  1. No. You need amiibo for this game.
  2. They have a switch that switches them between amiibo and Skylanders. When on amiibo, they act just like standard Bowser & DK ones so Smash, Mario Kart, Mario Maker, Mini Mario & Friends etc.
  3. All hail the Tingle Tuner. The precursor to the Wii U GamePad
  4. This game was created as a bonus for those who buy amiibo. It's not intended as a standalone product. Jeez, Nintendo can't win with amiibo...
  5. Yeah but that's no fun :p
  6. I'm unsure though. The only times a Zelda port/remaster have been to reward people with extra hardware Color Dungeon in Link's Awakening DX was only available if you had a GameBoy Color A Link to the Past GBA had a dungeon you could only play through if you had a link cable and friends, or 4 GBAs. All other Zelda remasters lacked new dungeons/content and didn't have any extra hardware. It makes sense to me that this dungeon/cave was created for the sole purpose of amiibo content.
  7. I have no issue with it, most of the time, because the content wouldn't exist if not for the amiibo. When they lock out content that should be there such as the Shovel Knight co-op, then I do agree it's bullshit.
  8. That is not pay to win.
  9. Then don't do it. It takes nothing out of the game if you don't.
  10. Wolf Link amiibo come packaged with the game, but also will be sold separately
  11. They were making them, but then an ape came and stole all the stock.
  12. The Skylanders amiibo are Smyths Toys exclusive http://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/page/o/skylanders-superchargers-exclusive-combo-packs/?utm_source=Circulator&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=NEW+LEGO+Shopkins+Batman+V+Superman+Skylanders+Play-Doh++More+Out+Now
  13. Some people would complain even if it's in it without needing the amiibo.
  14. Ooh nice. Wonder what is saved to it though http://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/zelda-twilight-princess-hd-to-have-a-hero-mode-extra-dungeon-unlocked-via-amiibo/
  15. New costume tomorrow
  16. Much like the Triforce Quest in WWHD being cut back, the Tears of Light appear to have been too http://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/zelda-twilight-princess-hd-less-tears-of-light-famitsu-scans/
  17. So basically, here's the rundown. This game is free. In Japan, you'll get a code for the game (both versions) when you buy an amiibo (at participating retailers. It'll be added on the eShop alone at a later point. Gameplay is the same as previous Mario VS Donkey Kong games. You have to make paths for the minis to get to the end. Scanning an amiibo will unlock that particular mini. Each mini has got special abilities: Mini Mario - Wall Jump Mini Luigi - Jump (Jumps higher than other Minis) Mini Peach - Hover Mini Toad- Crouching Mini Donkey Kong - Climbing steep slopes Mini Diddy Kong - Wall Clinging Mini Bowser - Block Smashing Mini Bowser Jr. - Walks on spikes Mini Yoshi - Can eat enemies Mini Rosalina - Super Jump All other amiibo = Mini Spec There are over 60 levels in the game. There are levels all minis can play but also some only others can get through such as a Rosalina level. These are unlocked by getting a hidden exit with that Mini as seen on this world map
  18. No game has all the Pokémon. Each has a regional Pokédex so the "bloat" is minimal and mostly psychological.
  19. None of them also have the character they were hinting with, so that means we'll get a fourth on Friday
  20. Just revealed here. A new version of Mario VS Donkey Kong. Free. January 28th in Japan https://www.nintendo.co.jp/wiiu/ap5j/index.html Yoshi, Toad, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Bowser Jr. and Rosalina have their own unique sprites and even unique moves. All other amiibo appear as just a block https://www.nintendo.co.jp/wiiu/ap5j/chara/index.html
  21. So tempted to import that. I want those cover plates. If 3DS wasn't on its way out, I would without a doubt as it wouldn't hurt to have a US 3DS, but I can't justify it.
  22. The next event costume
  23. Player History is very much a system level feature on Wii U.
  24. There's the imageshare for the photos, and you can also share via Miiverse. See: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYQHAAABAACXVHhozo0Ubw Notice the buttons for that. Edit: Plus what @Ike said. I didn't realise you meant something after it happened. For the people you've played. Go to the friend list and press Y. It goes to your player history and shows you everyone you have played with, the game you played with them, and the time you last interacted with them. You can tap them which displays their in-game name and NNID and it has a big friendly button for "Send Friend Request" as well as another for going to their Miiverse profile. So yeah I still win on 3 of those 4 points :p Also, Nintendo killed messaging other people not on your friend list because people kept sending inappropriate stuff and they are about protecting children. Hell, even I stopped using Nintendo LetterBox, but that was mostly because of @ReZourceman. Sorry mate :P
