Absolutely. I have 19 retail titles, average of 20 hours on each, loads of download titles and virtual console ones too. Spent more money and time on it than on my PS3 and it's not that far behind my 360, which was my most used console last gen. Definitely worth the investment for me. I haven't regretted it for a second.

I agree. However, there are loads of top quality Nintendo and indie titles coming to Wii U. It's not a total waste

I thought it didn't have save states on GBA games

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

Nintendo Direct!

And Nintendo do, as well. However, no company picks up the slack just because a developer's publisher is EA. What MS and Sony do is moneyhat exclusive content on simultaneous multiformat releases and typically add a bit to their marketing budget to make it Sony/MS only. However, this situation is different. It's not Nintendo's job to do what Alex Ward is whining about. It's EA's.
-
Doing so would set a dangerous precedent, would it not? Why make games for Nintendo consoles without Nintendo fronting the bill if they're going to start doing that? It's one thing to moneyhat exclusives, but for other circumstances? No.
-
I'm more stunned that people are trashing Nintendo for not doing the job of the publisher i.e. marketing, printing etc. Nintendo did even promote the game on social media platforms and Nintendo Direct. What more could they do? It's not the platform holder's responsibility to do the publisher's job.

Good to see Captain Rainbow get some representation

Which is bull as I, among others here, got retail copies on day one. He's hyperbolising the fact that EA didn't print many copies because they're EA. Also, he blames Nintendo for not doing what his publisher dropped the ball on. A bit whiney.

Probably not, no.

Patches/Updates and Retro Games of the Future
Serebii replied to Goafer's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yeah, I've been thinking about that lately too. Was even going to make a thread about it. Especially as patches are getting bigger (Dead Rising 3 of 16GB, Titanfall of just under 1GB on launch day), people will have to start having to delete them to make room for others, even more so now as installation is mandatory. The trend towards rushing games out with the belief they can just patch issues out for launch and/or later is terrifying. Launch day buyers have started to become beta testers, and considering most games get the vast majority of sales in their first few weeks, it's a horrible situation. You would think developers would want their games to be remembered fondly in times to come. Is the aim not to have the next Super Mario World, or Chrono Trigger, or Golden Axe? Classic games that stand the test of time. However, with missing patches, that will not be the case. -
I jog around 8-10 on each day, but that doesn't change this. When we're younger, a day seems long, summers last forever, but that's because the frame of reference is so large. When you're our age, though, the frame of reference shows it to be a small portion of your life, so it always seems shorter. I'm not clutching at straws, honest :p

One of us. One of us. One of us. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. If you need any help, just let me know

We're getting old, buddy. It always gets like this as our bodies decay

You should give X & Y a go

Well, to be fair, they announced Super Luigi Bros as part of NES Remix 2...

Children are still doing it, of that I can promise you

I'm not stuck with the notion, because that's what people want. They want a main Pokémon game on a home console. Sure, they could do an epic adventure with action battles etc, but that's a spin-off and spin-offs are ignored. I'm not saying a spin-off adventure game couldn't work and couldn't happen, I'm saying a main one with the main mechanics wouldn't for the reasons Masuda has stated on countless occasions in the past 10 years. We're never going to agree so I'm going to depart.
-
It would not be cost effective because it cuts out the portion of the audience that get Pokémon because of that. You guys don't see it because you're older, but that is still bit. Game Freak have said it's the main ethos of Pokémon. As such, they would not do it. It's as simple as that. Wii U will be relegated to Pokémon spin-offs only. You need to accept that else you're just going to get disappointment and this circular argument will go on forever.
-
Any main Pokémon game NEEDS all social aspects. Lopping off one for a home console version with an increased budget would diminish the userbase and just be not worth it. I'm clearly not being an idiot for seeing the whole bloody picture here, rather than "Man, I want it. To hell with facts and logic"
-
It's not "muh interviews", it's the directors of the bloody games saying it won't happen. Also, just because online exists doesn't mean that they are willing to scrap the real life social aspect that they are so for. With a handheld, they can have both. With a home console, they can only have online. Why on earth would they go for the second option?
