
-
If you really want one pre built I would definantly go Alienware, not only do they have great systems but they are built perfectly. You can configure basically anything you want http://www.alienware.co.uk

Fair enough, now how many championship sides lose to lower league oppostions then?
