  1. I never said that they don't have room to improve. I would never argue otherwise. I too would like party chat. However, to say they have issues with their infrastructure when they don't, just because they lack a couple of additional features is just factually inaccurate and to say that third parties won't be on it until they add said features is just silly. Nintendo's online infrastructure is completely solid. You cannot deny that at all. If it was a buggy mess that was kicking everyone out constantly, struggling to receive connections, laggy as hell etc. then yes it needs to sort its infrastructure, however it does not have those. Lack of additional features != poor online infrastructure.
  2. Yes Yeah they tried that with Nintendo Letterbox and that backfired Photo yes. Video no. Photo yes. Video no. Agreed. Using other forms of infrastructure as a basis for comparison isn't irrelevant. It's a very germane thing in discussions such as this. Yeah there's really not.
  3. Infrastructures are the foundation, the basics, the software that are needed for something to function. Party chat is not a requirement for online therefore it's not classified as part of the infrastructure.
  4. What's wrong with the adding of people to friends? That's so easy to do. Search their name, click add, they get a request through, job done. What's wrong with the sharing? Miiverse was damned revolutionary. What else do you wish to share? The actual online methods to play are also solid. You can see a friend playing a game on your friend list and jump right on in. All it perhaps needs is invites. The actual infrastructure of the online system is also solid. Rarely falls apart too. I can play for hours with no issues whereas when I played games on my Xbox 360, it was constantly booting me out or booting a friend out and we were bloody paying for that.
  5. No. It's an additional feature.
  6. I imagine they'll make it so you have to float them online and you cannot have more than 1 NX Console and 2 NX Handhelds with the same account connected at any one time. If you want to float, you have to disconnect the account from that console and doing so removes all game data (except saves, they're not monsters) from that console that is associated with that account.
  7. If Nintendo does let you float your Nintendo Account and NNID, I think they're going to be quite restrictive on it.
  8. Then they're misusing the term infrastructure and I highly doubt the Wii U lacking Party Chat (the only big missing feature I might add) is deterring third parties.
  9. That's not true. If people said "Nintendo's online is missing features", I'd be quiet and nod saying "Yes, sometimes it does". However, saying it doesn't have proper infrastructure or accounts is factually untrue. Just because Nintendo choose not to include some things doesn't mean it doesn't have infrastructure or accounts. Next time, if you word your argument better, maybe you'll be right Also, the GamePad is a standard controller in every single way except it has a screen on. It has an additional component but everything else about it is standard. It's not like the Wii Remote where it was completely different, the GamePad is a standard controller in terms of input and even button layout.
  10. Just because it's recent doesn't mean it's not an account.
  11. Same with the GBA. GBA games were oversaturated on purpose so games looked as close to normal as possible on the non-lit screen of the GBA. As such, the VC versions had to be dimmed, but that angered a lot of people.
  12. Yeah. It's just on the GamePad and non-optimised TVs, they have the darkness filter. Megaman Battle Network 6 this week
  13. How does it not? Just because it lacks party chat does not mean it doesn't have proper online. Party chat is a feature anyway, not part of the infrastructure or accounts so is irrelevant to what was said.
  14. Yeah Wii U has standard control setups and proper online infrastructure and accounts so bringing that up as a point is a bit weird. The only issue with Nintendo's accounts is that they aren't easily floatable. This has no impact on third party support but is rather just a desire for consumers.
  15. There's one way for Nintendo to get third party support It's the same way Sony and MS do to start things off. Throw money at it.
  16. They're trying to stay away from using Fighting-types too much.
  17. Even though it's not eligible for this one, I want Barbaracle to be in Pokkén
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if both NX Handheld and NX Console are revealed this year, with the handheld coming to Japan this year and the console coming to the west this year, then vice-versa early next year. Europe gets nothing because our industry is somehow the bastardchild of both :p
  19. If you liked Rumble games, sure. It's good to have constant free PokéDiamonds and all the refuelling etc. reduced to 1 PokéDiamond (though you may still have to buy those discounts in the store)
  20. https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/140130qa/02.html That answer discusses both the absorption of Wii U architecture and the NX handheld and console be brothers
  21. A very large number in this day and age though. It's more likely for a standard hard drive to fail before flash memory of devices started on the same day nowadays
  22. Thing is, HDDs are so slow and antiquated technology. Plus the price of them go up over time, not down, so Nintendo would have to do what Sony and MS do and have to keep releasing new SKUs for it with different HDD sizes in order to keep the base price level or lower, and if they end up with too much stock, they're screwed. What Nintendo need to do is include either large flash memory or an SSD, but both would not be cheap. To be fair, Iwata did say that the NX is intended to absorb Wii U architecture and as such, backwards compatibility is all but guaranteed.
  23. Lapras is a Support Pokémon so that won't happen Here's a list of eligible Pokémon. Not counting NFE Pokémon (aside from ones like Scyther). Raticate Raichu Vileplume Parasect Tentacruel Slowbro Kingler Marowak Hitmonchan Hitmonlee Kangaskhan Scyther Jynx Gyarados Aerodactyl Lanturn Umbreon Granbull Heracross Kingdra Hitmontop Raikou Tyranitar Swampert Mightyena Sableye Aggron Manectric Plusle Flygon Gorebyss Relicanth Luvdisc Latios Latias Groudon Luxray Rampardos Drifblim Honchkrow Chatot Drapion Lumineon Gliscor Heatran Giratina Darkrai Stoutland Zebstrika Scolipede Basculin Maractus Sigilyph Carracosta Cincinno Reuniclus Vanilluxe Galvantula Chandelure Heatmor Hydreigon Terrakion Reshiram Landorus Floette Florges Malamar Dragalge Tyrantrum Smart money is on Swampert
  24. I'd be happy with this, but with analogue triggers
