  1. Graphics issue

Did you order from dinopc in the end?? Been reading reviews and they seem to send you used replacement parts. I ordered mine from there everything is fine apart from the wifi adapter which they have agreed to refund as I'll get my own. Also no case cooling so the insides get too hot. They have told me they are going to send me a fan though. My point being do you have an exhaust fan with your pc? could it be a heat problem?
  2. Another new pc thread

Cheers for the reply McPhee, I'm not sure what to do now, the PC you suggest is good for what I need right now and much cheaper but if I want to upgrade I'll have to buy a whole PC since it doesn't seem very future proof (ddr2 and so on) I'd rather spend a bit more to get more and last longer than buy all over in a few years time I think. I could be talking crap though since I'm not all up on PC speak now. Still its your advice thats made me look at Dino Pc's in the first place which is great so thanks for that! Do you think the set up I posted above will work well together?
  3. Another new pc thread

This is what I've found CPU: 01018 - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition CPU Cooler: 03001 - Standard CPU heatsink & fan Motherboard: 04049 - Asus M4A785TD-M Evo (AMD 785G Chipset, 4x DDR3, Onboard Video) Memory: 05028 - 4GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 2GB) Hard Drives: 06004 - 500GB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s Optical Drive: 07003 - 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA Graphics card: 08038 - Onboard Video Sound card: 10001 - Onboard 7.1 Audio Operating System: 11014 - Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Internet: 13003 - Wireless 802.11G PCI card PSU: 18011 - 500W Eagle Case: 17016 - Piano Black ATX Warranty: 1000 - 3 Year Bronze Warranty from HERE All for £471, what do you think? Its similar and cheaper than the original PC suggested. I can use my current sound card and GPU so no need to buy them Still I can't help thinking I'm going OTT for a PC i'll mainly use for music, moves internet and the odd high end game. I used to spend my life on PC games so its hard to get the old gamer out of me and buy a cheap PC! A huge expense is updating windows, I could save myself 80 quid and stick with Vista but 7 looks so much better! Paul
  4. Another new pc thread

thats a great website thank you so much for your suggestions, better yet its based in Team Valley, Gateshead, just round the corner from me! I really hope its not my graphics card that the problem, but with all the issues I'm having with my PC I'm thinking its just too old! Sometimes it wont boot up and I have to use my windows disk, which I wouldn't think was my graphics card. Thanks again Paul
  5. Another new pc thread

Hi I need your help please:grin: Well it looks like my PC has died , I'm not even sure what's wrong with it but its old and slow. The motherboard fan doesn't work, the graphics card doesn't kick in so I can't be bothered. I'd love to have a go at building my own but I don't have the confidence or time to do so. I used to use my PC for gaming but not really that much now, it would have to be good enough to run crysis on decent settings but it doesnt have to be able to run NASA. The graphics card I currently have is Nvidia 8800GT, I'm not even sure if its good any more as its quite old, as I said I think one of the problems could be the graphics card. Hopefully I can use it again. I'd say I'm happy to spend about £450 but I can go over. I know nothing about current PC specs since its been so long since i've looked into anything. I'm gonna try use my old GPU but if it doesnt work Ill just upgrade later Anyway HERE is what I've found. I'm looking at the ones priced £429 or £489 If anyone can let me know if they think these are any good or suggest other places to look that would be great! Thanks
  6. PC - TV DVI - HDMI!

Thanks I ordered it and I should have my new TV today yey!
  7. PC - TV DVI - HDMI!

Sorry If this has been asked a million times but I'm going to buy a new TV tomorrow and I want to connect my PC, xbox 360 and Wii to it. I think I'm gonna go for a 26" LCD one as my Room is quite small and I think sitting in front of anything bigger would just be stupid. Now I'm confused by the connections I can't really find a TV which has DVI connection But I know you can get an adapter for DVI to HDMI for the TV. Dones anyone know what kinda quality i'm gonna get with this? I do want a good picture quality when I play games on my PC. Bit I don't think I have room to have my 19" LCD PC monitor AND a 26" LCD TV, I don't want a small LCD either as I wanna watch DVD's and stuff. Any advice? Cheers
  8. The Resident Evil Series

I love RE:2 I do wish they would remake it as its my fav all time game, the story is great the music is amazing, and I think it has a great ending. RE:3 i didn't like so much, just finished RE:CV for the first time last month, really enjoyed it. I've always been a fan of the series I remember playing RE:1 on the PSone that was amazing for its time, the remake is cool too as is Zero.
  9. USB HD security

Hiya, Well I did a stupid thing tonight! I set up another user account on my PC running vista. I didn't want them to have access to my USB HD so I fiddled witht he security and now I have locked myself out of it! When I try add myself it says I don't have permission to do it! In the security tab there is "admins" "SYSTEM" AND "PAUL PC" all have full access! How the heck to I get access back! I'm so annoyed at myself!
  10. Give Blood.

I agree I think its sooo stupid I can't give blood because I'm gay. I get tested every 6 months and I have never EVER had a single STD. As the above post says it gets screen before anyway! Its just daft
  11. bye bye Evesham

Yeah I love my Evesham PC but they were bought out by the people that owned Time PC's apparently. They went down hill after that! Also i read that Mesh and even Dell are struggling, not so sure how true the Dell part is though.
  12. bye bye Evesham

Just had a phone call from a mate, who has an Evesham PC like me, just to let him know they have gone into administration and his warrantee is not VOID! Also trying to sell him another warrantee with someone else. I've had my PC from just less than 2 years now and have lost out on the 3rd year on site warrantee. So just to let anyone else know who has an Evesham PC!
  13. Drinking

Im off to Glasgow in May for a weekend, where are the best places to go??? I was quite late really as I always looked so young so could never get into bars till I was actually 18. Even then getting wasted every weekend didn't really appeal to me. However, from about 21 and making new friends I started going out nearly everyweek and still do now. My poor poor liver!
  14. Random Facts

1 in 5 adults did NOT know you can catch HIV from unsafe sex! I just read that, so was the first thing I thought of, but come on who doesn't know that!
  15. Your N-E Agony Aunt

I agree, I was quite lazy at school and it wasn't until my GCSE's came up and i kinda though "oh shit i know fuck all" i so i went though books copying loads of stuff, it was boring yes, but i learnt so much! I think your teacher is a bit old school, now its all about keeping the pupils entertained. She should be teaching you in the lessions and leave the note taking for homework. You could get her to spice up the lessons a bit though! Just ask. I'd be going over her head, and getting mother and farther involved! I'd be going nuts! This kinda happend to me once but I did base my work on a article that my teacher knew, I didn't think I did anything wrong but I was annoyed how he said it was word for word and I had just copied and paste of the computer, which i did NOT do!
