What's the benefit of conferences over Directs for people who aren't attending? What's actually different? Conference: You go online, you open twitch, you go to Nintendo, you watch. Direct: You go online, you open twitch, you go to Nintendo, you watch. Same information would be given, one just more efficiently than before. It's all in your head. If rather than the Direct format, Nintendo had every one of their Directs as a conference, same content, would you have watched that? The Directs also get a lot more reach than you give them credit for.

Then they can do it as I suggested. Direct for everyone who isn't media, and a media event that essentially is a press conference without ego stroking and fake applause for the media, running at the same time.

Why would they follow a press conference with a Direct if it's giving the same information though?

For people at home, it doesn't matter if it's a Direct or a live conference. I'd say it's better for the former for higher production values, no waits for applause etc. There is no reason why it should be a live conference, the differences are purely psychological. That doesn't mean they can't do a media event at the same time though. Wouldn't be the first time they've done that. Press will get the information either way.

Yep, if not February Come on. Name me a year where Nintendo's lineup for the year in January has been the lineup the year ends up with? Nintendo often has titles with short reveal to release cycles, some better than others. For example, off the top of my head. All of these were released less than 12 months after their initial reveal. Many even 6 months and in the same calendar year. Super Mario 3D World Captain Toad Treasure Trackers Majora's Mask 3D Twilight Princess HD Mario Kart 8 Splatoon Hyrule Warriors Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Bros Hyrule Warriors Legends Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Pokémon X & Y Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Pokémon Shuffle Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon Pokémon Picross Pokkén Tournament (Wii U Version) To name but a few as the list goes on and on. Essentially ~80% of Nintendo's products have less than a year from reveal to release. There is zero reason to think this lineup isn't going to increase.

To be fair, with Nintendo it is quite common for a short reveal to release period of games.

If I recall correctly, the Japanese version on the Wii U included rumble functionality into the GamePad so that should carry over here.

Wiggler wasn't so bad. Took me 10 minutes. While the 400 health thing was annoying, I noticed I didn't need to take down Wiggler from that. Kamek got in the way and kept getting hit, which caused it to die and then the battle was over.

Smyths is just across the road in the retail park on Mallard Road

Too far for taxi and bus takes too long (already had to alter time due to site stuff), turning it from a 1 hour journey into a 2 hour journey and I get motion sick so coming back on a bus while ridiculously hung over is not a good idea. There's nowhere to buy games in town anymore. I don't go into town, I just go to Castle Point these days. GAME, clothes shops, Smyths nearby, PC World. Does the job even though it's terrible.
